I never dreamed that I would still be writing the work I started from the ‘Woo Choi Gong’ contest in 2022. At the time, I entered the contest thinking it was my last work and last attempt.

As some of you may know, I wrote two works even before Deacon. All of those works were written as a result of a contest.

But the results were disastrous.

They all slipped in the preliminaries.

Deacon Deacon also followed the same path.

Looking at the low number of views and indicators in the beginning, I thought, ‘I really need to quit now.’

Even when I had just started working on this project, I really wondered if I should give up halfway through because of the personal bad things that happened. It was a time of wandering in many ways.

But once I started, I wanted to see the results. Let’s use it until the finals are announced and then judge.

If the results are not good, stop reading the novel for a while… … . No, I might have just put it aside and gone on to live this life. I really couldn’t put it off any longer.

Anyway, thanks to that, I was eliminated in the preliminaries, but I was able to continue writing. Also, a full-length episode called Episode 488, which was not planned… … .

Actually, I didn’t know it would take this long. If I were to be specific, I originally started with the idea of daily life stories mixed with cooking, so I expected it to be around 200 episodes at most.

However, thanks to the support and interest of our readers, we continued to flesh out the series, and before we knew it, we had published over 400 episodes.

At first, I started this post with the idea of just writing about a cute and pretty dragon, Nunnadeul, and some light dishes about everyday life. Regardless of my background as a cook, I also personally liked cooking.

We were able to get the attention of many readers. Of course, it would have been better if it continued all the way to the second half… … .

I was able to learn and experience so many things while serializing Deacon.

In particular, I was very thankful that it was able to be serialized in the Novelpia webcomic (I would also like to thank author OR@NGEGOON for always drawing cute and pretty cartoons).

I was really happy when I first saw Derke’s picture on the cover. I feel like the characters I set up and planned are coming to life… … . I can’t express the feelings I felt at that time.

It was a truly valuable and valuable experience.

Although it is a very lacking and immature piece of work, I am grateful that it was able to receive so much undeserved love.

Thanks to that love and attention, I was able to run to the finish almost without stopping.

And more than anything, I was happy to be able to meet readers through Deacon. I was able to gain motivation for writing by checking the comments every day.
