Chapter 90: Clash Inside Viscount Duncan Manor
"Where do we buy it from?" asked Lena.
Their steps came to a stop when they reached the first floor, stepping into the lounge where Luke and Lyra were relaxing together with Liam.
All three of them turned their attention to the side, staring at Gideon who had just arrived.
"How was it?" asked Luke.
Gideon did not answer with words, but just a look of his eyes was enough. The chemistry between them had already formed well. Luke only chuckled, realizing they truly could not be relied upon.
"You shameless people!" Luke complained.
"What do we do?" Luke asked again.
"We're going home," answered Gideon.
"Wait!"
A woman's voice came clearly from behind Gideon's back, making both him and Lena turn around. The woman who called him was none other than Anastasya, coming while holding a glass of wine.
"I can grant your other requests. Don't look at me as if I am a wicked person," Anastasya said.
"Thank you for your understanding, Your Majesty the Queen. However, we do not need anything else. We can get it with our own hands," replied Gideon, bowing his head in respect.
"King Moko is very impressed by the way you fight. If you help us make weapons like that, he will grant you the title of Duke," said Anastasya.
Gideon glanced at his SIG M17. He already guessed that the black iron weapons belonging to him and his team were treasures of great value in everyone's eyes.
With one sword, at least five to ten people could be killed in one battle depending on strength and body condition. The stronger, the more that could be killed.
But with one rifle, far more could be killed with only one magazine, where no extra strength was needed, only focus and the sharpness of the eyes to aim at the target.
Of course, Gideon and his team's weapons were the most ideal weapons that could be used by anyone, without requiring special skills.
"No," answered Gideon.
"We cannot hand our weapons over to you. That would bring unimaginable destruction," Gideon stated.
"You are not ready for this technology."
"Gideon," said Liam, standing beside Queen Anastasya.
"You are the Baron I appointed to replace Nozel. A Baron obeys me," Liam declared.
"Give one of your weapons to Her Majesty the Queen. The noble status of Duke is something rare, valuable, and prestigious."
"Forgive me, Viscount Duncan. I am willing to give up my noble title as long as this weapon stays in my hands," Gideon explained.
Duncan's eyes glared forward. Stripping Gideon of his title, after his recent good performance, was not wise.
But if Liam did not oppose him right now, Queen Anastasya would begin to doubt his loyalty.
"Then I am forced to take it by force," Liam replied.
"Listen to my command. Gather all the soldiers. Do not let Baron Gideon and his team escape!" Liam ordered firmly.
The situation grew tense, complicated, and full of seriousness. Gideon drew his SIG M17 and released the safety. Lena and the others did the same.
"Luke. Secure the escape route!"
"Lyra. Lena. Help cover Luke!"
"You're clear to shoot!"
"Understood, Captain!" they replied firmly.
The mansion doors burst open. Luke, with Lyra and Lena, moved quickly to secure the front gate of the Viscount's residence.
BANG!
A gunshot thundered outside the mansion. Gideon stepped back as the situation grew more tense. Liam and Queen Anastasya ran, trying to chase Gideon.
They looked shocked. The soldiers blocking Luke were lying dead on the ground, their blood pooling across the front yard floor, halting Anastasya's steps as she refused to let her feet touch the spreading blood.
The front gate of the mansion had been taken over by Luke, with Lyra and Lena continuing to fire ahead, stopping several unarmored soldiers charging the gate.
"W-What is this—"
Queen Anastasya looked shocked, pale, and trembling with sheer terror. Her hands and feet shook, her lips quivering from panic and cold.
For the first time she saw Gideon's team in action. Before, she had only heard about it directly from Norton.
"This is madness. Such terrifying power!" Anastasya exclaimed.
"With this power, the Kingdom of Moko could rule the world!" she continued.
Gideon finally reached outside the front gate of Viscount Duncan's mansion, while Luke and the others asked about his condition. He told them he was fine.
"Stop," commanded Queen Anastasya.
The battle ceased. The soldiers stopped chasing, Gideon also stopped shooting. He told his team to reload their magazines to prevent a sudden crisis.
"I understand why you will not hand over that weapon. Are you planning to become the strongest person in this world?" asked Anastasya.
"This weapon is my private property, it came with me when my friends and I were stranded."
"You don't need to worry, Your Majesty the Queen. I have other weapons back in the village, bigger, stronger, and capable of killing even more people," answered Gideon.
"I also have weapons that can kill someone without them ever knowing, just like what happened to the commander of the Southern Moko army."
"At least work together with us. We will help you," Anastasya replied.
Baron Gideon's carriage was ready. Luke and the others were still standing, waiting for Gideon to finish his conversation with Anastasya.
"We can trade other things, but don't expect us to hand our weapons to you."
"If there's nothing else, my team and I will take our leave," Gideon replied.
He and his team boarded the carriage. Liam allowed the city soldiers to clear the road for them to leave.
Not only Anastasya, but Liam as well was seeing Gideon's ghost team fight directly up close for the first time.
"They are different from the natives of this world. Your Majesty the Queen must be careful."
"Interesting, truly interesting."
"Do you have a plan, Your Majesty the Queen?" Liam asked.
Anastasya nodded. Gideon's team would follow what Gideon said. The only way to defeat them was to defeat Gideon first.
But Gideon was a tough knight from another world, bearer of terrifying weapons of mass destruction.
She had to do something so that Gideon would not grow suspicious of her plan.
"Send 150 wagons of food to Rockvalley. Make sure it is the best and warmest food," Anastasya ordered.
"But that is half of the entire Viscount's noble food supply for this month. I fear—"
"Just send it to him. Do you object, Viscount Duncan?" Anastasya asked sharply, giving him a piercing look.
"Of course not, Your Majesty the Queen."
Elsewhere, Gideon could finally breathe easier after seeing they had left the city safely. The conflict that broke out inside Viscount Duncan's mansion was something that had never happened before.
"What will their reaction be to what we have done?" Luke asked.
"We wait a few days."
"What if they decide to go to war against us?" Luke asked.
"Then load your mags and aim properly. We'll fight back."
