Chapter 69: 67.1000%
Looking at the cheetah that was happily playing with itself just a moment ago, suddenly rolling on the ground like it was having a fit, struggling in pain.
Yake was dumbfounded, unsure whether to approach or not. So he cautiously kept his distance from the cheetah.
Then… the cheetah just lay there in front of him, completely still, its life seemingly snuffed out.
“What happened? Did it just stop moving? Is it playing dead?”
Yake poked the leopard with his sword, checking if this creature was truly lifeless.
“What are you poking it for?!”
“Whoa! It’s still alive! Wait, can this thing talk?!”
Hearing a voice come from the cheetah’s mouth, Yake jumped back a full stride. Then he realized that this cheetah wasn’t supposed to be talking. And that voice sounded suspiciously like Aierjisi?
“Aier? Is that you?”
“Yep, it’s your master, me!”
“Where are you? I can’t see you! Is this some invisibility trick?”
Listening to the Little Princess’s voice, Yake looked around, hearing her but not seeing her.
“That’s not it! Just hold on a sec! Whoosh!”
In the next moment, Aierjisi appeared right in front of Yake, inexplicably raising her right fist high in the air.
“Aier, where were you just now? That cheetah just dropped dead all of a sudden. You did something, didn’t you?”
“Of course! I just shrank my body and crawled inside of it. If its skin was too tough to break, then I just had to attack from the inside! That was my thought process. It worked, but I have no idea how to describe what it was like inside that thing—it was so disgusting it made me feel sick! Ugh…”
As she spoke, Aierjisi dramatically acted out a gag about throwing up against the wall, clearly repulsed.
“By the way, what about the City Lord and the others? How’s it looking?”
“I haven’t checked yet. But it should be fine. Miss Yin is really strong, and the City Lord still has some hidden trump cards.”
With their strength, it’s definitely not a problem for them to deal with A Jie and that Cyclops.
“Let’s hope so. Yake, you go check it out first. I need to rest for a bit, ugh!”
After saying that, Aierjisi resumed her act of vomiting. It seemed the price for taking down that cheetah was a short bout of nausea for her.
“Don’t worry, it won’t take long.”
Having said his goodbyes with Aierjisi, Yake rushed toward the street where the City Lord was.
Meanwhile… Yin had pulled out the belt that the City Lord had given her previously.
“City Lord, please stay back! I wouldn’t want to accidentally hurt you.”
Since the transformation was still in progress, the flames generated at the moment of transformation were likely to injure the City Lord behind her.
“No worries. I’m not as weak as you think. Transform right here, and let that overconfident little thief see the power we possess.”
“Got it. Then I won’t hold back. Transform!”
Yin activated the mechanism on the belt, reciting the catchphrase. In the next second, flames erupted from the belt, engulfing everything around.
“Just some flames, huh? They can’t harm me at all!”
A Jie extended his hand, opening a Magic Shield to block the flames from reaching him or the Giant.
When the flames subsided, Yin was enveloped in red armor.
This was a combat suit specially developed for her by the City Lord. Even someone like Yin, who had no magical talent, could flexibly use fire magic for combat while wearing it.
“Oh? Is this the equipment that you guys developed? I’ll just have to see how strong this stuff really is! Charge at me!”
With A Jie giving the order, the Giant carelessly charged at Yin.
“Then you better keep your eyes wide open and watch closely!”
Yin also drew her sword, letting flames wrap around it to enchant it before engaging the Giant in battle.
“Well then. That just leaves the two of us. City Lord, have you thought of your last words? I’m all ears.”
A Jie glared at the City Lord. Now, the City Lord was completely devoid of any guards, just a helpless old man. It would be a piece of cake to take him down.
“None. Want to know why? Because you can’t kill me. Rather, I’ll be the one to end you here.”
The City Lord’s words carried no hint of fear. It seemed he still had considerable confidence.
“Oh? What bold words! Then let me see how you plan to kill me today.”
With that, A Jie charged at the City Lord.
Right now, A Jie had the power bestowed upon him by the Adrian People, and he could definitely end the City Lord in a single strike.
“What?!”
The City Lord displayed speed and reflexes that were astonishingly inconsistent with someone of his age. He dodged A Jie’s attack, leaving him shocked.
“What’s wrong, little thief? You said you’d kill me, but is this really all the power you have?”
Contrary to the stunned A Jie, the City Lord looked down at him with disdain.
“Dammit, again! I refuse to believe I can’t hit you!”
A Jie attacked the City Lord once more, but again the City Lord dodged effortlessly.
Unwilling to give up, A Jie struck again. But no matter how many times he tried, the result was always the same; the City Lord evaded every attack with ease.
“This… this is impossible. I’ve gained such great power, so why can’t I hit you?!”
A Jie stared in disbelief at the City Lord. He was sure he had been strengthened, but why was this happening?!
“Let me tell you this. Your strength means nothing in front of me.”
Saying this, the City Lord took out another belt and strapped it on his waist.
“What’s that?”
Looking at the City Lord’s belt, A Jie felt he had seen something similar before.
【Zetsumetsu Evolution!】
【Break Horn!】
“Transform.”
【Perfectrise! When the five horns cross, the golden soldier THOUSER is born. Presented by ZAIA!】
“Golden… armor. You made yourself a combat suit too?!”
As A Jie watched the City Lord, now enshrined in golden armor, he finally understood the reason the City Lord dared to show up today. It was all because of this.
“My strength is your 1000%.”
The City Lord pointed at A Jie, coldly delivering a line he had long wanted to say.
“1000% my foot! Die, you bastard City Lord!”
A Jie once again launched an attack at the City Lord, eager to see whose combat suit was truly stronger—his or the power of the Adrian People.
