Chapter 203: Farewell, Young Master
"Huh, the Golden Scissors can actually manifest some of its power in this world?" Zhang Chen looked at the two True Dragons entwining, and as he stretched out his hand, the two True Dragons meekly lay down in his palm.
"Go!"
Zhang Chen thought to himself, and the next moment the two Flood Dragons flew out towards a Jade Pillar, and with a single encounter, the Jade Pillar shattered into dust, then the two True Dragons returned, though their light dimmed a bit.
"What a treasure!" Zhang Chen praised, releasing the restraints on the Golden Scissors, allowing it to rise into the air and absorb the mystical aura between Heaven and Earth.
As Zhang Chen looked at the ruined palace before him, curiosity flickered in his eyes.
He looked down at his own body, which was now in a spiritual state; the Cyan Lotus still floated above his head, and Zhang Chen felt a bit disappointed: "It's a pity this isn't a past time period. If I could return to the past..."
Zhang Chen felt regretful for wasting several excellent opportunities.
"Next time I train in an Ancient Great Tomb, I wonder if I can return to the past," Zhang Chen muttered to himself.
Then Zhang Chen continued to search through the jade stones, silently comprehending the runes in the palace, carefully sensing the mysteries within the runes, hoping to gain new insights.
Unfortunately, the ruins were still ruins, with nothing of value except for the broken and damaged runes.
Suddenly, from the distant black sandstorm came a piercing scream, as if a woman was wailing in despair, sobbing, and begging for mercy. Zhang Chen's pupils shrank upon hearing the scream, his hair standing on end, and he swiftly looked towards the sandstorm, where a flickering light could be seen. A white-clothed woman was holding a lantern, seemingly calling out in the dark sandstorm.
"What the heck!" Zhang Chen felt a chill in his heart: "Are there other living beings in this Spiritual World besides me?"
Just as Zhang Chen was about to take a closer look, the light went out in the sandstorm, and the white-clothed woman vanished without a trace.
"Something's off." Zhang Chen stood in the palace, losing all interest in studying the runes; he quickly offered all his magical power to the Golden Scissors and then exhausted it to retreat from the Spiritual World.
In the inn, Zhang Chen opened his eyes, feeling a lingering fear as he patted his chest: "The Spiritual World isn't right. I've never encountered anything like this before."
Zhang Chen quickly checked himself, seeing the swirling black air current within his spirit, which seemed to exude a cold and ominous aura.
"Could it be that the strange ominous encounters in the Spiritual World are brought about by this curse?" Zhang Chen pondered privately.
He now had a general understanding that encountering mysterious triggers in the real world might also lead to changes in the Spiritual World, but Zhang Chen wasn't entirely sure.
Unable to comprehend the logic, Zhang Chen calmed himself and continued to meditate to cultivate his magical power, as that was the most important thing for him.
That night, rumors began to spread and ferment among the populace.
The Young Master listened to the discussions on the street, a thoughtful look in his eyes: "Has an Ancient Great Tomb appeared outside Goulan County? Did that girl from the Zhong Family actually find the entrance to the tomb?"
The Young Master looked outside the city, seeing lightning connecting heaven and earth, confirming the rumors.
"Zhang Chen fabricated the rumors so realistically, not only is it plausible, but with the Feng Shui Grand Array in play, no one would doubt the rumors upon hearing them."
"It's not too far, might as well take a look." The Young Master flickered, appearing outside the Ancient Great Tomb, and from a distance saw Zhong Xiang and hundreds of guards camped.
The Young Master hesitated slightly, then his body erupted with Vast Righteous Qi, writing an invisibility character for himself, blatantly ignoring Zhong Xiang and the guards as he boldly strode inside.
But by midnight, the Young Master was seen with a sullen face, coming from the depths of the cave: "I knew it! I knew it! When it comes to something as significant as the tomb's Creation, who would be foolish enough to let the news leak? I've never suffered a loss in my life, who would have thought I'd suffer a huge loss today!"
The Young Master looked at Zhong Xiang grilling meat by the campfire, wanting to confront her, but since he had sneaked in secretly, it'd be embarrassing for him, a grown man, to hold a young girl accountable publicly. Besides, he had good relations with the Zhong Family, so he had to silently swallow this loss.
"Can't blame Zhong Xiang, I'll have to find the source of the rumors. I need someone to pay for this loss." The Young Master grumbled as he disappeared into the darkness.
Then the night passed uneventfully, and the next morning, Zhang Chen went downstairs to order a bowl of tofu pudding and a sesame seed flatbread, sitting in the hall to eat while listening for any news about the Ancient Great Tomb.
And sure enough, Zhang Chen wasn't disappointed, as various rumors about the tomb were already fermenting in the inn's hall.
"Have you heard? An Ancient Great Tomb appeared outside the city, containing endless Creation. Whoever can excavate something from inside is sure to enjoy endless wealth and glory."
"Nonsense, I heard there's an Elixir of Immortality in there, supposedly granting eternal life and youth if consumed."
"You both heard fake news. I tell you, my second aunt's nephew's son's nephew personally explored that kind of tomb, and it's said that the tomb actually contains Supreme Divine Artifacts left by Ancient Divine People."
"..."
A group of people discussed excitedly, and Zhang Chen silently praised: "Huang Chao, that guy has integrity, a real doer."
