Chapter 46: Reinforcements
Felix could feel the spear approaching him instead of him approaching it, it was really strange but the spear had a magnetic quality to it that he couldn't really understand.
Because there were no bears there to stop him he easily got to it and touched it with his paws but the moment his paws touched it properly he could feel a current of energy entering his body and almost making it explode!
Felix instinctively started to breathe in and out to expend the energy before it made his body explode and kept the spear clutched into his paw as he ran away with it, he used his whole strength to use the very heavy spear to break through the invisible barrier and kept running away while his body was enhanced by his breathing technique and the energy coming from the spear!
Felix's body was hurting all over from that but he could hear a shout that chilled him to the bone coming from below:
"THE SACRED SPEAR SHALL NOT BE TOUCHED BY OUTSIDERS!"
The shout itself wasn't that scary but the burst of aura that came with it made Felix remember the lion shamans fight with the tiger shaman, the person who shouted should be the black bear shaman!
Felix could feel his hair being electrified as he was targeted by the bear shaman himself!
His body was starting to get heavy but the spear seemingly had infinite energy in it that he could absorb!
Felix frowned because his body couldn't take the extensive use of the breathing technique even though he now had an energy battery that he could use, while his body became stronger extensive use of the technique was tearing through his body rather fast! The extended use of the technique was just like a knife tearing through his organs and the pain was something that he could barely withstand, if he didn't have to run for his life he would have flopped to the ground and started to roll.
Felix was getting out of the 'forest' when he suddenly felt something approaching him at speeds that he couldn't understand!
The thing snatched the spear from his tightly clenched paw, taking his paw with the spear.
Felix cried out as blood started to spurt out of his stump and he fell to the ground due to his momentum being broken, the paw injury also amplified his internal pain and made him unable to keep the breathing technique up anymore.
Felix could feel his lungs being on fire while his heart was beating so fast it almost leaped out through his neck.
The person that appeared had a skull on his head and tribal tattoos on his body, he glanced down at Felix after he admired the spear for a short time before his eyes widened and he said:
"Shouldn't have you been poisoned to death?"
"Hmm, could your body be resistant to poison? Ancient cats did have this talent, you must be pretty talented then."
The black bear shaman pointed his spear towards Felix's neck as he wanted to thrust it down and end him immediately, his enemies having talented personnel wasn't something he wanted to see!
Felix could feel time slow down around him as the spear was going towards his neck ready to sever it any time!
Felix moved his head to the side barely dodging the spear at the last second which made the bear shaman make a sound:
"Huh? Killing intent detection? It seems you truly are talented seeming that you learned that at your age."
"However that technique is futile against someone that's way stronger than you."
To make his point the bear shaman threw his spear again and at this point, there was no way Felix could dodge it as the shaman put way more strength in it than before.
Felix closed his eyes as he accepted his death, he would revive and he would be able to use the breathing technique again and at that point, there was a chance of escape, he prepared himself for those horrific visions again before he could hear a clanging sound in front of him.
He could feel a strong and wet hand, pick him up from the ground, he looked up only to see Landers' visage, his crimson armor was dented at the bracers as he took the spear hit and there was blood dripping from the palm that grabbed him along with blood coming from his nose and mouth.
Landers smiled at him as he said:
"It seems I came just at the right time, and I'm not the only one here!"
Lindo appeared nearby as he breathed in and out, Catro looked around warily as he scanned the bear shaman, suddenly everything turned quiet and even the bear shaman's eyes narrowed as he looked in the distance feeling an aura compared to his approaching at high speeds!
The lion shaman materialized on the battlefield as he nodded at Landers then looked in the bear shaman's eyes:
"So this is what you used your sacrifices for? Quite pitiful in my opinion, but I guess a youngin like you doesn't need to extend his life at this point."
The bear shaman chuckled as he took the skull from his head and crushed it under his strong hands as he transformed into his human form and took a stance with the spear:
"It seems you couldn't stop yourself anymore you old bag of bones."
The lion shaman didn't take offense as he laughed:
"This old bag of bones isn't that old anymore."
Suddenly an electrifying aura engulfed the lion shaman as his power started to increase his aura reaching heights that were way above the current aura of the black bear shaman. His aura's color was purple but its density wasn't that big nor small, which meant he was around the middle stages of refining.
The bear shaman frowned as he started to flex his aura as well, his was also purple but the density was very weak and it was almost blue colored which meant he didn't break through properly with his aura.
The middle-aged lion laughed as his form started to expand along with his muscles but not by too much, a bloodthirsty grin appearing on his face at the same time as he looked at the spear in the bear shaman's hands, it would be rather useful to his plans!
Seeing the lion shaman eyeing his new treasure made the bear shaman chuckled as he said:
"You want the ancestor's spear? You can have it!"
The bear shaman threw the spear towards the lion shaman who easily grasped it and frowned, what happened here?
But the moment he grasped the spear he could feel intense toxic energy invading his body through it so he dropped it to the ground, he frowned as he felt that some toxic energy was inside his body and he needed to purge it if he didn't want it to enter his bloodstream if it did then it would be troublesome, the lion shaman couldn't help catching the spear, it wasn't even intentional, it was instinctual.
Suddenly the spear flew back to the bear shaman's hands as he tapped the ground 3 times with it, a gigantic army started to run out from the mouth of the cave numbering in the tens of thousands, all of them in their bear form.
The lion shaman's eyes narrowed as he clapped his hands and a hidden army in the same amounts as the black bear army appeared.
The bear shaman launched himself directly at the lion shaman without saying anything else as his aura started to strengthen, the lion shaman's aura wasn't at its peak due to his diverge attention as he needed to purge the toxic energy in his body.
Felix could feel his head spin as his exhaustion and energies finally settled in, Landers helped him by giving him a few pills which stopped the bleeding of his paw and restored some of his internal injuries but he would need rest to fix everything at this point.
Landers knew that Felix couldn't fight anymore so he threw him to Lindo who barely caught him, Lindo's muscles were twitching as Felix's weight increased again but he successfully caught him and put him on his shoulder as he kept a distance from the starting fight.
Landers's eyes hardened as he looked at the new starting war, if they got rid of the black bear tribe the other tribes will be easier to catch as the shaman would be able to give more ancestral offerings that would strengthen himself and the tribe at the same time!
Generals started to pop out from both of the forces, the shaman's son looked healed and way stronger compared to when they fought with the tigers, the generals of the black bear army wore heavy red armors inscribed with the insignia of the tribe and big iron hats on their heads, they were imposing physically but their get-up didn't really mix well with their appearance.
However, the lion generals frowned seeing the enemy's armors, while they didn't look that good their armors were full of defensive abilities and enhancements!
They were all made from forged Dark Hex ore!
The shaman's son frowned as he muttered:
"It seems this is where the tigers got their supply of Dark Hex ore... they were trading with the black bears."
It made sense considering one of the reasons the shaman wanted to kill the tigers was also for the location of the Dark Hex ore which he never got, in the end, they just now found out that it came from the black bears! But it made sense if you thought about it a little more, the black bears and the tigers were basically neighbors since both were strong tribes with similar reasoning, of course, they would work together, but it seemed the black bears didn't care to help with some reinforcements when the tigers challenged the lions and now it came back to bite them in the ass.
Felix couldn't do much besides keeping his head down at this point, he could kill himself to recover from all his injuries but he would rather not do that, he was already traumatized enough and he didn't think he could handle seeing those images one more time today...
