Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Joining the Hestia Familia

The first rays of dawn bathed Nexus in a golden glow as Jace and his companions made their way to the modest residence of the Hestia Familia. Their decision to join had been unanimous, the sincerity of Bell Cranel and the quiet strength of Kirito leaving an indelible impression.

Bell greeted them at the door with a wide smile. "Good morning! Come in; Lady Hestia's waiting for you."

Inside, the small space radiated warmth and camaraderie. The goddess herself was seated at a table, her petite form exuding a vibrant energy. "Welcome back!" she said, her voice brimming with enthusiasm. "I hear you've decided to join my familia."

Jace stepped forward, his companions flanking him. "We have. Your test showed us just how much we can grow under your guidance."

Hestia's eyes sparkled. "I'm glad to hear it! But before we make it official, there's one more thing we need to do: your falna."

Bell explained, "The falna is the blessing Lady Hestia gives us. It'll unlock your potential and track your growth as adventurers."

"It's a bit of a ritual," Kirito added. "Nothing to worry about."

One by one, they knelt before Hestia, who pricked her finger and allowed a single drop of divine blood to fall onto their backs. The sensation was unlike anything Jace had felt before—a surge of power and clarity, as if the very essence of the world had become a part of him. When it was over, Hestia handed them small parchments detailing their starting stats and abilities.

Lyra glanced at hers, her eyes widening. "This is incredible. I can already feel the difference."

Orin flexed his fingers, a faint glow emanating from them. "So this is the power of a falna."

Mira smiled softly. "It's like a new beginning."

Hestia clapped her hands. "Now that you're officially members of my familia, let's celebrate! Bell, Kirito, get the food!"

The impromptu feast was filled with laughter and stories. Bell shared tales of his early adventures, his face lighting up with enthusiasm. Kirito, though more reserved, recounted his experiences in another world, his words hinting at challenges and triumphs that left the group in awe.

"So you were summoned here too?" Jace asked Kirito, intrigued.

Kirito nodded. "It's a long story, but yes. This world has a way of bringing people together."

As the evening progressed, Jace couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging he hadn't known he was missing. The Hestia Familia might have been small, but it was filled with heart.

The next morning, Hestia gathered them all in the main room. "Now that we're a bigger familia, it's time to take on new challenges. Bell, Kirito, you'll guide our new members on their first mission as part of the team."

Bell straightened up, determination in his eyes. "We won't let you down, Lady Hestia."

Kirito smirked. "Let's see what you've got."

Their first task as a united familia was to explore a newly discovered dungeon on the outskirts of Nexus. The labyrinth was rumoured to contain rare treasures but also formidable monsters. As they prepared their gear, Jace felt a mix of excitement and nervousness.

"Stay close," Kirito advised as they descended into the dungeon's depths. "And remember, we're a team now. Watch each other's backs."

The dungeon was a sprawling maze of tunnels and chambers, illuminated by the faint glow of bioluminescent moss. The air was thick with tension as the group encountered their first challenge: a pack of goblin-like creatures armed with crude weapons.

Bell charged forward, his dagger flashing as he deftly took down two goblins. Kirito followed, his dual swords slicing through the air with precision. Jace and his companions joined the fray, their newly enhanced abilities making the battle almost exhilarating.

After the fight, they regrouped, their breaths heavy but spirits high. "Not bad for our first outing," Orin said, grinning.

Mira nodded. "We're starting to work well together."

As they delved deeper, the challenges grew more intense. They faced traps, puzzles, and stronger monsters, each encounter testing their skills and teamwork. By the time they reached the dungeon's final chamber, they were battle-worn but determined.

The chamber was vast, its walls lined with shimmering crystals. At its center stood a towering golem, its stone form radiating an aura of power. The group exchanged glances, their resolve evident.

"This is it," Jace said, gripping his weapon tightly. "Let's finish this."

The battle was fierce, the golem's massive fists creating shockwaves with each strike. Bell and Kirito coordinated their attacks, exploiting the creature's slow movements. Jace and his companions supported them, using their unique abilities to weaken the golem's defenses.

Finally, with a combined effort, they brought the golem crashing down. As the dust settled, a sense of accomplishment washed over them.

"We did it," Lyra said, her voice tinged with disbelief.

Hestia's voice echoed in Jace's mind. "I knew you could."

The treasures they found in the chamber were more than they had hoped for, including rare materials and artifacts that would aid their future endeavors. As they made their way back to Nexus, the bond between them felt stronger than ever.

Back at the familia's residence, Hestia welcomed them with open arms. "You've made me proud," she said, her eyes shining with pride. "This is just the beginning of what we can achieve together."

Jace looked around at his newfound family, a smile playing on his lips. For the first time since arriving in this world, he felt truly at home. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, their hearts united under the banner of the Hestia Familia.
