I Became a Malicious Streamer

Chapter 46

I heard my next-door neighbor’s house collapsed, so I went to check it out only to find that my house had collapsed instead. The moment I saw it, tears streamed down my face.

It’s exactly one of those moments where that phrase pops into your head.

I was just lying comfortably, enjoying the show of someone else’s house burning down.

But why on earth is my house burning right now?

[Why are you only arriving now? Why are you only arriving now?]

[Welcome back after 10 years ^^]

[Teacher… don’t abandon us, teacher… don’t abandon us!]

[Is there a streamer who abandons their viewers?]

[This chaotic chat room… it must be Mollru’s broadcast.]

[Taking a week off is way too much for real lol.]

I actually knew it.

That my house was going to catch fire.

To be precise, I should have thought it was already burning from long ago.

That small spark could ignite again at any moment given just a trivial trigger.

It was only natural to reap what I had sown since I hadn’t streamed once since the competition ended.

From a few experiences, I’ve learned that acting as shamelessly as possible is key here.

I tried to sound as nonchalant as possible when I casually addressed my viewers.

“Good afternoon… wonderful lunch! Let’s have a fulfilling and fun broadcast today~ Fighting!”

Turns out, I’m not that thick-skinned a person.

I tried to speak like someone who streams every day, someone who even streamed yesterday, but the words that came out of my mouth were completely different from what I was thinking.

The viewers pounced on me as if they had found a weakness.

With countless messages rushing in, I felt a bit unfair as I stared at the chat room, needing to concentrate just to see the contents.

I hadn’t just sat there quietly; I had my reasons!

“I left a notice… saying I’d take a break for a few days.”

I hadn’t just disappeared without a word; I had informed everyone beforehand and took a break.

If you compare it to a job, it could be seen as a form of vacation.

It’s good for me and good for the viewers, too.

These people must have their own lives and daily routines; it would’ve been hard for them to watch my stream all day, every day.

This was supposed to be a good opportunity for both sides to have some personal time and focus on self-development, but it seems the viewers had a different opinion.

[What?]

[Is that what you call a notice? ^^]

[Weren’t you just joking?]

[So when are you opening the cafe?]

[They keep saying we should leave on the forum.]

[Molltugi needs a new house.]

[You said a couple of days, so why a week?]

[What happened that it takes a week?]

[What did you do for a week?]

[Well, I guess you were just lounging around at a hotel with your boyfriend.]

[Hey, don’t slander our teacher!]

[You can leave now.]

[If you keep this up, I might have bad thoughts… ]

[You were the only one being serious, huh?]

“No… I took my computer in for repairs, what was I supposed to do? It just got delivered a little while ago because of the holidays.”

[Albpano?]

[For real, lol, do I care?]

[You should’ve streamed at a PC Bang or something.]

[You’ve really lost your original spirit!]

[Well, why did you spill water on it?]

[That was due to a structural flaw…]

[Flaw?]

[If it’s a flaw, then yes, it is.]

[Seems like there might be many women wanting that flaw.]

They say all this but it’s just their way of expressing how glad they are to see me after a long time.

What a bunch of not-so-honest people.

[Mint Chocolate donated 10,000 won!]

-So when are we playing Dragon Road?

“I’ll jump right in~”

Perfect timing.

Since I’ve talked for about ten minutes, the viewers should be satisfied by now.

Having drawn attention from Ryuah’s broadcast, it’s now time to meet the expectations.

Especially, it’s the chance to correct Ryuah’s frustrating gameplay.

Dragon Road, the path to the dragon.

Boys have dreamed of this since childhood.

To be a legendary hero from a fairy tale, wandering the world, meeting legendary beings, and helping people.

As time passed, the boy grew into a young man.

He buried his childhood dream and lived peacefully among people in the village.

But one day, he hears the news that a dragon has appeared.

As memories of his hidden dreams resurface, his heart races, and he heads toward the continent.

Countless trials block his way; one could say this is just the first of many.

It might seem overwhelmingly large right from the first hurdle, but what can we do?

That’s just how life goes.

But I had more than enough ability to fulfill the young man’s dream.

On a journey to meet the dragon, I couldn’t afford to waste time with such trifles.

While taking a break, I had analyzed the gameplay patterns of Ryuah and other streamers and had already figured them out.

Isn’t it strange if I can’t break through with the physical skills I’ve gained from understanding the patterns?

“This is a goburugi moment. It’s a bit fast, but if you time your rolls right, you’ll avoid it.”

(Goburugi: A guard-breaking technique)

Balak, whose name means giant soldier, boasts a massive physique.

He charges with a speed that doesn’t suit his size.

It’s just a split second, too fast to see anything but an afterimage.

In other strategies, this pattern is described as dodgeable with a stroke of luck or just being hit with no issue.

But there’s no reason to take a hit.

Let’s aim for a perfect game, why not?

As soon as I dodged the charge, the next pattern unfolded.

This is truly insidious.

-If you fail to clear this trial…

Balak adopts a charging stance.

A slow, wide horizontal slash.

Yet, this isn’t something you need to dodge; you can see it as an opportunity to counterattack.

“The motion is slow, so feel free to parry it.”

I could predict every movement.

With a clang sound, Balak’s attack is neutralized.

But unlike other units, he doesn’t wobble or lose his stance.

True to his name, the giant soldier remains unaffected by status ailments.

He has a ridiculously overpowered ability for a newbie killer, but that’s fine.

With a few slices, I could cut off his breath.

I manipulated my character to quickly ramp up my offensive.

“I’m almost done. Time to finish this.”

While casually making my concluding remarks on the hunt for Balak, the screen suddenly flashed red.

With a squish sound, my character stumbled momentarily.

My HP bar barely scratched, and at the same time, Balak groaned and fell to the ground.

-You… have won. Young warrior.

“Oh man, I did get hit… What a bummer.”

Even though I cleared it, I felt something still wasn’t right.

Of course, clearing it on the first try was an impressive feat, but my goal had been to do it without taking a hit, which deepened my frustration.

After all, Balak was a boss that theoretically could be defeated without taking a single hit.

But what can you do about things that have already happened?

I couldn’t just catch Balak again.

I gazed at the chat room with disappointment, my words failing me in sheer bewilderment.

[Ah lol, you actually got hit?]

[Somehow… seems worse than before?]

[You’ve turned into a has-been!]

[This isn’t the teacher I remembered!]

[Return our teacher! Return our teacher! Return our teacher!]

[Why are you guys acting like this? Isn’t clearing it on the first try impressive?]

[Is the atmosphere normally like this? Is it new viewers?]

[I don’t even know, lol (seriously don’t know).]

[It seems like your condition has dropped; otherwise, you would have beaten it one-handed back in the day.]

Clearly, I cleared it on my first try, and I thought they’d compliment me for it.

But man, this is just so unfair, isn’t it?

People can’t always be perfect.

And isn’t this actually quite good?

Have viewers raised their standards too high?

Is it my fault for showing them such impressive plays recently?

Watching people say I’ve turned into a has-been for taking a single hit made me raise my voice in frustration.

“Why is the standard so harsh just for me?!”
