I Have Great Voyage Game

Chapter 15

First Entry into the Gentle Breeze Cave

The sun rose above the sea, and Roger woke up to a cat’s meow. He had returned to the cabin last night. Lina had already left and was still hesitating about going out to sea. Old Nielsen, on the other hand, woke up early as usual. But this time, he wasn’t missing like before. Instead, he sat quietly by Holly’s grave, resting peacefully. Roger didn’t disturb him.

Today, he didn’t plan to go fishing at sea. The fishing profits were too low. Instead, he prepared to use the Gentle Breeze Cave Key to explore the cave. He had made sufficient preparations for this yesterday, even spending a large amount of money to buy a flintlock gun.

“I wonder if this key has a return function,” Roger muttered. Just to be safe, he decided to take the small boat to the island first before taking out the key.

[Do you want to use the key to teleport to the Gentle Breeze Cave?]

After making the choice, the space around the game character started to distort, and then the screen went black. When the light reappeared, he was already standing in front of the familiar stone gate.

Speaking of which, Roger felt a bit emotional. He had walked a long way with Old Nielsen, thinking that this would be the end, but it turned out to be just the beginning.

Next, Roger checked the key again and found that it indeed had the function to return to the teleportation point. He felt relieved, knowing that he could explore the Gentle Breeze Cave anytime and anywhere.

“Let’s begin.” Roger eagerly took out the pearl lamp that Old Nielsen had given him and used the key to open the stone gate.

Boom…

The heavy stone gate slowly opened with a dull sound, revealing some moss and dirt falling from the cracks.

[The buried unknown gate has been opened, and the seal has loosened.]
[You feel an unknown gaze upon you.]

At that moment, the game suddenly gave this prompt, which made Roger feel a bit uneasy. “That doesn’t sound like good news!”

However, without hesitation, Roger stepped into the stone gate, guided by the light of the pearl lamp.

The inner wall of the stone gate didn’t have any special changes. It was still the uneven rocky wall, seemingly just an ordinary cave. Roger continued forward through the passage.

But this time, he found some remnants that resembled biological remains along the way. They crumbled with a touch, revealing no secrets.

After walking for a while, a sharp squeal came from the game, resembling that of a mouse. But it wasn’t actually a mouse. It was a group of bats that Roger had startled. They didn’t attack Roger, just flew around in panic.

[Rank: None]
[Description: Bats that live in caves with poor eyesight, feeding on insects.]

After confirming that these bats posed no threat, Roger ignored them and continued forward.

Roger was cautious and alert, wary of potential monsters or traps along the way. His vigilance paid off.

“Squeak!”

Three large rats suddenly emerged and launched a surprise attack on Roger without hesitation.

[Cave Carnivorous Rat]

[Type: Creature]
[Quality: Common]
[Level: 3]
[Rank: None]
[Description: Rats often found in large graves, they enjoy eating carrion and, of course, won’t refuse fresh blood.]

Thanks to his alertness, Roger didn’t get hurt, but the three rats continued to attack him.

Instead of immediately switching to the first-person view, Roger deliberately continued the fight using the game perspective.

Soon, the in-game character on the screen, with its strong reflexes, slaughtered the rats with the Dreadful Fiend claws it was equipped with.

After killing the last one, Roger pondered for a moment and subdued it, then turned into a clone.

[You killed a Cave Flesh-Eater and gained battle experience.]

[You killed a Cave Flesh-Eater and gained battle experience.]

Although there were two consecutive prompts, Roger did not see any information about his character level increasing.

“It seems that two rats are not as rewarding as one Dreadful Fiend…”

Roger complained and began to pick up the loot.

But he quickly discovered something unexpected.

Not only did the rats give less experience, but the items they dropped were also not just ordinary trash.

They were extremely trashy.

[You found a Rat Tail x1.]

[You found Rat Meat x1.]

While the rat tail could be used for some materials, the rat meat was directly judged by the system as “not recommended for consumption.”

Just treat it as grinding low-level monsters.

Roger shook his head and continued forward with a clone of the Cave Flesh-Eater in his hand.

Before long, the environment in front of Roger finally underwent a special change.

In front of a fork in the road, there appeared a man-made structure.

A large cylinder pierced through the cave from top to bottom, dividing the passage into two directions.

Moreover, in front of the large cylinder, there was a blazing bonfire.

And Roger’s attention was all focused on one place.

That was under the fire pit.

Underneath the fire pit, there was a dusty wooden chest.

Treasure chest!

Although it was a wooden treasure chest, it couldn’t extinguish Roger’s enthusiasm for it.

However, Roger still had some rationality.

Sometimes, the game Mysterious Sea doesn’t play by the rules, so it’s better to be cautious.

Who knows if there are any monsters hiding nearby.

But even though Roger knew this, he didn’t plan to give up on this treasure chest, even if it was just a wooden one.

The temptation of a treasure chest to the players is self-evident.

So even if there are problems, Roger doesn’t plan to take a detour.

In the eyes of players, there is no treasure chest that cannot be opened!

Thinking of this, Roger carefully approached the wooden treasure chest with the Cave Flesh-Eater clone.

Arriving in front of the treasure chest, the Cave Flesh-Eater looked left and right, confirming that there was no danger.

Only then did Roger come to the treasure chest with peace of mind, reaching out his hand to open it.

And in the next second…

“Woof!”

Suddenly, the treasure chest in front of Roger revealed a mouth full of sharp teeth and ruthlessly bit down on Roger’s hands.

Damn it!

Roger was so scared that his phone shook.

And in that instant, the treasure chest had already bitten down hard on the game character’s hand.

[HP -45]

The game character let out a scream of pain.

Regaining his senses, Roger quickly controlled the game character to disengage and escape from the bloodthirsty mouth of the treasure chest.

With a thud, the treasure chest fell to the ground, constantly growling at Roger, looking very ferocious.

[Box Dog·Wood]

[Type: Transcendent Creature]

[Quality: Elite]

[Level: 1]

[Rank: Transcendent]

[Description: Brave adventurer, don’t underestimate the treasure chest!]

This treasure chest is a monster!

Roger’s mouth twitched as he suddenly recalled a familiar encounter from some games he had played before.

Suddenly, he became extremely annoyed and controlled the game character to kick the Box Dog.

You sneaky thief!

Bang!

The Box Dog, which was kicked by Roger and hit the wall, fell to the ground, shook its head, and then unexpectedly stretched out two short legs and ran towards the left passage.

“What the hell, don’t run!”

Roger was completely caught off guard by this turn of events and hurriedly followed suit.
