Chapter 1
Chapter 1 – Perhaps

Lee Si-woo.
A name that’s quite ordinary, if you can even call it that.
A name that appears so often in novels that it feels like I’ve seen it somewhere before.
And, it’s also my name.
Of course, it’s not that I have any complaints about it.
It’s the name my parents gave me, so how could I have any complaints?
It’s just something I think about sometimes, that’s all.
Perhaps, this place I’m standing in right now isn’t real life, but a novel.
Perhaps, the people I’m looking at and the scenery around me are nothing more than someone’s fabricated thoughts.
I knew I wouldn’t have anything to say if someone asked me if I still hadn’t gotten over my chuunibyou phase at 20 years old.
Even I think it’s the kind of thought only a young kid would have.
But, even so.
Today, I couldn’t help but think similar thoughts again.
“Lee Si-woo! Did you oversleep again because you were playing games?!”
[Si-woo woke up late again today… I wonder if he’s feeling unwell?]
Perhaps, this absurd situation is happening only because I’m a character in a novel.
“…Sorry, I’m a bit late today.”
“If you’re sorry, then try to be quicker next time. It’s not like I’ve only been waiting for you for a day or two.”
“…”
“Do you understand? Answer me.”
“Yes.”
“Good, that’s enough.”
[I hope he isn’t hurt by the way I spoke to him. I’m sorry, Si-woo-ya.]
There’s no other explanation for why this typical rom-com light novel-like situation is happening only to me.
“I’ll be more careful next time.”
“Hmph, you’re good at giving the right answers. Make sure you keep your promise.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry.”
[Si-woo apologized to me. Actually, I wasn’t really that angry…]
[What should I do? Should I tell him I’m not angry?]
It was difficult to decide if this was a good thing or not, but…
At some point, I started being able to see my childhood friend’s inner thoughts.
