I Cook Limitlessly In a Fantasy World

Chapter 32: Shock, Confusion, Disbelief, Doubts About Reality

"Is something wrong?" Naresh frowned and took a bite from a sandwich. The smell was torturing his stomach already. A moment later, he took another bite, and then another, and finished it in a few seconds before sitting in a daze.

"Boss? Why are you all acting like that?" Henil tilted his head and looked at the hamburger.

"Fuck, I can't wait anymore." Lokam started eating.

"Tsk, let's see." Henil also grabbed the hamburger while quickly sucking back his drool and began eating.

"Eat and digest the reality well. I'll be back." Ainen chuckled and left, entering the Wagon Diner. 'Let's get you fed, the girls.'

He didn't want Saffa, Clovelle, and Fraisea to wait any longer.

Meanwhile, the Doomfang Brigade began wolfing down the delicacy like it was their last meal before the end of the world.

All of them had varied feelings while waiting. Shock, confusion, disbelief, doubts about reality, and while experiencing all of that, the food was gone.

For several seconds, all of them just sat in a daze.

"This…was unexpected." Naresh finally spoke, feeling a variety of buffs in his body as he felt stronger and tougher.

"My stats increased so much, leader!" Remia couldn't contain her excitement. "Each of my stats increased by at least ten to twelve points!"

"Same," Lokam said, still dazed. "How is this possible?"

"Leader, if I eat more of that food, I'll hit the peak in all stats soon and can start preparing to break through," Jason said, his eyes hot. "This is crazy! What kind of food is that?"

"I don't know…But I have heard of a chef in the royal family who can cook food that can increase stats," Naresh said.

"Is he him?!" Remia asked, shocked.

"No." Naresh shook his head. "If what I know is not wrong, the chef in the royal family is an Adept-rank powerhouse like me and Diana, while Ainen is clearly Awakened-rank."

"And I don't think a chef of the Royal Family would wander around here."

Everyone nodded.

"Why is the loudest guy among us silent?" Remia suddenly turned to Henil.

The others looked at him and were startled.

Flame sparks were forming around him as Henil sat with his eyes closed.

"Could it be…" Naresh narrowed his eyes.

"Ainen said something to Henil, right?" Jason frowned. "I just had my first bite at that time, so my mind is not clear about that."

"Same." Remia wryly smiled.

"He said it might help Henil," Naresh said. "That food indeed had concentrated fire-attribute, just like the food I ate had meat of Earth-attributed monsters."

"Some of the dishes had mixed, too." Lokam said, "I first ate the one that had the water attribute since I have Water Manipulation. I got a crazy Water-elemental buff, and it lasts for two whole hours. Seriously, this is crazy."

"True," Jason said with a nod. "Not to mention the taste…It's like everything I ate before this was shit."

Although the others didn't want to think that way, the fact was that Jason's words rang true and undeniable.

Suddenly, Henil opened his eyes, disbelief in his eyes. He looked at Naresh and others before pulling his right cheek hard.

"Boss, I am not dreaming, right? I just fucking broke through Fire Manipulation to A-rank. Now I am the same as you and miss Diana. I just became a top-dog in Lainark Town!"

"What?! The food is gone?" Henil looked at the table and shouted. "I just ate one Hamburger!"

Everyone awkwardly smiled.

Who the hell paid attention to others while eating that food? No one.

They just wolfed down whatever they got before others!

"We should ask for a second portion...we can, right?" Remia hesitantly asked.

All of a sudden, they were very unsure about everything regarding Ainen.

Should they ask for a second portion or not?

Because this damn food was a treasure, and they surely couldn't afford it!

Hemil just broke through! One had to know that even that Imerfon Fireheart Fruit couldn't have given a 100% chance of breaking through Fire Manipulation from B-rank to A-rank!

Quite the contrary, the chances were low for Henil and Sirika, who had B-rank Fire Manipulation.

A tier-2 resource like that was indeed rare, but in terms of improving power, it could only guarantee a breakthrough if one had the peak of C-rank Fire Manipulation. In that case, eating that fruit could 100% upgrade one's Fire Manipulation to B-rank.

But from B-rank to A-rank was just a small chance, with the breakthrough mostly depending on the user's affinity and understanding that they could expand by eating that fruit.

"I'll go and ask him." Naresh stood up and walked towards the Wagon Diner.

He looked at the open window panel and knocked on the black glass before waiting.

After a few seconds, Ainen opened the glass, his smiling face greeting Naresh. "Hey. You all finished?"

Naresh looked behind Ainen, but there was a strange black veil, and he couldn't see the interior at all.

'As expected. This Wagon is an artifact as well. This guy is definitly not ordinary.'

"Thank you for the food. It was very delicious," Naresh respectfully said. "We…want to buy more."

"Great. You know the dishes, and here's the prices of the dishes you just ate."

A menu manifested in his hand that floated outside and stuck beside the window panel.

Each dish had its buff effects listed out as well.

Ainen had also adjusted the price accordingly, but according to Lord Black, he was still too generous given the effect of the food.

"By the way, you should know that the price of the food is quite low."

"…Yes." Naresh looked at Ainen. "Are you sure about this price?"

It was 10 low-grade Mana Stones per dish.

Although it translated to 1000 gold coins, in the world of Adventurers, it was still low when compared to the food of this quality.

"I am just giving a discount since you are my first customer of Lainark Town," Ainen said with a cheeky grin. "And I got ingredients from you, so there's that."

Naresh nodded. "That's true, but we had already taken out important parts of those monsters, like their Magic Cores, some of their horns, fangs, and other parts that can be used by Alchemists and Blacksmiths, so the value of what I gave you was very low. I can only say thank you for selling this food at this price."

Ainen laughed. "Order away."

'And let me earn experience.'
