I am the President of Brazil

Chapter 53: Chapter 87: The Last Trip

In the five months that followed the discovery of Paola's pregnancy, Gustavo and she lived a period of great anticipation and happiness. The couple, known for their travels around the world, decided that before the arrival of their first child, they would take one last special trip. The chosen destination was Paris, the City of Light, a place they both dreamed of visiting together.

Gustavo, always passionate about history and culture, was eager to explore the city's historical and cultural landmarks, while Paola, with her artistic sensibility, hoped to lose herself in the romantic streets of Paris, feeling the unique charm that she had always imagined. For them, this trip would be a milestone not only in their adventures around the world, but also in their transition to a new phase of life.

As soon as the plane landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Gustavo looked out the window and saw the vastness of the city in the distance. He smiled, knowing that this would be a memorable trip. Paola, with her hand lovingly on her belly, which was already beginning to show, looked calm and radiant.

— "I think we chose the perfect place," said Paola, looking out the window as the plane taxied. "Paris is a dream for anyone, and now we're going to live it together, with our baby."

Gustavo held her hand and smiled. "Our son or daughter is already starting his or her life with great adventures. Paris will be just the beginning of everything we want to show him or her."

After passing through immigration and picking up their bags, the couple was taken directly to the hotel where they would be staying, an elegant and cozy place in the heart of the city, with a privileged view of the Eiffel Tower. When they arrived at their room, they were greeted with flowers and a warm welcome message from the hotel staff.

— "This is exactly what I needed," said Paola, sitting down on the soft bed and stretching her legs. "We're going to enjoy every second of this trip."

In the days that followed, Gustavo and Paola dedicated themselves to exploring Paris with the calm and romanticism that the city evokes. They walked hand in hand through the Luxembourg Gardens, where Paola sat down for a few moments to rest, while admiring the flowers that were beginning to bloom with the arrival of spring.

— "Look at these flowers," Paola said, lightly stroking her belly. "Nature is so incredible, isn't it? Everything blooming around us, and here we are, waiting for our own flower to bloom."

Gustavo leaned over to kiss Paola's forehead, a loving gesture that showed how enchanted he was by that moment in life.

Another must-see destination for the couple was the Louvre Museum. Even with her growing belly, Paola insisted that she wanted to see up close the works of art that she had always admired. They walked slowly through the halls of the museum, impressed by the grandeur of the works and the richness of the history around them.

— "Being here is an indescribable experience," Gustavo commented, stopping in front of the Mona Lisa. "I knew I would see incredible works, but the Louvre is truly magical."

— "I could spend the whole day here," Paola replied, smiling as she held her camera to capture a few moments.

After passing the Louvre, the couple headed to the iconic Eiffel Tower. When they finally reached the top, the view of Paris at night was breathtaking. Gustavo, with an arm around Paola, looked out at the city lights, feeling the immensity of the moment.

— "I always thought seeing Paris from above would be unforgettable," Gustavo said. "But being here with you and our baby makes it a hundred times more special."

Paola rested her head on Gustavo's shoulder, feeling incredibly lucky to be living this moment with the man she loved, with their promising future unfolding before them.

Although the trip was full of cultural tours and discoveries, Gustavo and Paola also allowed themselves moments of tranquility and relaxation. Every afternoon, after exploring the city, they returned to the hotel to rest. The windows of the room offered a privileged view of the Eiffel Tower, which lit up spectacularly at night.

— "I can hardly believe that in a few months we will be holding our baby in our arms," said Paola, as Gustavo prepared a cup of tea for her. "It seems surreal to think that our lives will change so much."

— "It will be a wonderful change," replied Gustavo, sitting next to her on the bed. "I know that together we can face anything. Our son will have the best parents we can be."

— "Do you think we will be able to reconcile the life of travelers with that of parents?" asked Paola, jokingly, but with a tone of genuine curiosity.

— "Of course!" Gustavo laughed. "Let's raise an adventurer from an early age. Who knows, maybe in a few years we'll be back in Paris with him or her running around."

On the last night in Paris, Gustavo and Paola decided to dine at a special restaurant overlooking the Seine River. The place, famous for its authentic French cuisine and romantic atmosphere, provided the perfect way to end their days in the city.

— "Everything was perfect," Paola said, looking into Gustavo's eyes as they finished their dessert. "I couldn't have asked for a better last trip before our baby is born."

Gustavo smiled, feeling grateful for everything they had experienced up until that moment.

— "I just want you to know how grateful I am to have you by my side," Gustavo said. "And I can't wait to experience this new phase as parents."

As they walked back to the hotel, the Eiffel Tower, lit up in all its glory, seemed to beckon them, as a reminder that special moments like these are the ones that matter most. Paola held Gustavo's hand, feeling the light evening breeze and the excitement of knowing that soon, very soon, they would be three.

The next day, Gustavo and Paola took the flight back to Brazil, now ready to prepare for the birth of their baby. During the flight, as Paola slept with her head resting on Gustavo's shoulder, he looked out the window and reflected on how much his life had changed in the last few years. From being the president of Brazil to a man about to become a father, he felt that he was ready to face whatever challenges the future brought.

Arriving in Brazil, the couple knew that this would be their last big trip for a while. Now, all their energy would be focused on the arrival of their son, who would transform their lives in ways neither of them could have imagined.

— "Paris was the perfect ending to this phase," said Paola, upon landing.

— "And now, we begin a new journey," Gustavo added, smiling as he hugged his wife. "The most important of all."

And so, the couple returned to Brazil, ready to welcome the baby who already filled their hearts with love and anticipation.
