I have Nine Lives

The voice said with an excited tone:

"Well since you want to know my identity so bad then I shall tell you!"

"I'm the grandest god there is, the flashiest and coolest!"

"The God of trickery Aaltarox!"

Felix thought for a little time before he said:

"Who? I have never heard of you..."

If Aaltarox was here in a physical form he would have face planted, but only a cough could be heard as he explained:

"Of course you didn't, your continent doesn't give their faith to gods but to their ancestors, this is one of the ways a person can become a god, by taking the faith of living people, the ancestors of the tribes are protected by the other gods and in return, they would become their subordinates after they ascend."

Felix didn't understand why he was being explained that, but he decided to listen on anyways:

"Oh my, I have talked with you a bit too much, I guess I will see you one month before the battle happens, goodbye my little champion!"

Felix didn't feel better after he got his answers, he just felt that there was nothing he could do at this point, he really didn't like the feeling of being under someone's control but since gods were involved here all he could do was play in their palm and hope he came up to the top in their games.

Felix sighed as he woke up from his mindscape, he left his comfy bed before he went and got some breakfast, he needed to up his training a little bit considering there were around 6 months or so left before the battle began.

He needed to atleast max out the training in each breathing technique as for breaking through, he didn't want that yet, he could strengthen his body through eating and he knew that he would get immense benefits when he broke through with all of the attributes being at 9 strengthenings.

So he went ahead to train, he wanted to quickly finish the stamina strengthening before he could move on to strength and endurance.

Felix could feel that his lungs and heart were getting better day by day as the runes around them improved day and night through the breathing exercise and the Hex energy that was going in and out of his body. Soon enough the second strengthening was completed and the second rune was completed as well!

Felix could feel his breathing improve by a high degree! His stamina increase was something that he needed and for many reasons, he could now try the attack breathing techniques from the cat tribe ancestors! His body was strong and it could endure a lot after he evolved it through eating other species, combined with his increased lung capacity that gave him more stamina made him think of trying to use those techniques again.

He needed a life punching bag for that so he went looking for Lindo, it didn't take him much time to find him as he just finished training with his father and he was gorging on food at the usual restaurant they went to.

Lindo waved at Felix seeing him enter and gulped down the food before saying:

"Come and get some food, it's from me now, you gave me food so many times and it's time to reciprocate the action!"

He smiled as he patted the chair near him and Felix jumped directly on the table instead.

Lindo ordered some food and after Felix ate Lindo asked:

"So I guess you have been looking for me right? You want to train some more?"

Felix nodded as he said:

"I have a new technique that I want to try on you."

Lindo shuddered as he saw Felix's eyes change as he said that sentence, he could feel that the technique was deadly from the aura that Felix exuded at the moment!

However, Lindo wouldn't back down since his friend needed his help. He nodded at him and left the restaurant to go to the training grounds.

Lindo kept himself a few meters away from Felix as he waited for Felix to activate his technique.

Felix decided to start with the enhanced stealth breathing, he took in a deep breath infused with Hex energy as he used his footwork to disappear from view!

Lindo frowned as he looked at his body seeing blood starting to slowly drip from a small cut on his chest.

He couldn't detect Felix's killing intent!

Did he learn killing intent masking?

No, it was different, he couldn't even feel Felix's presence anymore, it was as if he was inexistent!

All he could do was take a defensive stance and block the attacks that he couldn't or try to use his mind to guess where Felix would attack and dodge accordingly, but it was very hard!

His body started to get more and more slashes on it but Felix appeared shortly after a few minutes, it seemed he could keep the enhanced stealth technique up for around 4 minutes before he went out of breath and both of his stealth techniques were canceled at the same time.

Lindo nodded as he said:

"It seems you have improved your stealth a very high deal, your help will be imperative at the intercontinental battle!"

Felix smiled as he caught his breath and said:

"This isn't the last technique that I want to use Lindo."

Lindo narrowed his eyes, he already improved this much in such a short time but he still had more techniques to spare? Lindo was both envious and scared at Felix's talent at this point and it even appeared on his face as he looked at him, he was envious but he was also happy for him, after all, they were comrades, however, it would be a different story if they were enemies.

Felix's body was starting to get enshrouded in the surrounding Hex energy as he breathed in and out, his body was heating up at a quick speed as he suddenly disappeared from view!

It wasn't because he was using his stealth technique anymore now, it was because of his speed! The ground below his feet where he stood previously was very cracked and pushed down, this showed that Felix's launching speed wasn't something that Lindo could take head-on!

Felix's speed was so high that he almost unintentionally killed Lindo at this point!

Lindo's eyes widened in fear as he could feel his life flash before his eyes, he gritted his teeth as he took his haymaker stance, he wanted to harden his body as well but before he could do anything else a dark-colored slash went near his head only to deviate at the last second and miss him.

Felix fell to the ground in front of him as he breathed in and out very roughly, using this battle technique after the stealth technique took a lot out of him as he didn't rest properly, Felix got up from the ground and said:

"I'm sorry I didn't realize..."

Lindo shook his head, there was cold sweat all over his body, this was a near-death experience for him!

"It's ok, you deviated from the target of the attack at the last moment, but what can I say besides that you are really impressive? Even if you killed me if you showcased this attack to the shaman I think he might have excused you..."

Felix didn't know what to say at this point, he could see that Lindo was a bit down because of what happened, so he jumped on his shoulder only for Lindo to almost fall to the ground, ah, he forgot about his increased weight and mass, Lindo was also quite scared and there were injuries all around his body.

Felix jumped away from his body and felt rather awkward as he patted his shoulder with his paw and said:

"Uh... forgive me?"

Lindo sighed as he looked at Felix's eyes and how he couldn't forgive him? He was too darn cute!

Lindo patted Felix's head and stated:

"Maybe it's time for us to not train together anymore, you improve way too fast for me, you should find a new sparring partner that could last better against your new techniques and you wouldn't have to fear accidentally killing him."

Felix nodded, what Lindo said made sense to him thus he asked:

"Do you have any recommendations?"

Lindo scratched his mane and thought for a few minutes before he said:

"I'm not really sure, to be honest, you might want to go to the older generation for sparring from now on, I don't mean to boast but I can be considered the strongest youth in the tribe at this point, well excluding you..."

"Maybe you can try asking the lieutenant from your division, or ask marshall Landers or Catro to find someone you can spar with, or ask for more missions from the shaman himself, at this point sparring wouldn't improve your combat ability by much if you don't find an opponent as strong as you, so you have to go through life and death battles, even though we have united most of the weaker tribes around the continent there are still resistances from here and there..."

Felix pondered his words for a while before he patted his shoulder again and said:

"Let's get some more food, my treat."

Lindo laughed as they walked towards the restaurant, it seemed food would make him forgive Felix very easily and forget about what happened, Lindo was just simple like that.

After they filled their bellies Felix left to look for the lieutenant of his division and found him buried under a bunch of paperwork, seeing his current situation made Felix leave him alone, it seemed that Landers being promoted left the lieutenant to work on his paperwork as well until there was a new captain appointed to their division.

Felix left for Catro's building and met with him shortly while he was doing even more paperwork, it seemed that now that he was the logistics captain that was all he would do at this point, Felix actually felt sad for him.

Hearing his request for sparring against his lieutenant, Catro accepted, he realized that Lindo must have been left in the dust by now considering Felix's growth rate and he called his lieutenant to spar with him.

The lieutenant came immediately hearing his captain calling him, but he was a bit disgruntled after hearing that he was supposed to spar with Felix, even though Felix was rather known for his exploits and potential, the man didn't think that he reached the lieutenant level already. However, he couldn't disobey an order from Catro so they walked outside and then to the nearby training ground of Catro's division so they could spar properly without being disturbed.

Catro's lieutenant wasn't necessarily old he was maybe 6 to 7 years older than Lindo but it was obvious that he was quite stronger when compared to the lion youth, the man took a military stance before he waved his hand at Felix indicating that he could attack first.

Felix decided to accept his courtesy as he started to breathe in and out, the lieutenant frowned as he felt his hairs stand on end, Felix rested a bit in between eating and walking in the capital and now he could unleash his third technique from the cat ancestors!
