Chapter 19
Don’t Make Me Kick You Out
Nan Ge was led away by Shen Yanqing.
The “battlefield” was handed over to the manager.
However, the manager listened to Shen Yanqing’s proposal and suggested calling the police. The woman’s expression changed and she left cursing.
This farce finally ended.
——
As soon as Nan Ge entered the private room, it was silent.
She nodded and stood at the side, not daring to move.
Shen Yanqing closed the door and gestured for her to sit down.
Nan Ge hesitated for a few seconds before going over.
A friend casually asked, “What’s wrong? I heard some noise outside just now.”
“Nothing.” Shen Yanqing ignored the others.
He looked at her and whispered, “In that situation just now, there’s no need to waste your breath explaining anything to her. Just call the police.”
“She might look like she’s pestering you randomly, but her motive was clear. It’s useless to say anything, so there’s no need to be reasonable.”
“Furthermore, everyone has access to the internet. Everyone has a voice just by using their phones. If she really captures anything, no matter whose fault it is, you’ll be the first to get hurt.”
“Also, next time you encounter such an uncultured person, remember to stay away. The culprit might hit you any time.”
Nan Ge scratched her head. “Okay.”
“Are you scared?” Seeing that she was distracted, Shen Yanqing lowered his head and wanted to look into her eyes.
The sudden eye contact scared Nan Ge so much that she dodged back. She blinked quickly. “No.”
“What are you thinking so seriously about?”
Nan Ge did not try to hide the question. She sighed heavily.
“I think I failed to word myself more accurately earlier. Thinking back, I was still too polite.”
“I wonder if she’s gone. I really want to go out and have another round with her.”
Indeed, the more she thought about it, the angrier she became!
Shen Yanqing, “…” She did not hear a word he said.
He smiled. “Are you that angry?”
“Of course. You didn’t see how arrogant she was at first. She just thinks that wait staff like me are inferior.”
“She even pointed at my nose and scolded me. When I was at home, my father never treated me like this. It’s really difficult to earn money now…”
The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt.
Due to her father’s domineering personality, he was used to criticizing others in the company. Therefore, when they were at home previously, the father and daughter would always disagree and quarrel.
However, after all these years, her father had never scolded her, let alone pointed at her nose.
“Although I think I’m here to earn money and serve others, I can’t be bullied like this. I don’t feel any dignity at all.”
Nan Ge’s eyes reddened.
Shen Yanqing took out a handkerchief from his suit pocket and handed it over. He swallowed the words he was about to say and turned them into a few words of comfort.
After a while, when he was sure Nan Ge would not cry again, he asked the question in his heart, “Then do you want to consider changing jobs?”
Nan Ge blinked, and her hand froze holding his handkerchief.
“Not yet.”
She and her brother had already agreed on this, so she did not want to give up halfway!
“It’s just a part-time job anyway, and the manager is quite good to me. I just need to work here for a month… No, there are only three weeks left.”
Since she had already made her point clear, Shen Yanqing could not force her. He did not say anything else.
Knock knock.
There were two light knocks on the door.
Soon, the door was pushed open. The manager walked in and personally served the dishes for them. “These two dishes are on the house. Thank you for your help just now.”
These words were directed at Shen Yanqing.
Shen Yanqing nodded slightly. “It was only right to help.”
The manager was stunned. W
hat did he mean by this?
He did not understand, but he did not probe further. There was a professional smile on his face as he spoke. “Then we won’t disturb your meal. Nan Ge, come on.”
He waved at Nan Ge.
“Oh yeah.” Only then did Nan Ge remember that she was still working. She quickly put down her handkerchief and got up. “I’ll go out to work first.”
Before she left, she did not forget to thank him.
“Has she left?”
The first thing Nan Ge did when she came out was to ask about the woman.
“I sent her away.”
“I see. Then I’ll get back to work.”
“Wait, wait, wait.” The manager grabbed Nan Ge.
“Is there anything else?” Nan Ge sized him up. Something crossed her mind, so she asked in annoyance, “You’re not going to dock my salary, are you? You miser!”
“…”
“It’s not about your salary. Someone’s looking for you.”
“Who is it?” Nan Ge looked around.
“He’s upstairs.” The manager pointed upwards. “President Nan is here.”
Nan Ge was puzzled.
In the office upstairs, Nan Ge gently pushed open the door and stuck her head out.
“Hello? Konnichiwa?”
“Come in.”
“Oh.” Nan Ge pursed her lips and closed the door. “Why are you here?”
“Can’t I visit my own restaurant?” His tone was a little harsh.
“Of course, you can.” Nan Ge rolled her eyes silently.
Did this person eat gunpowder for dinner?
“Heh. If I hadn’t come, my restaurant would probably have closed down in two days, right?”
She touched her nose awkwardly and muttered in a soft tone, “So be it then. Why did you want to see me? It wasn’t my fault.”
“How dare you argue?” Nan Zhe slammed the table. “Someone nearly took a video about this, okay?”
Nan Ge’s pupils constricted, and she glared at him accusingly. “You’re raising your voice at me! How could you do this?”
“Do you know that I was scolded by that unreasonable woman just now? You’re my brother, yet you’re still scolding me! It’s fine if you don’t comfort me, but you didn’t have to do this, right? Boohoo!”
“I want to sever ties with you! Boohoo, you’re not my brother anymore!”
After a brief pause, she continued, “Of course, if you call me big sister, I don’t mind forgiving you.”
Nan Zhe, “…”
“You’re in college. Why are you still so stupid?”
“Huh?” Nan Ge stopped crying, and her expression contorted the moment she heard this. “Nan Zhe, if you say that, I’m really going to get mad!”
“From today onwards, don’t contact me again!” As she spoke, she took off her hat, and uniform jacket, and threw them in Nan Zhe’s face.
“Alright, alright. I was just joking with you. Why are you so anxious?” Nan Zhe quickly pulled her back.
“When are you going to stop throwing things at me?”
Nan Ge snorted and crossed her arms, refusing to look at him.
She put on a dignified look.
“I was wrong, okay? Come and sit down.”
“Don’t touch me.”
“I was just anxious just now. Do you know the consequences of being photographed?”
“What’s the problem? Does it mean the person with the video is always right?”
“Even though you’re right, if someone really takes a photo of you, won’t you be the first to be targeted? What if people dig up all your background information? What will happen then?”
“…I don’t care. Anyway, it’s your fault for being fierce to me.”
Nan Zhe knew that she was deliberately finding fault with him, so he could only compromise. “What will it take for you to forgive me?”
Seeing that he had taken the bait, Nan Ge almost laughed out loud.
She coughed. “Buy me a new car now.”
Nan Zhe raised his hand and pointed. “The door is over there. Walk by yourself. Don’t force me to kick you out.”
“…”
