Chapter 69: Come, Open Your Mouth~(9/10)
When Finn emerged from the waiting room, a wall of angry glares met him. The students were livid. If looks could kill, Finn would have been reduced to ashes right then and there.
"Hehe~ What are you all staring at? Thinking about starting a rebellion?" Finn smirked, clearly entertained by their hostility.
"Don't act all high and mighty, Finn! You did something terrible to Instructor Ai Yin. Do you really think you can just walk away unscathed?"
"Yeah! We're going to report you to the Marshal! You won't get away with this!" one of the students shouted, while the others nodded in agreement.
The group of furious students began marching towards the exit, ready to expose Finn's supposed crimes. They knew they couldn't take him on physically, so they resorted to what they thought was their last weapon—complaining to the higher-ups.
Finn rolled his eyes. MMP, he thought. These kids actually think they can ruin my day? Not happening.
With a swift motion, Finn used the "Shave" technique, instantly blocking the exit. His speed was too much for the students, and they found themselves staring at him once again, trapped.
"What are you doing, Finn?" one of the students at the front exclaimed, his voice trembling with fear. "You can't stop us. We're students, and you have no right to hold us here!"
"Yeah! Let us through!" another shouted, their collective courage dwindling.
Finn chuckled, stepping forward. "You think you're going to abandon training and run to the Marshal just because you're mad? Is that how much you value the Instructor's efforts?"
The students paused, taken aback by Finn's words. Were they really in the wrong for wanting to expose him? The confusion didn't last long, though, as one brave student piped up.
"Efforts? Are you kidding me? You're the one who disrespected her!"
Finn sighed dramatically, stepping even closer. The students backed away in unison, clearly intimidated by his towering presence. "Listen up. Instructor Ai Yin's not here to supervise you, so guess who's taking over? Me. And trust me, you're going to train harder than ever under my watch."
"Over my dead body!" one of the students yelled. "Let's go, everyone! We'll break through together!"
The group rallied behind the student's words, their determination reignited. They rushed at Finn in a chaotic mess, their collective anger driving them forward.
Finn grinned. They really think they stand a chance?
"Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven!"
With a fluid motion, Finn unleashed his attack, spinning and repelling the students back into the training ground like ragdolls. Though they weren't seriously hurt, their pride definitely took a hit. As they lay sprawled on the ground, groaning, Finn crossed his arms, satisfied.
"I told you—training first, complaints later."
Some students clutched their arms or legs, moaning about injuries. "My arm! You broke it!" one cried.
"My finger's dislocated!" another shouted, holding up a bent finger for proof.
"My heel's bleeding!" yelled a third.
Finn rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine. Stop your whining." He casually released a few healing techniques, instantly fixing their wounds. The students blinked in surprise as their injuries vanished.
"My arm's back to normal!"
"My heel stopped bleeding!"
"How did he—"
Finn grinned mischievously. "Impressed? Good. Because we're not done yet."
Without warning, he launched another series of light attacks, knocking them down again. After each round of beatings, he healed them, then beat them again.
By the time Finn was satisfied, the students were exhausted, their spirits broken. Now they squatted in horse stances, balancing bricks on their arms and heads, too afraid to complain.
"See? Being an instructor is much more fun than being a student," Finn laughed, strolling down the line like a drill sergeant.
The students didn't respond, silently cursing their new "Devil Instructor" in their heads.
Later that afternoon, after class ended, Finn decided to visit Ai Yin at her quarters, bringing Tashigi along.
When Ai Yin opened the door, her face immediately flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment. "What do you want?" she snapped, trying to close the door in Finn's face.
But Finn, as usual, had no intention of backing down. He blocked the door with his hand and gave her his signature cocky smile. "C'mon, beautiful Instructor. Don't be so cold. I just came to see how you're doing. After all, I did save you back there, remember?"
Ai Yin's face turned an even deeper shade of red. "Save me? You mean embarrass me! If you're here to apologize, do it quickly and leave!" she snapped, her voice shaking slightly.
"Apologize?" Finn raised an eyebrow, feigning shock. "I didn't come to apologize. What happened was self-defense! I had no choice." He waved his hand dismissively. "Besides, I actually came here to discuss something important."
Ai Yin folded her arms, clearly frustrated. "Important? Really?" she huffed. "Fine, just say what you have to say and go."
"Sure thing! But, uh, maybe invite me inside first?" Finn winked at her.
Ai Yin hesitated but reluctantly stepped aside. "Come in, but don't get comfortable!"
Finn sauntered inside with Tashigi in tow, taking in the neat and tidy room. It wasn't filled with the usual girly trinkets but instead had a simple, clean vibe, with books meticulously organized on the shelves.
"So, what is it?" Ai Yin asked, trying to keep her composure as Finn made himself at home.
"No rush, beautiful Instructor. I brought dinner!" Finn waved his hand, and out of nowhere, several dishes from a lavish banquet appeared on the table.
"You—! What are you doing?" Ai Yin sputtered, her eyes widening in surprise. "Don't tell me you plan on eating here?"
"Of course!" Finn replied, completely unfazed. He gestured to the empty seat beside him. "Come on, join us. I even brought something special for you."
Ai Yin opened her mouth to protest, but then the delicious smell of the food hit her. Her stomach growled, betraying her tough exterior. She glanced at the beautifully arranged dishes, particularly a snow-white cake that caught her eye.
"You… What's that?" she asked, trying to sound disinterested, but the hunger in her voice was unmistakable.
"Green Lotus Osmanthus Cake," Finn said, waving it temptingly under her nose. "Want a taste?"
Ai Yin hesitated for a moment, her pride warring with her hunger. Finally, she opened her mouth, ready to accept the treat.
Just as she did, Finn popped the cake into his own mouth, grinning cheekily.
"Oops, too slow," he said, winking at her.
Ai Yin's face burned with embarrassment and fury. One of these days, she thought, I'm going to make you pay, Finn.
