Chapter 15: New Skill!
After distributing the food, he left with Ron and Syl and arrived at the place where the foxes were sleeping.
"What is this, brother Ain?" Syl curiously asked as she saw the dome.
"Don't make a loud sound, okay? Come in."
Ainen took both kids inside the dome he had built.
"Woa-" Ron closed his own mouth before he could make a loud sound.
"So cute…" Syl whispered, her face red. She was holding herself back from touching the cute, furry foxes.
Their tails were especially the thickest with fur!
'These fellows became a bit more furry.' Ainen smiled.
"You can play with them later. For now, let them sleep."
Ainen exited with Ron and Syl.
"Ron, Syl. You two are strong now, so it's time that you start utilizing your newfound strength and get used to it."
"Brother, we want to become adventurers!" Ron excitedly said.
"Yes, me too! And then we will help you, and the three of us will adventure together!" Syl said with a big grin.
They knew they could become adventurers after eating their elder brother's food, which could make them stronger!
Indeed, Ron and Syl actually had all stats over 15.
Moreover, their minds were free of distraction and could easily learn new things faster, especially with high Cognition that was responsible for the mental process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses.
'If only I could give them skills…Maybe it should be possible in the future.'
'For now, let's assign them some simple work.'
"Of course, you can become adventurers. But for now, your job is to utilize the Mana you have and create a blade like this."
Ainen controlled his Mana, solidified it into a simple Mana Blade.
"Use this blade to cut the nearby trees, but don't go out of this border."
Ainen made a border of 45 meters radius by conjuring a flame ring.
Ainen smiled and added. "I will not teach you how to make Mana Blades. But you should be able to sense Mana if you close your eyes and focus. After that, it's up to you to manipulate it and make Mana Blade."
"Okie!"
"We'll do it!"
Ron and Syl were thrilled.
And so, both of them closed their eyes first, trying to sense and get a grasp of Mana within them.
This area was deeper in the forest than the goblin cave, but it was the safest because of the presence of the three foxes.
With their auras that monsters could sense easily, no monster would dare to get close to the predators, far stronger than themselves.
'Now then, time to open the rewards.'
Ainen sat down, eager to check out the rewards.
First, he took out the side quest's reward—Random Skill Box.
'Please, give me something like Earth Manipulation or Wood Manipulation. They would be helpful in many ways, including building the Tree House.'
Ainen prayed, mainly waiting for one of those two elemental skills so he could make a solid tree house.
The box opened, and magical confetti burst out, accompanied by a notification in his head.
[Congratulations, you have acquired a martial skill—Tyrant Mage's Arms (A) ]
[Tyrant Mage's Arms]
Rank: A
Proficiency: 1%
Attributes: Mystic, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind.
Effect:
—>At the cost of 5% of Mana per second, increases the strength of your arms by 30% and forms Knuckle Circuit in your hands.
—> Knuckle Circuit: When infused with elemental energy at the cost of additional mana, it creates a mystic gauntlet over your hands, having attributes of the elemental energy you infused. Targets attacked by the gauntlets are affected by additional effects depending on the element.
-Fire Gauntlets: Apply burn on the area of impact for additional damage and reduce the recovery of that part.
-Water Gauntlets: When coming into contact with open wounds of the target, absorb their vitality and heal yourself if you are injured.
-Earth Gauntlets: Applies powerful knockback impact when striking, dealing blunt and shockwave damage that bypasses certain defenses.
-Wind Gauntlets: Unleashes a chaotic flurry of wind slashes upon impact, dealing area damage and causing bleeding. The action speed of your arms is increased by 10%.
'Whoa….' Ainen was surprised. 'Now this looks like a damn cool skill.'
Without further ado, he used the skill as he felt the power in his arms getting a clear boost, as well as some strange micro-structure of Mana in his hands.
'Knucle Circuit, it's so complicated…' Ainen blinked and used Fire Gauntlet while observing his hands in focus. He spent 30 Mana, and it created gauntlets twice the size of his hands, covering them in a perfect fit as they grew out of his flesh.
'What the…' Ainen was startled. 'Is this…fundamentally transmuting my flesh, blood, and bones of the hands into solidified energy structure connected to gauntlets?'
Ainen was honestly dumbfounded. The gauntlets were foundationally connected to his body. They were literally his hands!
'Mystic attribute, I guess this is thanks to the non-elemental attribute that can create impossible effects that science, as I know it, can't explain.'
It wasn't like wearing gauntlet equipment, but transforming his hands into gauntlets!
'Now I want all three of those elements,' Ainen wryly smiled. 'I hope I can get them somehow.'
Looking at the gauntlets, Ainen already got some ideas. 'If it's connected to me and is made of flame…Maybe I can create some unique Gauntlet-type spells. Hmm, the gauntlet itself can improve. Its flame-structure is not as dense and potent as the stuff I make with fire.'
But before he could get absorbed into training this, Ainen knew he had to do more important things first.
For example, the reward from the Main Quest!
Interdimensional Restaurant!
Awakening: Mystic Chef!
The reason he told Ron and Syl to clear-cut the trees was not only to make them train, but also to make space to take out this restaurant.
Looking at the duo, both of them were trying to form Mana Blades now that they managed to control Mana from their bodies.
But it would still take time, so first, Ainen looks at a mystic symbol in his Inventory. As he focused on it, he got the question again.
[Do you wish to start your awakening?]
[Yes] — [No]
This time, he naturally selected [Yes]!
