Chapter 436: Reporters
It took a moment for me to adjust to the flashing lights coming from in front of me.
When I got used to them, I found that they were flashing lights that came from the flashes of cameras.
There were a bunch of people with cameras standing at the exit of the dungeon, all pointing them at me and taking photos of me.
I didn't know why they were doing it at first until I slowly realized who they were.
They were part of the press.
I could see that based on the press badges that they wore.
After all, there was a certain distance that people had to keep from the entrances of dungeons.
Only those that had a certain level of clearance would be allowed to approach the dungeon entrances in the first place. It was only those that were either involved with raiding dungeons or obtaining information related to the dungeons that would be allowed to approach.
These people were part of the latter.
These people were members of the press that would report on matters related to the dungeon.
They would give the normal people information about the dungeons, but in return for the right to approach the dungeons like this, they would be asked to hide certain information when the time came.
It was a relationship that was both beneficial to the organizations that controlled the dungeons and the press.
For them to appear in this place, there was no doubt that it had been arranged.
I looked at Su Chen and found that he wasn't stopping them, which meant that it was very likely that Elementia had arranged for these reporters to be here.
At the same time, it even looked like Su Chen was encouraging me to go and talk to the reporters with the way that he looked at me.
I knew that there had to be some reason why they had sent me to this dungeon in the first place, I just never expected it to be something like this.
They were turning this into some kind of press conference…
"Mr Lin, do you have time for a few questions?" One of the reporters suddenly came forward and asked this question.
I was caught off guard by it, but seeing the way that Su Chen looked at me with his encouraging gaze…
I gave a simple nod in response.
At this, the same reporter said, "After taking first place in the tournament, why did you suddenly come to a place like this? Isn't it better to rest after that big tournament?"
That was the same question that I had for Su Chen, but I never got an answer from him.
In the end, it was actually one of the other reporters that answered this question.
"Don't you already know that there were risks of this dungeon breaking? It's only natural that they would send someone to take care of this dungeon break before it happened." The reporter said in a tone as if this was a natural thing before adding, "If you can't even get this kind of basic information, please stop wasting everyone's time."
The first reporter revealed an awkward look when he heard this.
But I said, "Now, now, everyone is entitled to their questions, there's no need to put anyone down."
Turning to the first reporter, I said, "I didn't plan anything during this period, but I was called to the guild this morning and heard about this mission. When I heard what it was for, I decided that I had to do my part."
The eyes of the reporters lit up when they heard this and they quickly started writing things down.
At the same time, I could see that Su Chen's eyes lit up as well as if he approved of what I said.
After all, what I said not only made myself look good, it also made the guild look good.
It made the guild look like a guild that cared very much about the people that they would even send someone to take care of a low grade dungeon like this when it was about to break.
Especially since they sent someone like me who had even won the tournament.
At the same time, it made me look good because I was someone that wasn't arrogant enough that I would look down on something like this.
Even if it wasn't true, this was something that the reporters ate up since it would give them a good story.
The reporters then went on to ask several more questions which I answered easily.
I knew what they wanted to hear, so it wasn't hard for me to give them the answers that they wanted. But at the same time, I made sure to give them a few twists so that it would give them a better story.
When it was done, Su Chen came forward to separate me from the reporters while saying, "Everyone, it's time for Mr Lin to rest. I hope that you will excuse us now."
The reporters didn't push the matter and just let Su Chen take me away.
The looks on their faces made it clear that they had already gotten more than enough for them to write their articles, so they were satisfied with everything that they had gained already.
They would need me for future articles, so there was nothing to gain from leaving a bad impression.
Su Chen brought me back to the car and then quickly drove off.
After we were a certain distance from the dungeon, I asked, "Was this what the guild wanted to see by sending me to this place?"
Su Chen didn't even look back as he said, "Now that you have a certain amount of fame, it's only natural that you have to do things like this. It's not just for the benefit of the guild, but also for your benefit."
"Will it help me with the selection?" I asked him in response.
"It won't hurt." Su Chen said in a calm voice.
I just gave a simple nod in response without saying anything else.
Sometimes, this kind of thing was needed in a large guild.
