Chapter 52: The Return
On the island of the Eighteenth Layer, a humongous Blessed Life spell formation was floating in the sky. It had a diameter of hundred-thousand meters and composed of millions of Blessed Life spell circles.
While Yang Yang was controlling this spell formation, the Spirit of the Sea pressed her hands on his back. The essence of the Arcane Abyss was powering the spell formation. In Yang Yang’s current state, there would be no way for him to create such a powerful spell formation, but with the Spirit of the Sea’s help, he could heal himself while helping her.
The grey locks in his heart returned to a black color and the ghastly complexion of his left hand was mending slowly. Although his sea of consciousness had yet to fully heal, it recovered considerably. As for the Spirit of the Sea, her body was slowly becoming more and more transparent. Yang Yang nodded his head when he felt the spell formation fully charged up enough.
“Take control of universe; master the way of Heaven and Earth; demolish the magical laws of the world; overturn the will of Death; separate from the cycle of reincarnation; free the spirit of nature; return from whence you came; sever the karma of the past and live for the future. As the Scion of Life, Prince of the Overworld, I nearby grant you new life! Life Magic: Blessed Life!”
The sky flickered with myriads of colors and the sea rumbled with excitement. The Blessed Life spell formation sent down a beam of light at the Spirit of the Sea. A blue mark appeared on her forehead, but was shattered by the light. At this point, her body had became completely transparent, with only the faintest blue outline on her figure.
She looked very much like a ghost, but was actually an expression of nature. The Spirit of the Sea floated up and did flips while laughing. As for Yang Yang, he made a few hand signs and the Blessed Life spell formation shrunk and descended into the purple lake where it continuously absorb the essence of the Arcane Abyss to eventually give birth to a new conscious entity.
The Spirit of the Sea had been released from her containment to live out her purpose, and Yang Yang had returned to full health. As for the essence of the Arcane Abyss it would heal with time and also return to perfect condition when a new guardian appear. Based on the current power of the spell formation, it would take less than a century before a new guardian with enough power appeared and operate the Arcane Abyss.
“Thank you, Scion of Life! Thank you!” The Spirit of the Sea was so excited that went in to hug Yang Yang, but actually went into him instead. Yang Yang laughed and walked over to the Scion of the Sea’s shrine. He took a long look at the Scion of the Sea’s petrified body before bowing.
“Thank you, Scion of the Sea. Without your efforts, the planet would have been taken by the Underworld. Without your sacrifice, this world would have taken by the demons. Without your actions, perhaps I would have never had the chance to reach godhood. One day, I will reawaken your soul.”
The Spirit of the Sea came by and gave her sentimental speech as well. Yang Yang turned around and looked at the Scion of Fresh Blood’s shrine. “I must definitely give my regards to the other scions as well.”
Before long, Yang Yang and the Spirit of the Sea left the Eighteenth Layer. Using the world-tier warship, they flew passed the other layers in a few hours. On the First Layer, at the entrance, the Spirit of the Sea floated up and stood directly below the entrance.
“You are quite the romantic, Scion of Life.”
“I figured you might want to see the Arcane Abyss one last time before you leave. It’s better to look at things in a different perspective every now and then.”
“You must have a lot of experience in that as well.” The spirit of nature laughed. “Thank you. For the rest of my life, I will remember you. Perhaps I will reborn as a human someday as well.”
“Human or not, it doesn’t matter. I will always welcome you.” He smiled while his eyes looked at her gently.
The Spirit of the Sea had no eyeballs, but the curves of her eye sockets communicated her excitement. “Goodbye, Scion of Life.”
She floated upward and left the Arcane Abyss. Yang Yang watched her leave and until she was no longer in sight. He then returned to the Arcane Dark Kingdom where the Seventh Sister Jade and the rest were waiting. On the journey, he looked down at the masses and shook his head. “Since they are followers of the God of the Sea, and descendants of the Scion of the Sea, there’s no need to convert then anymore.”
Of course, that did not mean he would return the members of Arcane Temple that he already converted. When Yang Yang saw the crew in the distance and his heart moved. Memories of the previous two years flashed before him. They were the most adventurous years of his life so far. A collection of chaotic and gorgeous imagery in the painting of his journey.
“It’s time to leave everyone. Let’s go...” He transferred everyone to the world-tier warship and put away the spiritual-tier warship. Once again, the warship was filled to maximum power and they left the Arcane Abyss through the Macabre Child’s forest. While most of the people’s memories were warped or wiped away, Yang Yang was preparing a new set of memories to place into them later.
......
At the entrance of the Arcane Abyss, a red shadow quickly passed through and shot upward with lightning speed. He passed by all the guards and even the detection spell formations. It was nighttime, and the moon was the only light in the dark world.
The red shadow’s mask was visible under the moonlight, and he went far away from the fortress that guarded the Arcane Abyss until he stopped at a location where the grasses were the thickest and most remote.
He flicked his interspatial ring and a white marble coffin appeared. It landed on the ground softly like feathers, rather than loudly with a heavy thud.
The masked figure placed his finger to his mask’s mouth hole and bit it. With the blood, he drew a diabolical spell circle. Then, he clasped his hands together and prayed.
“Big Sister, please come back.”
