I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan

Chapter 352: 303

"The pursuers are catching up! Hold on tight!"

In the rearview mirror, several military Humvees and countless black-and-white police cars roared toward them, sirens blaring. In the first Humvee, a soldier in camouflage was leaning out from the vehicle's central hatch. A rocket launcher rested on his shoulder. Unlike a small car, a large van like this could maintain its balance relatively easily once it picked up speed, but any slight error in operation could still cause it to roll over.

The sound of stray bullets peppering the van's chassis was relentless. Xiao Qianxi and Situ Xiaojing had already plastered all the bulletproof vests against the rear doors, but that would only hold for so long.

On every street the van tore through, people screamed in terror, assuming it was a police crackdown on criminals. In truth, it wasn't far off to call Xia Liang and his group criminals.

"We can't just passively take these hits! Think of a way to fire back," Xia Liang commanded.

The van's performance limited its top speed; he couldn't just drive it like a Bugatti. The vehicles in pursuit, however, were all police and military grade. They were modified, so even if their driving skills couldn't compare to Xia Liang's, they weren't being left behind.

Xiao Qianxi had already assembled a Negev general-purpose machine gun. Her pretty face was cold as she kicked open one of the rear doors and began to return fire.

What a fierce woman. I like that.

RATATATAT…

The pursuing convoy hadn't expected their target to possess such overwhelming firepower. In a single exchange, several of their vehicles were riddled with holes, turned into sieves.

"Pigtails, how far are we from the docks?"

Amidst a pile of bulletproof vests, Situ Jing's fingers flew across a keyboard. A few seconds later, his expression was uglier than if he were crying.

"Six kilometers. But the satellite imagery shows that all docks and airports are under military control. We can't get there at all."

Xia Liang yanked the wheel again, sharply swerving to dodge an incoming rocket.

BOOM!

The heatwave from the blast made the van's chassis start to get scorching hot, only to cool down again from the rapid speed.

"Find the nearest military base! And navigate me there."

"A military base? What for?" Situ Jing thought Xia Liang wanted to steal a helicopter to escape, but even a helicopter wouldn't have enough fuel to fly all the way to Maple Country.

"I have a way to get us out of this," Xia Liang yelled. "You... Explosive! Give her your spot. Aren't you good with explosives? Go blow those bastards behind us to pieces for This Master!"

"Using high explosives on a main street could very well harm innocent people," Explosive said anxiously.

"What the hell do I care about them? Right here, right now, our lives are more precious than anyone else's. When I tell you to blow them up, you blow them up."

"You're the one who said it," Explosive replied, his expression changing in an instant, all previous caution gone. "If the Dragon King scolds me for this later, you'd better be there to back me up."

Hmph! You tricked me last time when we were transporting the corpses. It's my turn to get you back now, isn't it? Explosions are my favorite! Who gives a damn about the innocent? If I wasn't afraid of getting chewed out when we get back, I'd have started long ago.

The pursuers in the rear were gnashing their teeth in frustration. They had fired countless bullets and rockets, yet not a single one had hit the target. That seemingly cumbersome van was weaving and dodging like it had cheats enabled, while their own side was constantly suffering casualties. Every few moments, another one of their vehicles would be destroyed.

"Air support is being prepared! Brothers, keep pushing..."

"See that woman in the black evening dress with the machine gun? She's the most captivating woman I've ever laid eyes on."

"Damn, she's feisty. I never knew Eastern women were so badass! She's definitely earned my respect."

"May God protect her from getting killed by a stray bullet. If she survives, I'd love to be the one to 'tame' her."

The soldiers in the Humvee were all elites who had been to the battlefield more than once. Consequently, they felt little fear in the face of death. They knew that fear would only hasten their demise.

「The castle.」

The Lionheart King had already departed. Hades watched the oversized screen alone, leisurely sipping a century-old vintage wine. All sea routes were blockaded, and no planes would be taking off from the airports.

Heh... let's see where you can run.

Just then, he saw numerous objects resembling bouncy balls fall from the van's rear doors. They hit the ground and bounced back up, heading straight for the pursuing convoy.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Each small sphere exploded on contact with a vehicle. While their individual destructive power wasn't as great as a hand grenade's, there were just so many of them. A dozen of the small bombs were enough to overturn several Humvees. In a short span, three Humvees and five police cars were left as smoking ruins.

"Nice work!" Xia Liang shouted in praise.

As expected of our top demolitions expert. He could even make explosives into a work of art.

"Turn left at the next intersection and enter the on-ramp," Situ Jing said from the passenger seat, eyes glued to his tablet. "We're going in the complete opposite direction. The docks are to the west, the military base is east. What exactly are you planning?"

Xia Liang shifted gears and accelerated again. "A plan to keep us alive! Also, find a way to contact Shangjing. The sooner, the better."

At a certain military base, most of the soldiers had been urgently dispatched to fortify Gold Mountain City. When it came to outlaws, America's policy had always been "better to kill the wrong person than let one escape." They just never imagined that the outlaws, instead of fleeing toward the coast, would instead head deeper east, inland.

The few soldiers guarding the main gate saw a van speeding toward them from a distance. Before they could even shout a warning, one of them had his head blown off.

At that moment, Xiao Qianxi was sitting in the passenger seat, holding an anti-materiel sniper rifle.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Three bullets instantly took down the soldiers at the gate, with one shot even scoring a double kill.

The fence was smashed through as the van drove in. Under normal circumstances, breaking into an American military base would be next to impossible. But at this particular moment, the base was nearly empty. Besides, in America's several-hundred-year history, no one had ever been this audaciously insane.
