I Don't Agree to the Terms

After all, the real strength of the Godslayer Alliance was used to watch over and ensure the safety of Gu Shanhai's false body. The upper echelons of the Godslayer Alliance wanted to become Divine, not just to occupy an island.

"It's manageable, not too difficult, we grab and run," Gu Shanhai deduced and gave Wang Qi an appropriate answer, then continued, "You have to make a judgment call yourself, this mother and son are both talented; if you can convince them to stay, one as a navigator and the other as a sail master, wanting to keep them would depend on you alone."

Gu Shanhai expressed that we shouldn't engage in a losing business.

"Fine, that's absolutely fine," Fang Jin smiled wryly, not objecting further but shifting the topic, "Can we detour to Wangjing Island now?"

"Sure, you lead the way." With the backing of Gu Shanhai, Wang Qi grew bolder.

Fang Jin quickly recalculated and then planned a new route for Wang Qi; at a normal pace, they could reach Wangjing Island in about a month.

Wang Qi actually knew the location of Wangjing Island, it was marked on his sea chart, but with a navigator like Fang Jin, the sea chart would essentially be retired; and referring to her skills, calling her a living map was quite fitting.

Fang Jin did indeed possess Transcendent abilities, although most of her skills were navigation-related, with relatively few combat abilities.

In the past, to obtain corresponding Transcendent abilities was quite simple; just offer the correct Tribute to the respective Divine and there was a high probability of receiving the corresponding Transcendent powers.

For example, offering Tribute with supreme-grade Red Sea Beef to the Sea Demon Dragon, the chances of obtaining the Sea Demon Dragon's Scale were significant; and to receive different types of Transcendent abilities, one needed to continue offering the same amount of Tribute, if you were unlucky, the first thing you would get wouldn't be the Sea Demon Dragon's Scale.

Gu Shanhai was rather different, being self-made and controllable by him, so there was no need to worry about these things.

"By the way, big shot, do you have any friends or the like? Since you're sealed, maybe they could help you break the seal. If they really can't unseal you, perhaps they could help hold off the enemies?" Wang Qi felt that someone as friendly as Gu Shanhai must surely have friends.

"What friends? Though I do know an octopus that's quite nice," Gu Shanhai recalled the Hunter of Sea Sharks, who thought using tentacles instead of a brain, wondering how it was faring now.

"Could we possibly recruit it?" Wang Qi was pleased; the octopus mentioned by Gu Shanhai was certainly not an actual octopus, but a Divine in the form of an octopus-like Sea Beast.

"It should be possible, that thing is too clever for its own good," Gu Shanhai mused that since it hadn't suffered his beating, it definitely must be smart.

"Then if we can recruit it, our chances of winning will increase even more. By the way, where is it?" Wang Qi got excited.

Fang Jin looked at the suddenly excited Wang Qi with some curiosity. Had he thought of a good idea?

"Wait, let me see where He is." Gu Shanhai pondered that it wouldn't hurt to check, and after divining, he found that it seemed quite sad, "Found Him, just a head left in the ocean trench recuperating, too busy taking care of Himself to think about helping us."

To be left alive probably meant being kept as an ingredient; Divines could eat other Divines after all.

"Which Divine did this? So brutal." Wang Qi had not expected such an occurrence.

"Who knows, probably fancied His tasty flesh, if you ask me, I'd have eaten Him too if He hadn't fled so fast last time... Never mind, let's drop it." Gu Shanhai felt a bit regretful; else he could go and cut a piece off after the Hunter of Sea Sharks had recovered.

This made Wang Qi feel a bit creeped out, "Divines can actually devour each other!!!"

"Eating humans is eating, so naturally eating Gods is the same. No big deal." Gu Shanhai indicated that there was no need for him to make a fuss about it.

"Hey, why wasn't your true body eaten? Logically speaking, if only a piece of flesh was left, those Divines surely wouldn't let it go." Wang Qi suddenly spotted a loophole.

"Guess why a Good God like me has survived till now?" Gu Shanhai didn't answer directly but countered with a question.

"Because you're kind, boss... just kidding. It's because you can fight better than those Evil Gods, right? Even without your true form, just a piece of flesh, you're still not something those Evil Gods can take a bite of." Wang Qi realized why as soon as Gu Shanhai posed his counterquestion.

Being strong was everything.

"Good that you understand. As long as one has enough strength, even if I were sealed, I'd still be able to deter all Evil Gods. How else could I become the Heavenly Emperor?" Gu Shanhai boasted with a straight face.

The Divines, of course, knew that Gu Shanhai was no longer sealed, which was why they were cooperating with the Godslayer Alliance in earnest.

The two conversed back and forth in undertones, and Wang Qi came to know quite a few secrets related to the Divines.

"Wang Qi, what did you use to repel the Godslayer Alliance before?" Fang Jin thought to pick a topic to liven things up; it was too boring otherwise, and besides, she needed to get a handle on the situation of the ship.

"Oh, you mean the Stinky Tofu Eggs? I've got fifteen left, why? Do you want one?" Wang Qi asked with some confusion; those Stinky Tofu Eggs were not something Fang Jin could use.

"Stinky Tofu Egg? What a weird name for ammo. Is it a Tribute from the Divines?" Fang Jin had never heard of such peculiar ammo.

"It's not ammo, it's an egg, a chicken egg." Wang Qi corrected Fang Jin's mistaken expression.

Fang Jin looked as if she had seen a ghost: "It's a stinky tofu egg, a special Transcendent item!"

"Yeah, and you can eat them too, want to try one?" Wang Qi said, pointing to the earthen jar in the corner.

"No, thanks." Fang Jin was horrified; she could barely stand the smell, let alone eat it. She might as well drop dead right after eating it.

"That's too bad, but you should start getting used to it. Our food in the future might be... hard to describe." Wang Qi warned her. To get stronger in the future, one would have to eat dark cuisine. Stinky Tofu Eggs were smelly but still ordinary in taste. The real challenge, both physically and mentally, would be Living Maggot Cheese.

At that moment, Fang Jin began to suspect she might have boarded a pirate ship. Otherwise, why would she need to get used to Stinky Tofu Eggs?
