I Am The Only Witch Hunter

Chapter 162: Blazing Soul

"This is... incredible." George and Finn stood beside Siderius. Their eyes flooded with admiration.

"It is ready. Have you finished the handle and the scabbards?" Siderius said.

The two blacksmiths nodded. "We have completed that first. The handle is ready to be inserted."

The blade was forged to have a cross shape. With the shorter edge acting as the core for its handle and the two blades on the side to be the cross guard. George slid the wooden handle onto the short edge then he hammer the tip flat, securing the handle tightly.

Finn brought out the carefully crafted scabbards. Siderius had designed the sword to have two scabbards, one to store it and the second to fuel it.

Finn had worked directly with a woodworker to shape the scabbards. He and George only worked to add the crucial parts into the blade.

The first scabbard had a unique fire starter at the top. It was a small piece of iron attached to the entrance of the scabbard that could easily flip over to either be on the side of the blade or the side of the scabbard.

The second scabbard was more complex. Its compartment was made intricately to store oil and other materials inside without leaking. The entrance of the scabbard had a lid that could be easily shut tight, avoiding any oil to escape.

Siderius took a piece of rope and weaved a particular knot to tie the two scabbards onto his waist. It was very secure but a little bit rigid.

"I can ask Ashe to make a better waistband to hold these scabbards." Siderius thought.

Then he grabbed the blade and slid it inside the first scabbard.

The first scabbard had a pure black color while the second scabbard was made of a type of red wood. These colors were for distinction.

"Can we see the weapon in action, Lord Watcher?" George said.

Finn's eyes were sparkling like a child saw a toy.

They were responsible for creating the sword. They wouldn't know how to use it effectively but that didn't prevent them from wanting to see it being used.

Siderius nodded. "Let's go to the training ground of the garrison. There are quite a few wooden dummies we can use."

Siderius went to the garrison with Finn and George behind him. The soldiers saw him and quickly bowed respectfully.

"High Lord!"

"Greetings, High Lord!"

"It is an honor to see you, High Lord!"

Words spread fast. The truth of him defeating the Phantom had reached every ear in Scalize. Jude made sure of that.

By elevating Siderius, he was hoping to gain a favor from him. If not, Jude wanted to create a beneficial connection between the two. He was a politician at heart and more friends would always be better than more enemies.

It also benefited Jude. He was the one who invited Siderius so he also had some positive rumors attached to him. 'The Wise Baron' knew how to handle his dominion.

Siderius and the blacksmiths entered the garrison's training ground. The commander from before saw Siderius and quickly came over.

He tapped his chest twice then bowed at Siderius.

"High Lord! I am at your service."

"At ease, commander. I am only here to borrow one of your dummies."

The commander saw the unique two scabbards on Siderius' waist. His eyes lit up with curiosity.

"You know swordsmanship, High Lord?"

"A little bit, yes." Siderius nodded.

George pouted his lips in the back. He still remembered the scene where Siderius escaped the prison and killed the two guards in seconds. This man was so much more than knowing 'a little bit'.

With the commander's help, they were led into the training ground. The soldiers quickly prepared for Siderius a wooden dummy.

In the Baron's estate, a soldier quickly came to Jude's side and whispered something in his ears.

"The White Witch came to borrow a dummy?" Jude raised an eyebrow. He had ordered his man to keep a close eye on Siderius whenever he entered Scalize.

It's not that Jude didn't trust Siderius. But no one could overlook such a dangerous presence like Siderius.

Jude turned his head sideway, catching the gaze of Caterina. "Do you want to go watch what our white witch friend is doing?"

Caterina smiled. She seemed much more at ease than previously. "Of course. Let's go and see."

Jude nodded then turned toward the soldier. "Lead us to him."

Everyone gathered around and observed Siderius attentively. A few minutes later, the Baron and his First Lady also came.

After what happened, Caterina had returned to Scalize, no longer distancing herself to Jude. After all, they learned that what happened that day wasn't Jude's fault at all. It was all because of that damn traitor, Jeffrey.

"We bring a little bit too much attention." George looked around and said.

Finn shrugged. "Can't help it. Our Lord is the famous White Witch now. Everyone in Scalize knew of him.

Do you know what they say in the tavern?"

"What do they say?" George asked.

"The White Witch with angel face.

The White Witch of darkest eyes.

The killer of phantom and..."

"And what?" George raised an eyebrow.

Finn shared a sly smile before continuing. "And the dream of maidens."

George snapped his head at him. He was both bewildered and not so surprised. George knew that Siderius had a killer instinct and a killer face.

Jude and Caterina stood with the soldiers. They didn't approach Siderius. The vengeful hunter spotted them and shared a silent nod with the Baron.

Siderius stood in front of the dummy. His hand placed upon the new Blazing Soul.

The vengeful hunter drew the soul out a little bit, revealing only a tiny part of its spine. He flipped the fire switch over, letting the fire starter rest on the spine of the blade.

"Two scabbards? That is something you won't see everyday." Caterina said.

"And he had only one sword. Why do you think he needs two scabbards for one sword?" Jude said.

"I have no idea, my love. But I know that the white witch wouldn't just do something for show. Those two scabbards have a reason to be there."

Then everyone held their breath. Their eyes fixated on Siderius.

Siderius unsheathed the sword with an aggressive manner.
