I have Nine Lives

Chapter 64: Start the fights!

Siracha, Mashi, and the other shamans met in the middle as they gazed into each other's eyes with fake smiles on their faces.

The female fox from the sparron continent had a charming smile on her face while the duo from the Haron continent kept mum, now that they were visible an old man with a hooked nose and a bald fat man who both wore dark clothes and boots appeared, they both wore military-like outfits and didn't make any movements or had any facial expressions, they were both as blank as a piece of white paper.

The kangaroo and spider shamans were rather hmmm... amicable? Siracha couldn't really tell as their smiles crept him quite a bit, especially the one of the middle-aged spider who had 6 eyes, and his open mouth showed his sharp fangs that dripped yellow-colored poison. As for the kangaroo man, he was a mountain of muscle with a small head and disproportionate body, he just looked strange and his smiling made it rather creepy.

Felix found them all to be pretty funny and Mashi wasn't that normal either as he looked like a walking relic. Only Siracha was the one that looked rather normal, well him and the fox lady.

Even Lindo barely suppressed his laughter and even Bizkier who was high and mighty could only smile at their attempt at showing their 'elegance and superiority' as shamans and elders of their tribes, while they were all strong old fogies they were pretty much antisocial hermits who rarely left their homes. Even Siracha who was rather social was considered a little bit awkward at times.

"Ok, so the theme of this battle will be like the last ones right?"

The fox lady asked with a coquettish glance around her.

"There is no reason to change something that had worked up till now is it?"

The old man from the raven tribe asked with a snort.

The ape middle-aged man continued:

"I have to second that."

Siracha intervened:

"Ok since it's the same way of fighting then let's decide on a location already."

The shaman of the Fishman tribe interfered saying some gibberish that no one understood before the blond young man came forward to translate:

"He wants to be the one to choose the environment since this is the first time we from the Fishman tribe have ever participated in this... intercontinental battle of yours."

"Anyone wants to let the fish-eyes back there decide on what environment our youths will fight in?"

"No." Siracha and Mashi said in unison

"No." The old raven and middle-aged ape continued

The fox lady scrunched his nose as he turned her gaze away from the Fishman and said:

"You smell and no!"

The Kangaroo and spider shamans mused for a while before they shook their heads and looked with pity at the Fishman:

"Sorry mate but it seems you will have to play by what we want for this time."

The kangaroo buff man bowed and the spider shook his head as he continued from where the Kangaroo left:

"It's ok considering your men can grow legs but considering you wanted to make our boys fight in the water where you can retain your tails and have an obvious advantage we are not that dumb to let you do that."

The shaman Fishman coughed as he started whistling and averted his gaze by looking at the sky, it seemed that while he didn't know the common language he did have the same mannerisms as the ones on the surface which showed that the underwater society developed in the same direction as theirs, the only difference being the language and some other customs.

Felix found them to be pretty funny in their own ways, it seemed that the statement from before held up.

Bizkier walked closer to Felix and Lindo and whispered:

"It's time to give our all."

Then he shut up, was he attempting to boost their confidence before the fight?

It was a cute attempt, Lindo gave him a thumbs up and smile as the supportive fellow he was.

Felix just gave him a nod as he was still a little bit shook by what happened with the raven competitor, he still couldn't believe he got entrapped so easily.

"So about the location... I think we should do it in the valley of skulls as we always had."

"Seconded."

"Hmm, what about the mud vortex?"

"We let them fight in that one the last time because you got bored with the valley of skulls."

"Oh yeah..."

"Well, we go with the valley of skulls again?"

"Let's go with one that we haven't done before!"

The last suggestion was from the fox lady who was glancing left and right while winking at the younger shamans.

Siracha shook his head as he said:

"It doesn't really matter where we let them go as they haven't been there themselves, this is more like a small choice for both us and them."

"Having a familiar area for us will make it easier to judge their performance though."

"Indeed but it has gotten quite boring to watch them slaughter each other in the same environment again and again."

"Ok then we will go with the Fox tribe shaman's suggestion, we shall choose the forest for them to fight you know which part."

Felix frowned, they were already in a forest so wherein it would they be taken?

It didn't take much time for Felix's question to be answered as Siracha and Mashi took them towards the location along with the others.

The surrounding forest started to change as they went deeper and deeper inside, the verdant green trees started to change to a strange purple, and the miasma they gave before started to turn slightly poisonous.

No one batted an eye to the poisoned air as their constitutions were strong enough for them to withstand the poison with no problems.

After a short while of walking the shamans finally disappeared as they left all the youngsters alone, the young Fishman stood alone as he looked at everyone else with wary eyes, there were foxes, skunks, ravens, an ape along with kangaroos and a spider, plus Felix and the other two.

There was a myriad of new races around him and he felt quite overwhelmed by the new information that his brain was processing right now, especially since he was left alone and he had to think of a battle plan to survive this on the fly, he knew nothing of their special characteristics so all he could do was look at Felix's group and give them a look that inspired pity. They were the first land people that he had met so they were trustworthy in his opinion.

Felix found the young Fishman to be rather pitiable but he also wasn't sure how strong he was so would he become baggage as he wasn't in his right environment? While an alliance was possible he had to think deeply about it.

Felix's musings were broken as 6 blades were thrown at him ready to impale him in the head and kill him.

An angry shout could also be heard that came from the strongest kangaroo:

"HEY! That's unfair to them why didn't you shout your attack?"

The spider tribesman looked at the kangaroo as if he was an retard before shaking his head, the blades he threw were a few of his mountain of throwing weapons he got in his special bag.

The moment the spider tribesman attacked pandemonium started! The ravens were already in their primal forms so they flew away leaving the man in the trench coat alone, the man sighed as he put a hand on his temples while keeping the other in his pockets and said:

"Tch, cowards the lot of them."

The Fox beauty suddenly flanked him along with her cronies as she gave him a flirtatious glance while her tails were swishing behind her back:

"Why don't you come back with me since your friends left you alone?"

Her forcefield was tuned at full strength as it engulfed the young raven, the man chuckled as he looked into her eyes and she gave out a small sweet smile as her eyes turned pink and the man opened up his mouth while saying:

"Sure why not?"

Suddenly he appeared in front of her drilling his hand through her chest bloodying the purple grass below them.

"But you will have to go first, we shall meet in the afterlife!"

Everything happened too quickly, her cronies tried to help her as the man backed away slowly but with a big grin on his face... but then he frowned as he got a better look at her face and saw that it wasn't paling, which meant she wasn't dying! The raven didn't have time to see that one of her tails slowly started to shrink as he flew away, but he still took a glance to Felix's side then disappeared while leaving some words behind.

"Surviving having your heart pierced through huh? It seems your shaman really loves you."

The man turned into his primal form as he flew away knowing that the best opportunity flew away, he could feel countless gazes brushing against his back as he flew away to meet with the others from his tribe... the only one remaining on the ground was the ape who was still eating bananas. It seemed his special bag was full of them.
