Chapter 1. Seria Siegfried (1)
Chapter 1. Seria Siegfried.
* * *
And so they lived happily ever after.
I thought everything would end with the wedding of the novel’s protagonists, the male and female leads.
Choi Yoo-jun – or rather Maurice.
After three years of backbreaking work as the Deputy Minister of Magic, I was finally about to return to my original world.
“Maurice Dmitri, Deputy Minister”.
Luclyde called to me, the male protagonist and emperor of this realm.
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“You have worked tirelessly to help me protect this realm, so I hereby appoint you Minister of Magic.”
“What?”
I looked up at the Emperor, surprised at his sudden declaration.
The Emperor, with his striking golden hair and blue eyes, smiled faintly at me.
For a moment I wondered what the point was, considering I’d be leaving soon anyway.
Still, I bowed my head.
“I humbly accept, Your Majesty.”
“Do your best from now on, Minister.”
‘Well. when I return, Maurice will probably be pleased.’
After all, he had fought endlessly to become Minister.
Maurice was someone who was supposed to die halfway through the original story.
He had clung to the villainess, supported her schemes from the closest vantage point, all in his desperate bid to become Minister.
Because he couldn’t afford to die.
He gave up those plans.
Thanks to that, I was able to leave him a gift before returning to my original life.
It’s a bit of a shame to leave, though.
Being a wizard was incredibly comfortable.
Still…
When exactly should I return?
* * *
Even after the wedding was over and the days had passed, I still couldn’t return to my original world.
“What is it?”
Am I really unable to return?
This could be a serious problem.
Just then –
“Minister.”
Someone knocked at the door.
“Who is it?”
“The Imperial Knights.”
“It’s open.”
A knight in elaborate armour entered the room, bowing slightly in greeting.
“What is it about?”
“It’s about the prisoner who was executed today.”
The prisoner who was executed today…
There was only one.
Seria Siegfried.
The villainess of “Finding a Happy Ending from Evil” and the mistress of the House of Siegfried, who mercilessly tormented the male and female protagonists until the very end.
Her death marked the end of the novel.
Ah, so that’s why I couldn’t leave yet.
“And what does Lady Siegfried’s execution have to do with me?”
I had desperately tried to distance myself from her to avoid any trouble.
What could the Imperial Knight possibly have to say to me now?
“It’s quicker to show you than to explain.”
Now that I noticed, the knight held a chain in his hand.
When he pulled it with some force –
Clap.
The chain rattled and a person standing behind the door stepped inside.
Tread. Step.
A naked woman, her neck and arms bound by the chains, walked into the room.
“Hmm?”
My brow furrowed as I saw her.
Why is she here?
“This is Seria, who was executed today.”
“Why is she here?”
“She underwent a status execution. She is no longer a member of the Siegfried family, nor is she a noble. In fact, she’s not even considered a person anymore.”
There are two methods of execution in the Empire.
The first is the literal taking of a life.
The second is social death.
The first is a standard execution.
The latter?
It’s a little more unique.
Everything the individual possessed as a human is stripped away, and they become the property of someone designated by the Emperor.
This was what a status execution entailed.
“You’re not going to tell me-”
“Yes, that’s right. His Majesty has appointed you, Minister Dimitri, as her custodian.”
A headache began to pound in my skull.
In the original story, Seria met her end on the execution platform, her head severed.
She was supposed to die and everything was supposed to end there.
‘Where did it all go wrong?’
The ending had been twisted.
I had done my best to keep things from straying too far from the original.
I made sure to avoid any interaction with the villainess.
Except for that one thing.
‘Could it really be that?’
What if I killed her here and now?
I turned my eyes to Seria, standing there in chains.
Her once lustrous platinum hair had lost its lustre, but her beauty remained untouched.
I scanned her naked body carefully.
Smooth, flawless skin without a hint of blemish, soft shoulders and breasts that flowed gently into delicate curves caught my attention.
‘They’re… big.’
As my eyes drifted down from her pink nipples, they fell to the small slit visible between her thighs.
It was clear, as it had been at the dawn of her birth.
Gulp
I swallowed unconsciously.
Her body was so alluring.
Perhaps she had been tortured, the red marks of capture etched into her smooth, pale skin.
‘What a waste.’
Killing someone with such potential felt like a real waste.
I dismissed the thought of ending her life.
‘Killing her here wouldn’t solve anything.’
The ending had already been twisted once.
Taking her life now wouldn’t guarantee my return to the original world.
Damn it.
“From now on you can use this woman as you wish.”
The knight’s eyes were filled with envy as he looked at me.
Seria, once called the most beautiful flower in the realm.
The untouchable jewel of the icy cliffs.
Luclyde must have sent it to me as a reward for my service – a gift to honour my contributions.
‘I appreciate the gesture, but…’
He could’ve given me money instead.
“Leave.”
“Understood.”
After dismissing the knight, I flicked my fingers idly.
But Seria stayed where she was, refusing to move.
She just stared at me.
“I’ll kill you.”
“Me, you mean?”
“You, the Emperor, and that wretched woman who took everything from me.”
Grit!
Seria clenched her teeth as she shouted.
“Yikes.”
If I had not quickly cast a spell to silence her, this could have been a nuisance.
“That cursed woman’s lapdog of a wizard!”
Seria lunged at me.
If this had happened a few days after I entered this novel, I’d probably have panicked.
But I’ve been here for three years.
I’ve fought countless battles with the Ministry of Magic.
I have been at the forefront of the Empire’s civil war, killing countless enemies.
And yet I still haven’t returned to my homeworld.
Why do I mention this?
It means I’ve had enough.
What I’m about to do to her is a way of venting my frustration.
Smack!
I snapped my fingers.
“Huh?”
Mana surged and enveloped Seria.
Her body, which had been charging at me, floated weightlessly in the air.
“Kyaaah!”
“You must have seen me fight before, right?”
I rose from my seat and met her gaze at eye level.
“Or were you really someone who never set foot on the battlefield?”
“Let me go, you trash! You pathetic scum who enjoys torturing others!”
Her body shook with anger as she glared at me, visibly seething.
“The untouchable noble flower of the realm – do you still think you’re a Siegfried?”
“Of course I do!”
Pfft.
Ah, I couldn’t help laughing.
“That was a really funny joke.”
“What?”
“Your status execution means your father abandoned you. He sacrificed you to save the Siegfried family.”
She didn’t answer.
She probably already knew.
After all, she was well versed in the laws of the Empire.
She simply couldn’t accept reality and continued to deny it to the end.
“Right now you’re nothing more and nothing less than a possession given to me by His Majesty. Whether I experiment on you, feed you to vagrants…”
I paused briefly and took a step closer to her.
“Or even play with you like this.”
I gripped her large breast firmly.
“Ugh.”
“It means you can’t resist.”
She squirmed, trying to escape my touch, but it was no use.
“So it would be wise not to waste your energy on pointless resistance.”
With that, I released the chains that bound her with my magic.
Then I placed a choker with a blue mana stone around her neck.
“This choker will now serve as your proof of identity.”
“……”
Was it relief at being freed from the chains?
Or perhaps because I had turned my back on her?
Whatever the reason, she lost her composure and reached for me again.
Snap!
“Ahh!”
With a snap of my fingers, her entire body shook.
“What… what have you done?”
“It’s a magically imbued restraint that delivers an electric shock at my command.”
“You bastard!”
Snap!
“Kyaaah!”
She still didn’t seem to have learned, so I snapped my fingers again.
A faint current coursed through her, causing Seria to jump.
Her breast trembled noticeably with her movements.
“Consider yourself lucky that I haven’t turned you into a golem. Don’t act rashly from now on.”
So what am I supposed to do with this woman?
