I Became a Mythical Knight King

Chapter 60: Infiltration (3)

Preconditions for deploying the Heavy Cavalry: Blacksmith Level 3, Metal Refinery Level 2, Stables.

All three elements were now in place.

Therefore, while riding, Yoo Seong waved his hand.

Soon, a white light spear containing the anticipated text appeared.

New unit

[Heavy Cavalry (15 units) added: 150pt]

[Heavy Cavalry reinforcement (1 unit): 15pt]

[Heavy Cavalry Commander added: 40pt]

As expected, it was expensive.

But that was anticipated.

As the overall level of Yoo Seong’s Castle and the army of light had risen, the required points had increased significantly.

And it was rather good.

It would have been troublesome if it had been something like 3 units when adding the cavalry unit for the first time, just like before.

‘The points required for a fully-equipped 20-man unit is 265 points!’

It was indeed expensive but it was manageable because Yoo Seong had been collecting points since defeating the Banshee Queen.

In particular, the points gathered during the escape from the Lord’s meeting had been effectively useful.

“Lord! They’re getting closer!”

Ruan, who had turned around, shouted urgently.

But instead of looking back, Yoo Seong continued to face forward and waved his hand.

Rene and Jillian, who could see the status window, looked at Yoo Seong’s fingertips and the status window.

“Catch them! Catch them!”

The ratman who appeared to be the commander screamed, and the ratmen riding wolf rats began to whip them.

The wolf rats increased their speed, and the distance between Yoo Seong’s group and the ratmen had now reduced to only about ten meters.

Then, Yoo Seong looked to the side.

While continuing to ride, he stretched out his hand and issued an order in a loud voice.

“Heavy Cavalry! Assemble!”

Light erupted as if driving away the darkest night just before dawn, a dazzling golden flash emitted a brilliant light like the morning sun.

“Kyaak!”

The ratmen leading the charge stumbled or fell due to the sudden light.

Thanks to this, the formation of the pursuing ratmen was thrown into disarray, but it was nothing compared to what would happen next.

In the blinding light cavalry mounted on giant warhorses appeared in a line.

True to the name of Heavy Cavalry, the riders and the warhorses were all armed with thick iron armor.

And at the head of them, a tall knight riding a brown horse held a long spear.

Unlike the other cavalry in silver armor, he wore dark blue armor with a golden dragon-shaped pattern engraved on it.

The commander of the Heavy Cavalry, Knight Roland, was wearing a helmet shaped like a dragon’s head and he pointed his spear at the side of the ratmen.

“Form a wedge formation!”

Issuing the command, Roland led the way.

Then, the knights in line expertly steered their horses to form a huge wedge-shaped formation.

“Glory to Camelot!”

“Glory to Camelot!”

As Roland shouted the battle cry and charged, the Heavy Cavalry also shouted loudly and raised their spears.

There were only twenty-one of them, including Roland, but the sight of the Heavy Cavalry charging in a wedge formation was reminiscent of a chariot legion.

“P-Pi, retreat!”

“Ugh!”

The panicked ratmen screamed and staggered, but they couldn’t avoid the oncoming charge.

The furious charge of the Heavy Cavalry slammed into the side of the ratmen.

-Bang! Crash!

The ratmen were shattered and destroyed.

More ratmen were crushed or trampled by the warhorses than were killed by the spears.

Moreover, what was terrifying was that the Heavy Cavalry’s momentum did not diminish.

“Pierce through!”

Roland commanded and trampled over the ratmen as he charged forward.

The entire Heavy Cavalry followed Roland, trampling and splitting the ratmen’s formation in half.

“Wah.”

Rene exclaimed in admiration as she watched the Heavy Cavalry tear through the ratmen’s formation.

Ruan, excited, raised his fist, and Jillian, also overwhelmed, unconsciously pressed her hands against her chest.

As Yoo Seong counted the number of ratmen here, he also estimated the number of those who must have entered the tunnel.

He remembered the locations where people were imprisoned, which Rene had checked with the light bird’s reconnaissance.

Thus, the conclusion was reached.

This wouldn’t be the end.

They aimed for more.

“Heavy Cavalry! Charge again!”

Yoo Seong shouted loudly, and Roland, leading the Heavy Cavalry, began to turn.

Seeing this, the ratmen, in their disarray, attempted to flee, causing their formation to collapse again.

“Elite Infantry! Elf Archers! Assemble!”

Yoo Seong commanded.

Having been in such a chaotic situation, Yoo Seong nearly fell off his horse, but Rene caught him.

And then, golden light burst forth.

The elite infantry led by Kate and the elf archers led by Vanadain appeared on the battlefield.

“We’ll reclaim the castle.”

Yoo Seong said, and Kate acknowledged it.

She raised her flag, and Jimmy sounded the horn loudly, and the elite infantry charged at the ratmen.

“Load! Shoot over them!”

At Vanadain’s command, the elves pulled back their bows and fired as the first arrow flew.

The arrows fired by the elves passed over the heads of the elite infantry and rained down on the ratmen’s heads.

“Kyak! Cack! Cough!”

The ratmen at the front were killed by the elite infantry’s swords, while those behind were struck by the elves’ arrows.

And those in the middle were once again struck by the devastating iron hammer of disaster.

Crashhh!

The Heavy Cavalry caused disasters on the battlefield simply by charging.

The number of ratmen was in the hundreds, but it was meaningless.

In an instant, more than a hundred were killed, and the ratmen, completely panicked, began to flee.

“Save, save us!”

“Run away!”

With Camelot’s forces to the south, the ratmen naturally fled northward—toward Lushen, where they had emerged from.

Seeing this, the ratman commander on the castle walls quickly regained his composure and urgently ordered.

“Close the gates! Hurry!”

They would abandon the ratmen who were outside.

At the ratman commander’s command, the ratmen hurriedly began to operate the gate mechanism.

“No, no!”

“Don’t close it! Don’t close it!”

The ratmen shouted desperately as they ran, but coldly, the drawbridge began to rise.

And Yoo Seong looked back at Jillian, who was already praying with both hands together.

“Omphalos’ barrier!”

The wall rose up across the drawbridge and over the ground.

The sudden appearance of the sacred barrier blocked the drawbridge, preventing it from rising, and the ratmen hurriedly crossed the bridge, clinging to the half-closed gates.

“Let us in!”

“No! Block them!”

As the ratmen argued, Roland issued a new command to the heavy cavalry.

“Close ranks! Let’s go!”

The third line formation.

Led by Roland, the heavy cavalry lined up, and Roland charged toward the gate, crossing the drawbridge.

“Ugh! Ahh!”

“No!”

The terrified ratmen screamed as they pushed against the gates.

Thanks to their efforts, the gates were opened wide, and Roland and the heavy cavalry were able to trample over the ratmen and enter the castle.

“Elite infantry! We’re going too!”

Following Kate, who raised the flag high, the elite infantry charged toward the gates.

Led by Vanadain, the elf archers didn’t follow but instead climbed the castle walls and shot arrows through the heads and chests of the ratmen who had stretched their bows outside the walls.

“Sweep them away!”

Roland continued charging without stopping, leading the heavy infantry.

Their charge, though without a clear objective, was enough to cause chaos inside the castle.

Meanwhile, the elite infantry began following the light bird above them, as they had been commanded by Yoo Seong just before charging toward the gates. They freed the people who had been locked up in places like churches or warehouses, and Jimmy shouted loudly.

“The reinforcements are here! The reinforcements have come!”

“The Black Knight of Lothian has arrived!”

“Black Knight! The Black Knight of Lothian!”

It wasn’t just Jimmy and the elite infantry.

The freed people raised their voices.

The Black Knight of Lothian had arrived.

The savior of Lothian, who had won countless victories over the army of monsters, had come.

It was Yoo Seong, whose name had already spread far and wide in the surrounding area.

The people who had been saved from the Barony of Volano now cheered with excitement at the name of Yoo Seong, who had come to save them once again.

“Wooaaah!”

The people began running, wielding whatever they could as weapons, including torches.

The situation was completely different from when they were initially suppressed by the ratmen.

There were soldiers.

There were fighters.

And most importantly, there was the Black Knight of Lothian!

The people who had lost their families and loved ones to the ratmen began to shout as they ran toward the ratmen with fury.

The ratmen, whose numbers had already been reduced to less than half due to Yoo Seong’s work and the battle outside the gates, were now in a state of broken morale and couldn’t fight properly.

This time, before the ratmen even had a chance to fight, they began to flee, and the situation inside the castle changed rapidly.

“This, this damn!”

Literally resembling a wet rat, Regal crawled out of the tunnel, cursing.

Although he had narrowly saved his life, the scene before him made it clear.

It was a failure.

Not only had he failed to annihilate the lords, but the tunnels had collapsed, and now even Lushen was about to be taken.

Regal trembled.

The lords’ deaths were the fault of the Dark Elves—no, it was the Dark Elves’ fault that this entire situation had unfolded, as they were nothing but arrogant and completely incompetent, but the chieftains would never understand that.

With such a major failure, Regal’s life was as good as gone.

“Narcis, you damn bastard!”

Narcis was nowhere to be found.

Since Regal had survived, Narcis had to be alive as well, and it was clear that he had escaped first, saw the situation inside the castle, and fled.

Regal could not contain his anger.

He wanted nothing more than to catch Narcis and tear him apart, but it was impossible.

“Haah, haah, ha.”

Regal gasped, rummaging through his coat.

He briefly stared at a vial of green liquid, then tore off the lid and gulped down the contents in one go.

“Deep… extreme… agony…”

As if poisoned, Regal choked and his eyes turned bloodshot.

His veins swelled all over his body, and his muscles began to swell, making his size increase dramatically.

It was a drug that temporarily gave ratmen the strength of ogres and the regenerative abilities of trolls.

Although it was a deadly drug that would inevitably kill the user once its effects wore off, Regal had nothing to lose now.

“Khhaaaa!”

When Regal roared, the fleeing ratmen momentarily stopped.

The instinct to obey, surpassing even survival instinct, froze them in place.

“Don’t run! Gather! Come to me!”

At Regal’s command, the ratmen began to gather around him.

Even though hundreds of ratmen still remained, their formation looked imposing as they gathered.

Even the ratmen who had been in a panic regained their composure as their numbers grew.

Yoo Seong watched the ratmen and Regal.

It was just like when he was fighting the Kobold Prince.

If he could take down that massive ratman, Regal, the rest of the ratmen wouldn’t matter. This battle would be a victory.

“Rene.”

At Yoo Seong’s call, Rene hugged his waist briefly before getting off Rainy’s back. Without saying a word, she cast a spell for recovering fatigue on Yoo Seong.

Yoo Seong smiled, and Rene also smiled faintly.

She raised her fist as if wishing him to win and return.

Kate handed Yoo Seong her flag.

With the flag tucked under his arm instead of a spear, Yoo Seong urged his horse forward, and Roland and the heavy cavalry took their place beside him.

“Sir Roland, I greet you, my lord.”

“Yoo Seong. Though the situation is not ideal, it is a great pleasure to meet you.”

Roland smiled broadly at Yoo Seong’s words.

Though his face was mostly obscured by his helmet, his lower jaw alone showed that he was a handsome man, at least as good-looking as Ruan.

Yoo Seong faced forward again.

He saw the enormous ratman, Regal, who was now between the ratmen in a clumsy line, preparing for battle.

“We’ll break through. I’ll take the lead.”

At Yoo Seong’s words, Roland smiled again, his expression bright, and replied joyfully.

“I’ll follow your command.”

Yoo Seong spurred his horse forward.

Roland and the heavy cavalry formed their wedge formation once again and followed behind Yoo Seong.

As Yoo Seong charged toward the enemy, using King’s Time, golden light flickered in his eyes.
