"I know you joined HYDRA's experiment to gain strength, not just for revenge but to maintain peace in your own way. But it's ironic, really—HYDRA is behind many of the wars in this world. They were only interested in creating superhumans for their own purposes."

Wanda murmured, "So Baron Strucker has been using us all along…."

Pietro remained silent. The fates of the failed test subjects were laid bare in front of them. Many had died, and some who survived were left in agonizing states, barely clinging to life—mere shells, worse off than the dead.

The realization that they could have ended up the same way sent a shiver through both siblings.

No legitimate organization would commit such atrocities; only anti-human entities like HYDRA would conduct experiments so vile.

"So, what do we do now?" Wanda asked, her voice uncertain.

Among the countless test subjects, they were the only ones to survive. Revenge had fueled them, but now they knew the real enemy was gone. HYDRA's so-called "grand vision" was nothing more than a lie to brainwash them. The siblings, who had lost their purpose, were left feeling directionless.

Luckily, they had encountered the Avengers before making any grave mistakes.

Thor gave them an encouraging smile. "I won't lecture you about great power and responsibility, but I will say this: if you don't have a goal, find one. HYDRA isn't the only threat. You know about the New York battle, right? Aliens have already taken notice of Earth."

"Everyone makes mistakes, including the Avengers," he continued. "What matters is how we choose to correct them. With extraordinary powers come important choices. It's up to us to decide how we use them."

He paused. "Of course, you're not obligated to become heroes. If you want, you can live a quiet life elsewhere. I'm sure Tony would be willing to help you get set up safely."

Creating new identities would actually be a trivial task with some assistance, though Thor felt it was better not to involve the siblings with the underworld. Though Wanda had a mature air about her, she is still just a young woman, barely two years older than Spider-Man, Peter Parker.

Thor waited patiently, letting them make their own choice. After all, joining the Avengers wasn't about strength; every member had to be willing.

"Can I join the Avengers?" Wanda asked, surprising everyone. It was she who spoke up first, not her more outspoken brother.

Thor raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Are you sure?"

"No one is ever fully ready at the start, but there has to be a beginning," Wanda replied, meeting his gaze.

Why is Wanda looking at me so intently? Thor wondered, feeling a little flustered.

"Very well, welcome to the Avengers!" he said with a smile, then turned to Pietro.

Pietro grinned. "Saving the world? No way I'm sitting that out!"

Not long after, Tony voiced his objections. "I refuse. Minors should not be involved in war."

As if you didn't involve a fourteen-year-old in the civil war, Thor thought, smirking slightly. He knew Tony's objection wasn't about their age. It was about the guilt of working alongside them, given their tragic history with Tony Industries.

But Pietro, undeterred, replied sharply, "We've been at war since the day a Stark missile destroyed our home."

Tony fell silent, his face tense.

Thor gave him an out. "If you're really concerned, help them by making battle suits. At least something bulletproof, to keep them safe."

"I don't need it," Pietro scoffed. "Bullets can't catch me…."

Before he could finish, Thor suddenly pulled out a pistol and aimed it at Wanda.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"Are you out of your mind?" Pietro shouted, rushing in front of his sister to shield her. But there was no pain.

"Wait… Are these blanks?" Pietro looked up, confused.

Thor lowered the gun. "What good is speed if you're reckless? Even a trained gunman can take you down if they find a weak point."
