Chapter 449: I Can Assimilate Everything! IV
As Achilles continued to assimilate the unseen particles of the Regulations of Spatial Tension and Quantum, reality itself seemed to bend around him like light through a prism made of possibility.
Each particle absorbed, each framework integrated, brought new understanding that transcended mere knowledge.
This was comprehension at the cellular level and wisdom written into the very quarks that composed his being.
The more he understood and assimilated, the more he felt like he was grasping terrifying fundamental forces that would allow him to do anything.
Anything.
The word echoed through his consciousness with the weight of absolute potential.
Not hyperbole, not ambitious hope.
Instead, it felt like…certainty. If he could manipulate the framework that kept existence from collapsing and simultaneously control the quantum uncertainty that allowed it to exist in the first place, then what couldn't he accomplish?
His mind buzzed with vigor and power as thoughts of his father surfaced…not the meeting in dreams or memories, but the actual man.
The Eighth Adrastia Emperor King who had told him to live well, to protect Arya and Rose, to carry forward a legacy that seemed doomed to end in tragedy.
He had also told him that as the Last Adrastia Emperor King, many things were possible for him which were not possible to those before him.
And he had hopes. He had dreams that were mere fantasies before!
He had dreams of…what if.
What if his Father was still here. What is his mother was still here.
What if!
But they had only been dreams and nothing else.
Until…now.
Possibily, until now!
If Achilles had truly become one with these terrifying Regulations…if he had genuinely assimilated them and could manipulate them in ways others couldn't even imagine, could he not do the impossible?
"Time," he spoke to the void, his voice carrying the defiance of someone who had just realized the prison bars were made of paper. "Time is just another dimension, another distance to be negotiated. If Quantum Tunneling allows particles to pass through barriers they shouldn't be able to cross by existing on both sides simultaneously until probability collapses..."
His eyes blazed brighter as the theory crystallized.
"Then why can't I tunnel through temporal barriers? Time isn't special…it's just another coordinate in spacetime. The past isn't gone; it's just... there, at a different coordinate than here. And if I can manipulate the quantum probability of my position..."
…!
The past…as a coordinate in spacetime.
Others could not go to such coordinate. There was no way to. They did not know how or where to begin.
But with the Regulations that made up existence itself coursing through him right now…
The implications crashed through his consciousness like stellar waves.
He could theoretically achieve what others said was impossible…Quantum Tunneling through time itself.
Not time travel in the conventional sense of moving along a timeline, but literally tunneling through the temporal barrier the same way particles tunneled through solid walls.
"Why…should the bindings of current quantum entanglements keep me here?" His voice rose with tyrannical certainty, each word a declaration of war against limitation itself.
"If I can assimilate anything, why should I be constrained by the same limitations as other beings? I want to travel across existence itself to a past time! To a past coordinate!"
…!
Quantum…was the answer.
The distance covered across time was paradoxical…simultaneously zero and infinite.
At the quantum level, time itself was just another probability waiting to collapse.
Past, present, and future existed in superposition until observation forced them to choose.
And if he could manipulate that choice, if he could use Quantum Tunneling to exist on both sides of the temporal barrier simultaneously...
Oh!
The concept was beautifully simple once he understood it!
Just as a particle could tunnel through a wall by having a probability of existing on both sides, he could tunnel through time by having a probability of existing in multiple temporal positions!
The barrier of "now" was no more absolute than any other barrier…it only seemed that way to beings trapped in linear temporal experience.
And as of this point, he was not a being trapped in linear temporal experience.
Not anymore.
So..
"I shall go back!" he roared to the Star Seas, his voice making nearby space ripple with the force of his will.
"Simply a few years! A proof of concept, a demonstration that even time itself must bow to one who has assimilated its foundations!"
HUUM!
Multicolored waves of light erupted from his form, each one a probability wave collapsing and reforming, searching for the right configuration.
Reality around him began to stutter, showing multiple versions of the same moment as his quantum state became increasingly uncertain.
He was there and not there, now and then, a particle existing in temporal superposition.
WAP!
The sound wasn't really a sound…it was existence expressing surprise in the only way it could.
The body of Achilles vanished, not moving through space but simply ceasing to exist at those coordinates while simultaneously beginning to exist at others.
Only the glimmer of a terrifying outburst of energy remained, residue that looked like multiple black holes had exploded and then been convinced to explode backwards, their event horizons turned inside out.
Space itself bore scars that would take years to heal, probability wounds that made that region of space slightly more uncertain than it should be!
—
Across Existence.
The Colony City of Neon existed in a state of controlled chaos that its residents called normal.
Streets carved from compressed sstone wove between buildings that grew rather than being built, their surfaces constantly adapting to the needs of their inhabitants.
The mixture of technology and raw Evolutius Energy created an atmosphere where the impossible was merely expensive and the expensive was just another day!
Aerial Vessels cut through the sky in designated lanes, their engines humming with the sound of physics being politely ignored.
Some were sleek personal transports for the wealthy, others bulky cargo haulers bringing supplies from different areas or from other Colony Cities of the Lunaris Colony Dynasty!
