Chapter 176: Damaged Second Qi Core
At this point, it was excessively unnecessary to attempt curing her wounds. When it comes to healing with the Holy Element, I knew the basics of the basics— that is, you have to start with the roots of the ailment before. That's why, before I could do anything, I had to examine Wu Jia's body as thoroughly as possible.
She was delirious, so there was a good chance that she knows what's happening right now, albeit a bit foggy.
I'm really really really sorry I had to do this Wu Jia. And yes, I said that three times so you would know how serious and sincere I am about this apology. I just hope that you won't bear any grudges or resentment against me.
I'm not obligated to say this but I guess I should just leave it out there for everyone's understanding. Just as I pointed out before, intricately working with Qi Energy requires no disturbances... be it in the air, or be it in the clothes that slightly make every Qi Energy reading inaccurate.
"Everyone, I hope you understand but could you please look away?" I asked as I began the operation, a dry saliva hung on my throat, not wanting to let go no matter how many times I gulped. Why do these uncomfortable things only happen at such serious moments?
I didn't need to command the nurses twice since they immediately faced the walls and raised their hands as if they were being held at gunpoint. I have no idea why they're acting like this but they probably didn't want to disrupt my concentration by doing unnecessary movements. How thoughtful of them... but they're just making me uncomfortable. "You don't have to raise your hands, just don't move too much," I instructed.
"The reason why I told you to stay here is that you've almost drained your Qi Core. I covered the whole place with a thin strand of Qi Energy from my Holy Element. Over time, your fatigue will go away. Once you feel better, you can slowly head out of the room and prepare yourselves if other patients would come today. Of course, without looking back. I don't want you to see my unconventional means of healing since I'm the only one who could do it. Do you usually have a lot of patients every day?"
All of them shook their heads.
Figures, this is the clinic which is by the edge of the Red Sea Shelter. Only those desperate will come here. I guess the nurses here have their own set of difficulties, huh.
Once I've fully secured their gazes onto the wall, I started stripping Wu Jia off her clothes. Even with the multiple scars and deep wounds all over it— adding to that, most of her muscles and fats were gone because of the Qi Core exploding— she still had an alluring figure. I don't know what it is with female cultivators but their proportions are built differently compared to normal women. Was it because of the martial arts and cultivation techniques they practiced? Or was it because the elements are attuned too much to nature that they age slowly. Or do they hit puberty twice? All those questions are still left unanswered in my mind until now.
And then, of course, there's me who looked five years younger because of the System... or maybe it was because of my weird constitution of being a rabid human with my consciousness intact. And now that I mentioned it... why do I have blood when I'm already dead? Was it due to the Blood Element? Shen Rong did mention that he was bitten before but he managed to survive after awakening the Blood Element... so maybe that was the reason... but Shen Rong doesn't look exactly young either... or maybe he looked way older than before?
I shook my head. Yongrui! Focus on the task at hand!
Well, thinking about those things was a good distraction from Wu Jia's killer beauty. She's what you'll call an authentic Asian beauty, with her silky smooth black hair and foxlike eyes with a deep grayish color. Pair that with her jade-like skin and her lips with its natural cherry color... ah! Focus!
After removing the unnecessary covering over her, I closed my eyes tightly shut as I made my hands float all over her body. You're probably wondering why I'm doing this when I already know that her Qi Core exploding was the root cause of all this... but it's not. The explosion of her Qi Core is just the effect of something that went wrong in her body. I still don't know what it is but once I get to the bottom of it, I might have a chance on saving her.
While all this was happening, I coated Wu Jia with another layer of my Qi Energy just so her wounds would remain that way. I didn't want her condition to get worse when it already is. Right now, I'm at a stalemate of constantly healing her just enough to keep her body on the edge of stability while looking for the origins of her ailment.
"I swear if this is another case of a second Qi Core developing, I'm going to shout for joy," I told myself since that's the only reasonable diagnosis I could come up with.
But as it turned out... my diagnosis wasn't too far-fetched!
As soon as I got to where her destroyed Qi Core was, I saw a fragment that shouldn't have existed there. That's right, it was a fragment of a different Qi Core altogether, much like how my other Qi Cores are different from each other.
White's pressure! It was probably the catalyst to her reawakening of a new Qi Core. No wonder she has much better control over her Time Element even though she was just in the Immortal Realm. Her Second Qi Core was probably on the verge of manifesting and after feeling White's Qi Energy Pressure, it must've absorbed the pure Qi Energy in the air, forcing her to reawaken earlier than expected.
