I Can Program My Body?

Chapter 249: Engraving Runic Language

"What about you, Nora? What do you specialize in?" Nash asked, glancing at the mess around them.

"I specialize in the path of matter. It's the easiest and the most profitable scientific path there is." Nora smiled.

Although all paths of science were interconnected, the path of matter remained the easiest to begin with.

Even a Tier 1 scientist could make a lot of money in it.

"I see… So, what do you think I should do first to start my path?"

Although material science was the easiest starting point, Nash still insisted on beginning with law.

Hearing his question, Nora fell into deep thought.

To start with the path of law, one usually had to interact with various physical energies, like kinetic, nuclear, human power, and more.

However, situated within the Dark Plane without much exquisite equipment, Nash could only begin with the runic language.

"If you can, it's better to start with the runic language. If you can decipher it, you can experiment with turning a tier 1 perfect quality item into a runic equipment," Nora suggested.

This was the most efficient path, bypassing the basics of law and getting straight to the point.

The only problem was that to master the runic language, Nash would need not just one or two hundred perfect weapons to experiment with, but thousands or even millions, depending on his talent and comprehension.

Explaining the shortcomings of this plan, Nora noticed Nash still wore a confident smile.

"This is perfect. Isn't it just a few perfect quality weapons? We still have some in storage," Nash said boldly.

As a leader, wasn't it only right for him to mobilize public resources?

It wasn't like he was embezzling; he was using them to research a weapon to combat the dark beast.

Ignoring Nora's dumbfounded expression at his shamelessness, Nash hurried to the shelter's weapon warehouse and gathered all the tier 1 and tier 2 perfect quality items.

Counting them, there were 258 tier 1 perfect quality items and 122 tier 2 perfect quality items, a total of 380 pieces.

Nash didn't believe he couldn't master the runic language with this many resources.

With his foundation in runic programs and a few runic commands, coupled with his billions in computation power, he doubted he'd need thousands of attempts.

Soon, turning to the shelter panel and seeing the merit points climb back over a hundred trillion from the special team's victory against the lord-level dark beast, Nash took another fund and built his dedicated workshop.

As the shelter leader, how could he share a workplace with others?

Furthermore, if Camilla knew he was spending all day with another girl, she might kill him when she returned.

Wanting his own private space and to avoid any misunderstandings, Nash decided to build his own workshop.

---

Walking to the middle-edge of the shelter, Nash spent a few trillion to construct a workshop with its supporting facilities.

Although he might not need most of them now, it was better to build everything first.

"Now I can start…" With a smile, Nash stepped inside.

Looking at the somewhat empty room, with a few pieces of equipment imbued with the power of elements and law, Nash didn't mind.

Browsing through the piles of books Zeke had given him, he soon found a few steles.

These steles didn't contain words but dynamic inscriptions that seemed to move without pause.

With every movement, subtle changes rippled through them, like still water being disturbed.

Taking all the thousands of steles out into the open, Nash examined them closely.

Since they weren't raw knowledge or information, the [Library Module System] couldn't decrypt them.

To his surprise, however, as he studied them, the [Runic Analysis Module System] began to activate.

"Huh? Isn't this just a runic program?" Nash thought, shocked by the discovery.

Although it had transformed into a physical form that changed beyond recognition, the [Runic Analysis Module System] could still see through its essence at a glance.

But as Nash turned to another stele, he noticed something else.

"This is a runic command?"

Though his current genetic ability limited him to seeing only the runic program, he still noticed the difference between these runic programs and the one in front.

Typically, runic programs were built from universally similar runic commands.

Like plants and animals, they shared the same genetic makeup drawn from nature.

However, the other steles had an unnatural composition of runic program, as if it were a genetically altered plant or animal.

This led Nash to conclude that these seemingly complex blocks of runic programs were composed of different fundamental runic commands.

"Is this the difference between elements and universe laws?"

From what he had read, runic language was divided into three stages: first was derived from the simplest elements, then the universal law, and finally, the most mysterious origins of the universe.

Following this pattern, the simplest elements should correspond to the control of runic programs, while universe laws were similar to runic commands!

"Interesting… Does this mean I can already mobilize the elements?" Nash thought, intrigued.

Elements were something only Void Venerates and above could control. But since he could manipulate runic programs, could he use them as leverage to influence elements in a physical form?

"I'll research this later…" Nash noted.

For now, his task was to decipher all the elemental runic language in these steles and engrave it into a physical entity.

Starting with the first elemental runic language stele, Nash took a few minutes to thoroughly understand it.

"So, this is the runic language 'strengthen'," Nash nodded, grasping its purpose.

Though not written in words, understanding how each runic program interacted with the physical world felt like learning a new language.

Soon, he deciphered the next, which corresponded to 'sharpen', then another for 'toughen ', a third for 'lighten', and the fourth, fifth, and sixth.

Within a few hours, Nash mastered all 118 basic elemental runic languages.

As for the thousands of others, they were either pure runic language made of runic commands or a combination of the two, which he couldn't currently decipher.

After all, his genetic ability only allowed him to see and manipulate runic programs, not runic commands.

Unless his genetic ability advanced, Nash could only study these for now.
