Chapter 536: Triggering the Alarm Device
"Hehe, these are just underlings, basically without any real combat ability. It shouldn't be a problem to deal with some ordinary people here, but for me, it's absolutely impossible to do."
"Good, impressive, truly impressive. It seems that the old man really wasn't wrong. Handing this task to you was indeed no problem at all. The old man even said that aside from you, no one else could complete the mission. Now, I finally believe those words."
"Enough, Uncle Ada, let's not talk about this anymore. Let's go, I'll take you there, the intensive care unit is right ahead."
"Did you guys come here before?"
"No, because we have already taken over the surveillance room, so we only needed to switch the cameras over in the surveillance room to clearly see what was happening here. It's just that we couldn't see too clearly where these guards were positioned at the time; after all, they were dispersed and hiding around here."
"Alright then, since all four have been dealt with, there should be no danger here. For safety's sake, you and you, the two of you stay at the entrance to keep watch. If anything unusual is spotted, notify me immediately, understood?"
"Got it, I understand."
With that, two people stood up at the entrance of the corridor and started to vigilantly observe any changes in the surroundings.
The others headed towards the intensive care unit. Arriving at the door, they looked through the glass inside, noticing people bustling about as if they were busy with something.
"Are you ready?"
He turned around and spoke to someone next to him. That person just nodded, and then, he slipped a very thin bamboo tube through the gap in the door.
It was unclear what they were releasing inside, since Ye Chen only saw a wisp of green smoke rising up.
About three minutes later, he saw those people just swaying their bodies before, one after another, they collapsed to the ground.
It was clear that they must have been affected by some kind of narcotic, a secret drug that likely put them into a temporary state of unconsciousness.
Seeing everyone had gone down, they rushed forward and opened the door.
At this moment, Yang Wenyu was also affected by the poison gas and had fallen into unconsciousness.
"See that? That's our target. Take him now, but please be careful when moving him."
"Don't worry, we know what to do. The car outside is already prepared, and we've arranged everything with the doctors and nurses. Since we're taking him away, we never intended to take his life, so we'll make sure to keep him safe."
"Good, then hurry up and leave."
Saying this, he gestured over there and several people stepped forward to lift Yang Wenyu steadily off the bed.
"We're heading back the way we came. You two hurry and evacuate from here, got it?"
"I... I might not be able to go back right now."
"What? You can't leave? But what do you have to do? Do you realize that by doing this we've already stirred the grass and startled the snake? Those people are bound to find out that something has happened here and they're going to trap you if they surround this place, which will be real trouble."
"Yes, I know, but there's a very important issue inside that hasn't been resolved, so I can't leave just yet."
"More important issues? What else is important? Didn't the old man's orders get fulfilled? Why do you insist on staying here?"
"Uncle Ada, listen to me, it's because during this operation, we encountered some strange things. If we don't figure these things out, we can't leave here at all."
"What? Strange things? And, does the old man know about this? Staying here on your own could really threaten your lives. I really don't support you doing this."
"Uncle Ada, we really can't leave. And we haven't even had time to report this to the old man. I'll explain it all slowly to him when we get back."
"Do you understand the consequences of staying here? Once we leave, those people are likely to come right back here. Then, you'll be trapped within their encirclement, and it won't be easy to get out."
"Anying told me that aside from these two corridors, there's a ventilation and air exchange duct. If we go through that duct, we should be able to ensure our safety."
"What? You mean that duct? Anying has already found it?"
"Yes, he has truly found it. If he hadn't said all this, perhaps I wouldn't have continued to stay here either. I know the price of staying here."
"This Anying, unexpectedly, his capabilities go far beyond my imagination. But even so, I feel that what you're doing is too dangerous. Shouldn't you reconsider? Or, shall I leave a few helpers behind to assist you in completing the task?"
"The more people we leave behind, the bigger trouble we'll bring upon ourselves. So, just the two of us will make it easier to escape. Don't worry, I know how to take care of myself."
"Sigh, by doing this, you're really going against the old man's wishes. Moreover, do you realize the kind of punishment you'll face for defying the old man? Have you thought this through?"
"Right now, I can't think about that much. So, the only thing I can do is to accept it all."
"Okay, I understand. Since it's your choice, I don't have much to say. However, I'll report the situation to the old man as is."
"Fine, I got it. Just report directly to him when you get the chance."
After finishing the conversation, he just nodded and then watched as Uncle Ada left with the person.
Now, the scene was essentially cleared and dealt with by himself; the people that needed to be handled were completely taken care of.
