I hacked through the chaotic world with my blade

Chapter 252: The Survivors in the Mountains

"Won't you stay a bit longer?"

Lin Fan tried to persuade Sun Neng to stay. Sun Neng hadn't even entered the shelter's doors; instead, he called from the car, waiting outside.

"No, I'd better go back to the original place," Sun Neng said.

"Did you see him?"

Lin Fan didn't know the relationship between Sun Neng and He Mingxuan, but he thought it must be unusual; otherwise, why would Sun Neng come to find him?

"I did, exactly the same as before, no change at all," Sun Neng said with a smile.

Lin Fan thought of the He Mingxuan he used to know, and then of the current He Mingxuan; he felt the change was quite significant, almost like a drastic transformation.

But he didn't know that what Sun Neng meant by 'no change' wasn't what he thought.

"Thank you."

"No problem, it's my duty."

Sun Neng got in the car with Han Xiaoxiao and buckled up, while Han Xiaoxiao held Little He, the dog, in her arms, ready for departure. It was an amazing feeling, like flying in the sky.

Lin Fan skillfully maneuvered the vehicle; from unfamiliar to familiar, all of this came from constant practice.

Sitting in the car, Sun Neng felt the fluctuations.

He was filled with awe.

This ability was truly powerful, surpassing human boundaries; calling it divine was not an exaggeration.

Soon after.

Lin Fan delivered them to the original place, then said goodbye and returned to Sunshine Shelter.

With Lin Fan's arrival, this base had been destroyed, completely vanished like smoke. Thus, another sinister organization deceiving survivors was eliminated from the apocalypse, which was truly fortunate for the surviving humans.

After a while.

A group of mysterious people appeared at the tranquil base.

Leading them was none other than Professor Jin.

"It's truly terrifying. Wherever Lin Fan from Sunshine Shelter goes, it becomes a ruin," Professor Jin stood at the door, sighing helplessly. Lin Fan emerging among humans was a nightmare for every ambitious person.

Heading inside.

He quickly arrived at Li Long's corpse, examining its appearance. Professor Jin crouched down to inspect it, a smug smile on his face.

"It didn't disappoint me, indeed direct genetic mutation. The first injection into the Awakener led to an unrestrained outburst. This test subject is worth researching."

Professor Jin muttered to himself.

They always thought if they could kill Lin Fan, it would be great, but unfortunately, in dreams anything is possible. Lin Fan was a frightening presence, and they couldn't achieve that with their current capabilities.

Thus, there was no way but to avoid him. Should they encounter him, the only option would be to run as far away as possible—a presence to avoid.

"Take the corpse away," Professor Jin slowly ordered.

Those accompanying Professor Jin appeared a bit different from ordinary people; exposed skin showed unusual spots. Although Li Long had become a corpse and still had weight, it seemed lightweight in their hands.

...

Several days later.

Wu Hao rode his motorcycle, aimlessly wandering around.

He didn't know where to go.

His heart held only one belief: finding his mother. He had searched everywhere necessary; everything had become ruins, indicating in reality, she might truly be gone.

But no matter what...hope drives motivation.

He refused to give up so easily.

Just then.

There was movement ahead.

"Ho ho"

"Ho ho"

It was the deep growl of zombies. Having faced various situations, he long ago became immune to zombies during the apocalypse. He wouldn't be afraid at the sight of zombies; instead, he would calmly avoid them, like any passerby, weaving through groups of zombies. Zombies ignored him, and he wouldn't engage with them.

Soon, he arrived there and saw a large truck surrounded by zombies.

On this large truck, several survivors held specially-designed sharp tubes, constantly stabbing into the zombies' heads, making a squelching sound each time they punctured a zombie's head.

Men and women alike faced the zombies calmly; even if they were anxious inside, they didn't show it.

"Be careful, don't get grabbed by the zombies."

"Got it."

"Help me out, I have too many zombies here, the railing might not hold."

As the commotion grew, more zombies gathered around.

They were fortunate not to encounter evolutionary zombies. If they did, the truck's defenses wouldn't withstand it.

One survivor holding a sharp tube fiercely pierced a zombie's head but was grabbed by a nearby zombie as he tried to withdraw the tube.

"Damn it, let go."

This survivor was looking at the zombie's fierce face, struggling to retrieve the steel tube. But he underestimated the frenzied zombies driven by the sight of blood and flesh; the tube slipped from his grip, falling outside the truck.

The zombies were frantic, violently shaking the vehicle, trying to yank the rear railing off. Some zombies drooled thick liquid from their mouths, desperately pressing their heads against the bars, even if their heads were crushed; it made no difference to the zombies.

Gradually.

More zombies surrounded, and given the current situation, once the zombies piled up Arhat-style, the large truck truly couldn't hold out.

Wu Hao watched the scene; the situation wasn't optimistic. He pondered whether to help them but was filled with apprehension recalling past experiences.
