Chapter 118: Aftermath

"Izuna, you're awake?" said Setsuna.

"Shh, my daughter is sleeping," Izuna warned.

"I thought you didn't care about her anymore?" Setsuna replied, lowering his voice.

"Setsuna..." sighed Izuna.

"Come with me," Setsuna gestured, heading outside. Izuna followed him to the rooftop.

"Have you found your answer?" Setsuna asked.

"Did my brother die?" Izuna asked, ignoring the question.

"Hashirama checked his breathing and confirmed it. Meanwhile, they know I brought you back to Uzushiogakure," Setsuna explained.

"Ha... I don't know what to say, Setsuna. When I was injured, I regretted leaving my daughter alone, but at the same time, I felt relieved to die," Izuna admitted.

Slap! Setsuna hit him.

"Scumbag! You're an irresponsible father," Setsuna said, pointing at him. "Your child never asked to have you as a father, but it is different for you, you are wishing for Kazuha to be your daughter."

Izuna suddenly felt clarity, as if a new world had opened up. Before Kazuha was born, he had longed for a child, but his daughter never asked for a father like him.

"Izuna, we need to take responsibility. You've already got a daughter, so cherish her. There are plenty of people who died before they even got the chance to marry," said Setsuna.

Tears began streaming down Izuna's face.

"Thank you, Setsuna. I won't do anything stupid again," Izuna promised.

"Good and just in case, I sealed your Sharingan," Setsuna added.

"Thank you, Setsuna," Izuna replied as they headed back to the ward, where Kazuha was still sound asleep.

---Madara Alone---

"Hashirama, you finally killed me," Madara muttered, then he was thinking of his brother and niece.

Even if Izuna was still alive, Madara wouldn't visit Uzushiogakure because his current mission was to awaken the Rinnegan, something he had never shared with his brother.

In the final battle with Hashirama, his former friend hadn't used his full power until the very last moment when he was cornered and forced to.

Madara succeeded in obtaining Hashirama's cells and activated Izanagi. This forbidden technique, exclusive to those with a 3-tomoe Sharingan, allows for reality manipulation, such as making fatal wounds disappear as if they never happened. However, using Izanagi results in permanent blindness of the Sharingan used.

Leaving a shadow clone in his tomb, Madara quietly disappeared, continuing to hide. This was all witnessed by Black Zetsu, who was delighted that Madara had obtained Hashirama's cells.

Since Hashirama was still alive, Tobirama didn't destroy Madara's body for research, which is why Tobirama didn't realize Madara was still alive.

Only after Tobirama's brother died of chakra poisoning did he learn that Madara was still alive, as when Tobirama finally attempted to study Madara's body, he found it missing from the tomb.

--Atmosphere in Konoha---

Due to Madara and Izuna's actions, the entire Uchiha clan faced consequences. The villagers became more suspicious of the Uchiha, but Hashirama was able to stop rumors and prevent physical discrimination against them.

Using his famous diplomatic skills, often referred to as "Talk no Jutsu," Hashirama managed to quell the internal tensions within Konoha.

The Uchiha clan was grateful to Hashirama, but they also knew that the Senju could easily destroy them if necessary. Hashirama's most powerful jutsu was massive, and even with the help of a tailed beast, Madara was defeated.

While the Uchiha longed for peace, some of them sought advice from Uchiha Setsuna, who, aside from Hashirama, was the strongest person alive.

Tobirama, meanwhile, understood why the Uchiha wanted to rebel against Konoha, agreeing with some of their reasons. His observations reinforced his belief in the connection between the awakening of the Sharingan and Uchiha madness.

"Is Izuna still alive?" Tobirama wondered. Unlike Madara, whose body he had sealed in a tomb, Tobirama wouldn't open the tomb as long as his brother, Hashirama, was alive, fearing it would anger him.

Tobirama's students, like Danzo and Hiruzen, also grew more wary of the Uchiha, which could lead to further problems if they were ever given a position of leadership.

---Uzukage---

"Setsuna, I don't think I can allow Izuna to enter Uzushiogakure," said Uzumaki Ashina, his father-in-law.

"Father-in-law, are you worried that he might attack Uzushiogakure like he did Konoha?" asked Setsuna.

"Yes. He and Madara attacked Konoha—what's to stop him from doing the same here?" replied the Uzukage.

"Father, take a look at this," said Setsuna, pulling out a piece of paper and writing something on it.

When the Uzukage saw what Setsuna had written, he was stunned.

"This... did you create this seal?" asked the Uzukage, amazed by its complexity.

"I studied the Hyuga clan's birdcage seal, and I developed this one to prevent Izuna from activating his Sharingan. He's no longer a threat to Uzushiogakure, and you could defeat him easily," Setsuna revealed.

"Really?" asked the Uzukage.

"When you meet Izuna, you'll see the seal on his head. I've placed it behind his brain," replied Setsuna.

"Alright, I'll check it out. If he truly can't use his Sharingan, he can stay in the village," said the Uzukage.

"Thank you, Father-in-law," replied Setsuna.

---Kazuha Wake Up---

"Father, please don't get hurt," begged Kazuha with teary eyes.

"I'm sorry, Kazuha," Izuna said, filled with regret.

"I'll forgive you, but don't do anything reckless again. The pain hurts... I don't want to lose you too," Kazuha said softly.

Hearing this, Izuna couldn't hold back his tears anymore and cried while hugging his daughter.

Knock, knock.

There was a knock at the door, and when it opened, Uzukage Uzumaki Ashina entered.

"Izuna, I want to confirm something about your condition," said the Uzukage.

"Okay, Uzukage. You can check my condition," Izuna replied.

"I need to examine your back. I heard Setsuna placed a seal there," said the Uzukage.

Izuna understood why Uzukage wanted to check the seal that Setsuna had placed to prevent him from using his Sharingan. He agreed, and the Uzukage inspected the location where the seal had been applied.

"Izuna, I've discussed this with Setsuna. You've been granted permission to live here because the seal prevents you from using your Sharingan, as long as it remains intact," the Uzukage explained.
