Chapter 387: Transition
[Chapter 386 Comments.]
[TheTavius08: HA! I WAS RIGHT!( in some way.) And slightly later in time for my birthday April 20th. I guess everyone here is getting older and better now! How ya gonna get out of this new mess? You can have 2 slices of cake to share the love.Just make a slice,it's vanilla]
[Keltic_Spirit: Well, the spirits definitely don't see any good omens for you in the near future. Though I do wonder when that plot point with Oliver will pop up again...]
…
Theo looked around while squinting his eyes. Mia wasn't here, which made him already feel displeased. However, he didn't understand how this space worked either.
There was no disturbance he noticed or anything that he found, which could be connected to this space.
"What's going on? Where am I?" Theo muttered. He raised his guard to the maximum, wondering what would come.
To his surprise, a male's voice echoed from behind. "You're in a special space that I created."
"!!!" Theo hurriedly turned around, finding a humanoid figure sitting on a chair. The humanoid figure looked like a mannequin without eyes and a nose, the chair was just an ordinary office chair. He couldn't sense anything from him. "Who are you?"
"Rather than answering that question, why don't you attack me?" The mysterious guy smiled.
Theo furrowed his eyebrows. He wanted to channel his energy, but he suddenly noticed something. All his energy, even his illusion was completely sealed in this space. He usually made people believe he didn't have energy with his illusion, but this was the first time his illusion couldn't be activated from the beginning. It was as if the mysterious person in front of him had sealed it from the very beginning. No, it was as if he had absolute control of him.
"!!!" Theo widened his eyes, coming to a realization. He hurriedly leaped forward and punched the mysterious guy, but a translucent blue screen suddenly appeared before him. "As expected, you…"
The mysterious person smiled.
The screen that protected the mysterious person showed the answer. It said, '4th Wall.'
"You are my creator?"
"Indeed." The mysterious person nodded. "Of course, this is just a manifestation of me that I wrote behind my computer. Besides, the readers have told you what kind of world we have, right?"
Theo squinted his eyes. "What are you trying to do here?"
He shook his head while putting a finger on his lips. "This is a transition phase. I have already planned to meet you every time a volume ends, giving you a certain piece of information toward a certain ending."
"!!!" Theo suddenly realized something. Although he had seen each chapter's comments, he definitely wasn't aware of the volume. "So, this is the first volume?"
"Yes. The more you progress, the less you will see me, but also the more you understand the world and the concept between us. Ultimately, you will find the real me… unless it's not possible."
Theo clenched his fists. "You have indeed several ways to stop me. Even my daughter said you could change the genre of the novel to a tragedy to kill me or my family."
"It's hard for me, isn't it? If I put you through that kind of hardship, you will kill me the moment we meet. If I don't put you through hardship, the story will be boring."
"…" Theo fell silent. That was indeed true. He had to thread an extremely thin balance.
"Before I continue, why don't you reply to the comment first? Well, I must be lucky, so I guess I can use this manifestation of myself to congratulate him in this special way. Happy birthday, Tavius."
Although Theo had a lot of things to say to this so-called creator, he indeed had to thank the readers for allowing him to reach this far.
He opened the panel and checked the comment. "Indeed. Happy Birthday, Tavius. I don't know if it's already April 20th by the time I say this in your world or not, but Happy Birthday.
"I don't know about the good omen, but meeting this so-called creator all of a sudden is already not a good omen."
"Oi, oi." The creator smiled. "Well, I might not be able to deny that. But allow me to introduce myself formally. My name… or more like, my pen name, is Fixten."
"How am I supposed to call you?"
"It's up to you." Fixten smiled. "I have three things to say. First of all, keep your questions to yourself this time. If you want to find more, continue chasing after me. You will find out the way sooner or later."
Theo shook his head. "I couldn't care less about that. I might have a lot of questions for you, but what I want to know is Mia. Where is she? Why do you not bring her here?"
"For that question… everything is alright. I'm just bringing you to this space. You will be teleported without any problem after this is done. No one other than me can guarantee that 100%."
Theo closed his eyes for a moment.
"The second topic is not about you, but about the readers. I'd like to thank everyone who has been following this story from the beginning and still supports this story by commenting on each chapter, whether it's messing with me, fooling Theo, or any random topic. Without all of you, I probably can't reach this far."
Theo couldn't help but acknowledge it. It was indeed an important thing to say and unlike any other creators, he was probably one of the only few people who could do it this way. It was precisely because of how he structured the story
"Last but not least, the name of this volume shall be 'World Union Academy,' which you should understand where it's coming from. And the name of the next volume is 'Demonification.'
"That's all I can say for you."
Theo paused for a moment. "You're not going to say anything more, even for the readers?"
"No. It's up to us to make this story interesting. I'm looking forward to how you're going to reach me in the second volume."
"Wait—" Theo wanted to stop him, but the other party had already snapped his fingers as the body gradually disappeared, leaving behind an empty seat.
Volume 1 End.
