"Has another Demon Claw descended?"

A young girl showed worry in her expression. She was a Moon Star Girl with a group of like-minded friends. Although usually just an office worker, her true identity was as a member of world's protectors.

Ever since this world connected with a certain Demon World ten thousand years ago, Demon Claws have been infiltrating their world from time to time, wreaking havoc.

They once thought about attacking the Demon Realm, but the opening and closing of the Demon Realm's rifts were always unpredictable, impossible to track or trace.

Fortunately, as Moon Star Girls, they could use the power of the moon to transform, and it wasn't limited to nighttime; daytime was possible too.

Immediately, she got up to investigate the fluctuations of the Demon Claw and pulled out a very trendy flip phone from her world to make a call.

"Anna, you must have sensed the time-space disturbance. We need to quickly eliminate the Demon Claws!" She contacted the nearest partner.

"Sorry, Lucy, I can't free up my hands, I'm handling a powerful Demon Claw." A woman's unsteady breath came from the phone, seemingly engaged in combat.

This left Lucy puzzled. Wasn't there just one newly descended Demon Claw nearby? How come there's another?

But at this point, she couldn't think too much and had to temporarily trust the other party. She closed the phone and hurriedly rushed to the location of the time-space fluctuations.

However, upon arriving at the location, she saw no sign of any Demon Claw.

Demon Claws were easy to identify; they were all monstrous in appearance, ugly and huge, filled with desires of destruction and devastation.

Yet here, everything seemed normal, as if nothing had happened.

"Strange, why is there nothing? I clearly felt the time-space disturbance." Lucy's expression grew more puzzled, her heart filling with a sense of ominous foreboding.

She was certain something had entered their world.

"Could it be that this time the Demon Claw knows how to disguise?"

"No, that's impossible; they have no brains at all, how could they disguise themselves?"

Lucy immediately rejected this idea; from adulthood to now, she had fought Demon Claws hundreds of times. Each Demon Claw was merely a brainless destroyer.

She didn't leave right away. Instead, she carefully inspected the area for almost half an hour but found nothing.

"Ring~ ring~ ring~"

Suddenly, the phone in her pocket rang, startling Lucy. She opened it to see it was Anna.

Thus, she answered and asked, "What's up, Anna, is the battle over on your end?"

"Yes, it's done." The voice on the other side seemed lazy and tired, then asked, "What about you, why haven't I heard anything from you?"

"I didn't see any Demon Claw when I arrived." Lucy responded.

"I see, then maybe you were mistaken." The other side seemed to not take this matter seriously.

"Perhaps, but you seem very tired? You're not hurt, are you?" Lucy asked with some concern.

Anna replied somewhat perfunctorily, "Yes, a bit. I'm going to rest now."

The call was quickly hung up, leaving Lucy even more puzzled, but there were too many puzzling matters today for her to understand or think about, so she didn't pay attention to Anna's abnormality.

"Forget it, I'll talk more about it when I go back." Lucy muttered to herself, then turned and left.

What she didn't see was that three kilometers away, a man on a skyscraper holding a cup of coffee seemingly reading a newspaper actually had a red gleam in his eyes.

The vast Ascension Empire network soon discreetly took over various networks of this not-so-technologically advanced world, but did not immediately exert control, instead lying low.

And tried further investigation of this planet's various nations' rulers. If these rulers were ordinary people and no Transcendents nearby, they planned replacement to grasp control.

This world wasn't completely dominated like the Navia Empire but rather a scattered mess, which was a good thing for Ascension Empire network intelligence, greatly reducing risk once exposed. Even if one nation was exposed, it could stealthily move to another.

Quickly, all relationship networks and job statuses of Anna and Lucy were successfully gathered by Ascension Empire.

Though it took longer, nearly half a day, mainly because the technology in this universe hasn't reached the era of ubiquitous information, many files and records are paper-based, requiring Ascension Empire network intelligences to collect them offline.
