Chapter 411: Cancerous World, Guests from Another World_2
Gu Shanhai, through his Spiritual Sense, transmitted all his commands into the minds of all the cancerous life forms that had submitted to him.
Yet this technique was far too brutal, and a large number of cancerous life forms burst into pieces of flesh as a result. Under normal circumstances, they would already be dead, but in this world, where the concept of death did not exist, these pieces of flesh began to disintegrate and were subsequently reborn.
In fact, Gu Shanhai deliberately acted harshly, as these cancerous life forms, especially those activated by planets, meteor belts, and the like, were unruly. Without Gu Shanhai's substantial strength, these cancerous life forms would have backlashed against him long ago.
As for the originally intelligent humans, they were not dead either but had merged into the body of the Long-Sleep Giant, after all, immortality was the fundamental rule.
"If things go smoothly, not only will I be able to create the Vermilion Bird this time but also the Black Tortoise," Gu Shanhai contemplated.
The world had no death, but if a visitor from another dimension wanted to save this world, they would have to bring death to it, indicating that the visitor possessed the ability to extract death.
What he had to do was straightforward—hijack this power of death.
"Not only the Vermilion Bird and the Black Tortoise, two associated spiritual creatures, but also the Peeping Dao Stage beyond the Magic Awakening Stage, I could break through all at once."
To break through to the Peeping Dao Stage naturally required a great Dao.
In the Xuanzhen Realm, this great Dao originated from the Heavenly Dao, and since it was of lower energy level, it was relatively easy to refine. For the Elders of the Great Mahayana Truth, it was just an extra pull during their tribulation.
But in other worlds, such technology had not developed at all, like the Fantasy World next door where you need to comprehend a certain Dao. It was too wicked to just take it directly.
"Life rules, death Dao, I could directly synthesize reincarnation."
It was a good thought, but unfortunately, Gu Shanhai had no intention of dealing with reincarnation.
To others, it might seem lofty, but for Gu Shanhai, it was just one of the basics.
A huge world created by a natural ecological cycle, the cycle of life and death was just one of its aspects. He neither needed to understand it purposely nor search for it deliberately; the rules came naturally.
Therefore, what he needed was to revert it to its purest form, to obtain sufficient data, and use it as a stepping stone and nourishment to further perfect himself.
Why he did not collect it himself was simple: anything considered by the "First Epoch" was certainly not simple.
Gu Shanhai's needs were minimal—just a tiny bit.
Of course, what was more important was that this place actually housed two worlds, enough for his development.
He had progressed from the embryonic form of a world to a world in three leaps, which required a considerable amount of energy, which he had planned to deal with in the next instance, given that he still had two more stages.
Unexpectedly, fortune had smiled on him twice over, so he could only focus his attention on the worlds themselves.
Once he became a world, he would then devour the two worlds as a compensation, preventing nutritional deficiency.
Thus, he highly valued these two worlds and absolutely could not let these cancerous life forms destroy them.
"A little guidance is needed!"
...
"The quantum collider actually opened a passage to a parallel universe, which is simply unbelievable," Marina said, shocked.
"Yes, but the region we are in seems a bit strange. Why would the planets be like this?" Richard was also excited, but he looked around at the eerie environment with some confusion.
"Perhaps it's a cosmic ecological issue. We need to collect some data quickly and then publish it. We are sure to achieve success and fame!" Marina thought without much consideration.
In her eyes, once the quantum collider successfully opened the portal to a parallel universe, then the Imperial Radiant Sun Award for that session would definitely belong to their team.
"Of course, Ghost Energy Fuel can only sustain the channel for ten minutes, if we go back too late, we'll have to stay in this parallel universe," Richard joked.
"Oh~ Your Majesty above, this is terrifying! This universe doesn't even have stars; being in such darkness is horrendous," Marina also retorted.
Just as she finished retorting, she looked up at the sky, which seemed as if the darkness was writhing.
"Richard, don't you feel that the universe beyond this planet seems a bit odd?" Marina inexplicably felt a tinge of panic.
Richard, however, kept his head down, focused on collecting the flesh samples.
"Marina, I think you should not focus on the vast universe but rather should focus on the ground beneath us. We need to quickly gather enough data for proof."
Marina did not respond this time. Just then, she saw a gigantic creature passing by.
This world did not lack stars; rather, they were obscured by some massive entity, and she felt that everything seemed alive.
In that moment, she felt a gaze that bore an unparalleled malevolence towards her, plunging her into a daze.
"Hey, darling, I don't think that's the attitude you should have."
Luckily, Richard's call brought her back to her senses, and upon looking again, those previous feelings receded like a tide, seemingly an illusion.
"Yes, the universe is too immense; it made me lose myself for a moment," Marina hurriedly said, then began to collect various sample data.
Three minutes later, Richard suddenly looked up, his expression grave, and he pulled out a peculiar gun from his waist: "Be alert, it seems something is approaching."
"That shouldn't be; theoretically, no lifeforms exist on this planet," Marina, seeing this, also stored away her sample data and drew her weapon to be on guard.
As their lighting equipment was limited upon arriving at this planet, they knew nothing about what might be in the dark areas beyond their light range.
"That's just a theory, dear," Richard naturally knew there was a difference between theory and reality; it was so in their own universe, let alone in a parallel universe.
A sort of rumbling noise drew closer.
"Come out, unless you want to be shot," Richard warned.
But the rumbling noise grew nearer; either the creature did not understand, or it was fearless.
Thus, Richard did not hesitate to fire a warning shot.
This action, however, enraged the opponent.
Suddenly, a four-legged crawling creature covered in tumors charged towards the illuminated area, its head split open to reveal a large mouth full of interlocking teeth, or rather, it was better described as bones.
"Damn it, Marina, shoot!"
The moment the crawling creature lunged, Richard instinctively opened fire and called out to Marina.
Their weaponry was extremely powerful: combined with his seasoned shooting skills, Richard blew the creature's head off immediately, and the powerful impact threw the headless body backwards. The only problem was that a thick liquid burst from the exploded head, splattering everywhere.
Luckily, they both wore protective suits that covered them thoroughly, preventing the liquid from affecting them.
"Blessed be the Emperor, thankfully these creatures don't have corrosive body fluids like in sci-fi movies; otherwise, we might have had to evacuate," Richard couldn't help but show his sense of humor.
"No, I think even if the fluids weren't corrosive, we would still need to evacuate," Marina spoke up.
As the rumbling noise around them grew louder and closer, it indicated that more creatures were approaching; if they did not want to be torn apart, the best course of action would be to evacuate.
"Alright, I agree with you," Richard noticed the noise too and expressed his agreement.
