I Am The Only Witch Hunter

Chapter 240: Lord Frere

Siderius stood in front of the House of God. A particular statue attracted his attention. On the roof of the building was the statue of a young man with his hands behind his back.

"That god…" Siderius mumbled.

"He is the Outsider, my lord." Teddy said.

"I know. I saw your memory."

But in Teddy's memory, the statue was blurred. It was blurred in all instances, preventing Siderius to truly gasp that it was the same God from before.

Siderius' hand fidgeted a stone ring inside his pocket.

The Vagrant Ring, the ring that Eli had given to him. It connected directly to the outsider. If Siderius remembered correctly, the ring represented a champion of the Outsider, his avatar in the mortal realm.

This building was once a church of an Outsider, similar to Santa Roberto but it was abandoned. Now the Shadow Blade had taken over it and used it as a cover for their operations.

No assassin of the Shadow Blade was actually a believer.

"He probably won't be mad if I kill these people."

"Who is he, my lord?"

"The God of this church."

Siderius flung the drape of his cloak back and stepped forward, leaving Teddy with his eyes wide open.

"The Outsider?" Teddy thought to himself.

"It's weird. Usually there will be someone outside guarding the place." Teddy said.

"Because they are inside, setting up traps and ambushes for me." Siderius said.

Teddy laughed wryly.

Siderius took out an Explosive Bomb and put it into the sling.

"You might want to step back." Siderius said.

Teddy did as instructed. Siderius flung the clayball into the front of the building. The explosion blasted open the door.

There were quite a few assassins inside, waiting for him. They were all pushed away, bodies flying to the wall because of the blast.

Siderius slotted a second bomb, the Odor Bomb and flung it inside. He didn't stop and slotted a third bomb, the Pellets Bomb, which was made from the residues of an Anabolism Tonic. He flung the Pellets Bomb inside.

The projectile exploded and sent countless pellets in all directions. Screams and grunts of pain echoed out from the inside.

Siderius stood there and waited for a minute before going inside.

"It is safe now."

He must wait for the Canis Fetorium to dissipate, otherwise he would get hit by his own weapon.

Inside, a bunch of assassins were still vomiting. The majority of the assassins lay on the ground, motionless and bloody with countless holes inside them.

Jenny stood in the farthest corner, behind a bunch of men, with horror in her eyes.

"You?! Theodore! How dare you betray us!"

Teddy didn't care to explain. He pulled out his dagger and stood beside Siderius.

"Do what you are here to do. Your family's lives depend on it." Siderius whispered.

Teddy clenched his dagger. "Yes, my lord!"

And he stormed into the group of assassins, looking for his death like a thorn bird. He knew that whatever he did today, he already wronged the Shadow Blade and Siderius.

Only Siderius could save his family. The Shadow Blade would definitely kill them out of example. Snow was his only hope.

"What are you doing, Teddy?!"

"Stop Teddy!"

Teddy killed like a mad man with blood veins in his eyes.

Siderius placed his hand on the Blazing Soul.

"What a sight. A man fighting to save his family. No matter the cost. If you survive this day, I will take you as my servant.

Otherwise, death is a fitting end."

Siderius flipped the fireswitch and pulled out the Blazing Sword. The sword caught on fire, burning fiercely and breathing out non-stop black smoke.

"Fire Witch!"

"He is a witch!"

"Oh shit! Oh shit! Oh shit!"

"Calm down, you fools!" Jenny roared. "He is nothing but one man!

Crossbow!"

As she shouted, assassins revealed themselves from behind the curtains. Each of them had a crossbow in their hands. The kind that would easily penetrate a wooden dummy.

"Fire!"

Jenny shouted.

Siderius leisurely walked forward. He flexed his left hand and summoned the silver bracer. The cross was drawn and a green barrier enveloped the hunter.

All the arrows were stopped outside of the barrier. If it was an ordinary man, he would have become a porcupine and been pierced to death.

Siderius wasn't an ordinary man. These arrows didn't have the force greater than a full grown grizzly bear either. They were many, that was the truth. But their strength couldn't be combined.

"Is that it?" Siderius grinned.

Jenny jerked backward. "Reload!"

All the crossbowmen struggled to pull the strings backward. Crossbows were easier to use than bows. But it took much more time to rearm the weapon.

Siderius laughed out loud then charged into the group of assassins. His flaming sword danced around, smacking into flesh, breaking bones, and burning skins.

No one was even able to stop him. The sight of Blazing Soul was just too horrified to face directly.

The assassins scattered. Someone tried to attack Siderius from behind. Lycan jumped out of his cloak and mauled the assassin.

"What is this thing?!"

Siderius marched forward, plunging deep into the assassin's formation.

"Kill him! Don't run! Run and you will die! Go all in!" Jenny screamed at the top of her lungs.

Three assassins tried to stop Siderius. But his blade broke all of their daggers in one swing. Then Siderius swept them to the side with a horizontal strike.

They flew away like turds in the wind.

"It does feel good when you're strong." Siderius thought to himself. His strength and agility were all seven points now. He moved fast like a leopard and his strike was heavy like a buffalo.

These scrawny assassins had become nothing more than a nuisance. To think that he struggled to deal with only one assassin before.

One straight line was made from where Siderius originally had been to where he was now, in front of Jenny.

Behind him was a trail of blood and broken limps.

"Jenny of Blacklungs. We finally met." Siderius grinned.

Jenny stumbled backward. She touched the cold wall behind.

"Please! Please let me go! I'd do anything!"

"I don't need you to do anything. I just want to know a few things." Siderius grinned wider.

Suddenly, a clap was heard.

Siderius turned his back to see a middle-aged man with red clothes standing there. He wore an expensive white fur-coat outside and held a walking cane in his hand.

His head shaped like a tomato, structurally round.

"What a sight!" The man spoke in a high pitch. "What is your virtue, friend? Killing? Torturing? I am dying to know?"

Siderius squinted his eyes.

Behind him, Jenny carefully slipped away. But she failed. Siderius fist extended and landed right on her head, sending her slamming on the wall.

Jenny was knocked out cold and fell to the ground.

"Who are you?" Siderius said.

"Lord Frere of Noreal. At your service!" The man removed his hat and bowed slightly. He bowed like a performer on the stage.

Siderius noticed a signet ring on Frere's finger. Another Baron. A witchling.

Siderius grinned. "Monstrosity…"

"I beg your pardon?" Frere said.

"My desire is monstrosity." Siderius spun his sword and put it into the orange scabbard. Blazing Sword didn't extinguish, instead, when Siderius pulled it out, it had become even hotter and the flame grew bigger.

The Dull Steel in the middle lit up in red like a rod of lava.

"Are you sure you want to pick this fight? Lord Frere of Noreal?"
