I Became the Only Non-mage in the Academy

Chapter 254: Knight King (5)

“Elite members, huh.”

The head of the Merchen family recalled what had just transpired in the meeting room.

The individual who provoked the one calling herself the Heavenly Demon was someone who had recently reached the highest rank. If Korea had the Red, Blue, and Green Towers, then England had the White Tower.

Although he was over seventy years old, he had once been considered a promising candidate for Ershil’s fiancé.

The Master of the White Tower.

Even though he couldn’t fully control his own power, the Master of the White Tower dared to provoke the Heavenly Demon.

He didn’t think it was necessarily a bad thing. After all, the Savior known as Lee Seo-ha had always been a bit of a thorn in his side.

He thought it might not be a bad opportunity to reorganize the hierarchy.

However, there was one thing that concerned him.

Lee Seo-ha. The boy who bore the title of the Savior.

His record of subjugating the Sword Saint single-handedly. He was also the first to take down one of the Great Evils.

Even though the Great Evil had been weakened by various injuries, there had been no such circumstances in the case of the Sword Saint.

Lee Seo-ha had accomplished it alone, without the aid of a transcendent.

Some claimed that those achievements were false and that the video of him defeating the Great Evil was fabricated. But everyone present knew the truth.

The video was real.

At the end, the dragon-like figure in the video had such overwhelming destructive power that it could block the breath attack created from the magical power of the Sword Saint.

That alone was reason enough for Lee Seo-ha to qualify as an elite member.

“That rookie?”

The White Tower Master twisted his lips.

Hearing that, the woman known as the Heavenly Demon smiled even more deeply, as if inviting a challenge.

It was a matter of pride.

The White Tower Master hesitated.

‘Should I go further?’

A peculiar sense of foreboding arose.

This wasn’t like Sigurd, Beowulf, or Medea—it was a different kind of ominousness.

‘The Heavenly Demon.’

He didn’t understand the meaning behind the name.

It seemed to come from the language of an Eastern country, but it didn’t appear to be tied to any myths.

For that reason, the White Tower Master raised his staff.

“Spellcasters are always so simple.”

The Heavenly Demon casually clenched her fist.

“Are we fighting here?”

“Does it matter?”

“Well…”

Lee Seo-ha nodded at The Heavenly Demon’s words.

It didn’t matter. The White Tower Master would not be able to handle rhe Heavenly Demon. Furthermore, someone with the Energy of Defying Heaven was a natural nemesis to magicians.

Whirrr.

Mana surged from the staff. Magic circles began forming. The Heavenly Demon grinned savagely and lightly leapt forward.

“Too slow.”

The spell activated swiftly.

If the Red Tower wielded fire, the Green Tower used the forest, and the Blue Tower controlled water, then the White Tower employed general-purpose magic.

It didn’t specialize in any one attribute, but it used all elements—a cradle of wisdom. The White Tower Master’s magic, which earned him his title, was both quick and powerful.

A lightning spear formed.

Although difficult to handle, its speed and lethality were unparalleled among spells, earning it the title of the pinnacle of magic.

And that spear was hurled at The Heavenly Demon.

Crunch.

The Heavenly Demon caught it with her bare hand.

“What the…?!”

The blackened hand extinguished the lightning spear. The Heavenly Demon began walking forward. The White Tower Master cast another spell.

Magic circles were inscribed all around. The Heavenly Demon observed them with a smirk.

“Spellcasters, whether from this world or another, trust their magic too much.”

The magic activated.

Dozens of spinning magic circles spewed forth spells. The Heavenly Demon observed them.

With an expression of utter disdain.

“Just one glance, and I understand. This magic is far too standardized. Is it the result of trying to use too many at once? A consequence of choosing mediocrity?”

As she spoke, she opened her hand. A dark energy began to gather, writhing. She clenched her fist tightly, then hurled it at the magic circles.

Crack.

The magic was nullified. The mana-formed threads were severed. The magic circles created by the White Tower Master were completely invalidated.

The Heavenly Demon gazed down at the White Tower Master with arrogant eyes.

From above, looking down, like a strong being observing the weak.

‘Not very efficient.’

Lee Seo-ha observed the Heavenly Demon with curious eyes.

The Energy of Defying Heaven. There wasn’t much for him to learn from the way she utilized it.

There wasn’t the same brilliance as when martial arts were created.

“What are you looking at so intently?”

“Her movements, as the Heavenly Demon fights.”

“Ah, there’s much to learn from her.”

Kim Seo-hyun remarked with a smile.

There was indeed much to learn from her movements. Lee Seo-ha agreed. Each of her motions inspired him.

He could feel his talent as a Sword Saint, which hadn’t fully matured, solidifying further.

“But you’ve changed a lot too, Seo-ha.”

“You can tell?”

“Yeah. There used to be a few spots where I thought, ‘If I strike here, it’ll work.’”

Kim Seo-hyun extended a finger and touched Lee Seo-ha’s abdomen.

“Solid… Hmm. But now, there are hardly any such spots left.”

“Really?”

Lee Seo-ha smiled.

He knew that if anyone’s perspective was accurate, it would be Kim Seo-hyun’s.

Kim Seo-hyun stared at him with a dazed expression as he smiled brightly. Had he ever smiled like this before? And at her compliment?

‘I… I must really like him.’

Kim Seo-hyun also had moments when she smiled like that.

It was when she was acknowledged by someone she liked. As expected, the rumors about him dating Hong Yu-hwa were almost entirely baseless.

There was no way Lee Seo-ha, who was always portrayed as a philanderer dating one girl after another, would actually be such a person…

‘Or is he?’

Kim Seo-hyun couldn’t be certain about that one thing.

After a brief commotion, the meeting resumed.

The direction of the meeting was roughly decided.

The plan was to target Adolf Hitler with elite members.

Most of the group would maintain the frontline, ensuring that nothing else could interfere when Adolf Hitler was being taken down.

“First, it would be good if Lady Heavenly Demon could go there.”

“Alright.”

The head of the Merchen family, much more courteous than before, spoke.

The Heavenly Demon nodded as if it were only natural.

I was lost in thought.

Where would I be most effective?

‘If an Apostle is summoned, it would be best for me to block them at their location.’

Among the current forces, there weren’t many reliable figures.

The only transcendent here was the Heavenly Demon. There was also Seo Ga-yeon, but Seo Ga-yeon’s role was akin to that of a spear—capable of piercing through everything about an Apostle, with the strongest offensive power.

That’s why, among the current forces, it made the most sense for me to face the Apostle.

Of course, this was assuming an Apostle would indeed be summoned.

“Next, we have the milestones: Seo Ga-yeon-nim, the Savior Lee Seo-ha-nim, and Lady Seolhwa Ryeon, who came on his recommendation…”

The members were called one by one.

Watching this, I thought to myself.

We would step onto Nazi soil and sever Hitler’s head.

But that approach wasn’t necessarily the best one.

Even a dog had an advantage in its own yard. The region, controlled by the foreign faction known as the Black Sun, interfered with space and time to create its own domain.

In that place, Mines were created endlessly. They didn’t even need human sacrifices, relying solely on magic energy.

Although this resulted in lower quality, their sheer numbers allowed for the mass production of creatures like Black Goats.

And that was not all. The so-called elites there revived immediately upon death and healed their wounds instantly.

If that were the only problem, we’d be lucky.

Most forces entering that domain found their power significantly weakened.

By rank, the gap was about half.

Most of the people here were at the Upper Rank or higher, but entering that area meant most of them might drop to the Middle Rank.

‘It would be best to lure Hitler out.’

As I contemplated this, it felt like an idea was forming.

“What are you thinking so deeply about?”

Ershil’s hair swayed as she asked me.

Originally, this seat had been for the Heavenly Demon, but while the Heavenly Demon was giving the White Tower Master a lesson, Ershil had quietly taken her place.

“How to lure Hitler out.”

“Ah, fighting on that land does sound dreadful.”

Ershil shuddered as if recalling unpleasant memories.

“So you’re thinking of luring Hitler. But that’s not so easy…”

Ershil trailed off and looked at me.

From head to toe.

“It might be possible, though?”

“…Do you have a method?”

“If someone Hitler is obsessed with appears in his front yard, that should do it.”

“Someone he’s obsessed with…”

There was someone.

“Shall we?”

It had been a while, so I wasn’t used to wearing a coat. I tucked my hand into my pocket and opened a subspace. From it, I retrieved a mask.

-Will Hitler really come just because of this?

A voice came through the radio in my ear.

The tone was full of doubt. Honestly, I wasn’t sure either. There seemed to be about a fifty-fifty chance.

-I never expected you to be the Savior. It seems like what people were saying was true in some ways.

The commanding officer struck up a conversation.

It was Medea, the Witch of Betrayal—a heroic magician sent by the Greek faction.

Given the nature of the mission, I had to reveal part of my identity.

“Well, it’s about time for that anyway.”

However, it was still a bit dangerous to reveal Veritas.

For now, the Savior was best known as someone who excelled only in physical strength.

-Oh, by the way, could I get an autograph?

“Later.”

-Wow, your voice changes completely just by putting on a mask. Totally my type… Eek!

Medea fell silent.

Someone next to her must have stopped her.

I pulled out a dagger from my coat.

It was meant to be seen as flashy but not too overbearing.

At the forefront of Nazi territory—

Fwoosh!

Golden flames erupted. The flames spread across the ground, devouring the surrounding mana for alchemy and growing larger.

Rumble!

I added Destruction of Heaven to it.

Lightning and flames intertwined. Golden lightning and flames began devouring the area.

Since it was the first time, I went lightly.

-You’ve come at last, my nemesis!

Thankfully, the response came quickly.

It was a big catch.
