I am Just an Average Tamer

Chapter 194: Council President [2]

One of his buddies behind him let out a barking laugh. "Who even are you clowns? Gonna throw flowers at us, greenie?"

Another scoffed. "Why don't you three piss off before you get hurt? This ain't your business."

Kai's expression didn't shift, but the air around him thickened.

Riven tilted his head lazily, but his voice came sharp. "Try anything, and I'll let Ember here show you how well she digests garbage."

The flame serpent coiled tighter around Riven's arm, its snout flicking toward the five with an audible hiss.

Corrin yawned, voice colder than usual. "Honestly, I was in a good mood. Now I'm considering breaking curfew just to rearrange your jawline."

"Big words for someone still in diapers," one of the guys spat.

Riven's eyes narrowed. "Want me to show you how big my fists are?"

"You punks looking for a beating?" the first guy growled, losing his fake smile. "This ain't your class. Stay outta it before you regret it."

Corrin smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Oh, buddy, I'm already regretting my breakfast. Don't tempt me to use your face as a mop."

One of the girls who'd been cornered glanced toward Kai, eyes wide with a silent mix of relief and worry.

She opened her mouth to say something, but Kai gave a small shake of his head.

He took a single step forward.

"You've got ten seconds to disappear."

The five upperclassmen chuckled, their mockery turning into something more feral as they rolled up their sleeves and stepped forward.

"Tough guys, huh? Let's see if you're still brave when we break a few bones—"

But Kai's voice cut through their bravado.

"Come forth…"

"Stromoen."

WHOOSH!

In an instant, the air shifted, pressure snapped downward like a hammer.

Crackle!

A soft, bluish-white light burst open behind Kai, swirling with static and mist.

From within it, a large drake emerged, more than two meters tall at the shoulder.

Its scales shimmered like obsidian laced with arcs of lightning that danced across his body.

His piercing eyes glowed with an electric hue as he stepped forward with heavy, thunderous footfalls.

Grrrr!

He growled low, a deep, guttural rumble that vibrated through the ground.

Smoke hissed from his nostrils as arcs of lightning crackled across his horns and fangs.

The drake leaned his head lower, glaring at the five with murder in his gaze.

BOOM!

A tiny bolt snapped from his body and zapped a nearby stone, splitting it with ease.

The lead guy's smirk shattered. "Wh… what the hell?"

"Is that a Thunder Drake?!"

"No way. That's—how does he even have something like that!"

Corrin took a slow, dramatic step back with his hands raised. "Oops. Looks like our 'cosplay' came with a thunderstorm."

Riven grinned, arms crossed now, the flame serpent still hissing around him. "You lot were saying something about breaking bones? Let me guess… not yours, right?"

Kai finally pulled one hand out of his pocket and pointed toward the five.

"I gave you ten seconds." His tone hadn't changed, still quiet and composed. "You wasted them."

Stromeon took one thunderous step forward, lightning dancing up his front legs.

The five scrambled backward.

"Shit! T-this isn't worth it!"

"Fall back! Get outta here!"

Just as the five upperclassmen scrambled away, tripping over each other in panic—

"Just where do you think you're going?"

A crisp and composed voice rang out from above, laced with quiet authority.

Whoosh!

Wind whipped around the corner, carrying with it a sudden gust that slammed down like a barrier.

Grrrr!

Five majestic beasts landed in front of the fleeing guys, halting them in their tracks. A few flinched backward, barely keeping their footing.

The beasts stood tall and imposing, sleek, armored.

A Windstrider Wolf, a Crescent-Horned Gazelle, a Steel-Feather Roc, and two others with shimmering auras of earth and wind affinity.

The boys' eyes widened as they tilted their gaze upward.

Perched elegantly atop the Roc's back was a girl.

Her silver-blue hair flowing with the breeze, blue eyes calm yet sharp like polished crystal.

Her uniform blazer bore a striking silver and gold insignia over her left shoulder.

She didn't raise her voice.

"I've heard a lot of complaints about you five in the past few weeks," she said coolly. "Harassment. Intimidation. Disruptive behavior. And you still had the audacity to cause trouble again?"

She exhaled softly, unimpressed.

With a single wave of her hand, one of her beasts, a long, snake-like wind serpent darted forward.

Whoosh!

Its tendrils of air wrapped around the five boys like living chains, yanking them off their feet and binding them midair.

"That'll do."

Then, from behind her, several other students stepped out, each wearing the same insignia, though theirs were silver only, not gold.

And swiftly and efficiently, grabbed the five boys and began hauling them away.

None dared protest. One even looked like he was about to cry.

Once they were gone, the silver-blue haired girl gracefully dismounted from her beast, boots tapping lightly against the stone.

She walked up to the two shaken girls who had been harassed earlier.

"Are you two alright?"

They nodded shakily.

Soon after, a small group of girls came rushing in, clearly friends or class reps, offering jackets, hugs, and soft reassurances.

The silver-blue haired girl stepped back to give them space.

Then finally, she turned to face the trio still standing at the side.

Kai, Corrin, and Riven, all still in casual post-battle mode.

She gave them a light, appreciative smile.

"Thank you. For stepping in before things got worse."

Her eyes lingered for a moment on Stromoen, who stood silently behind Kai, majesticly.

Thunder crackling faintly around his body. Her gaze sharpened just slightly in intrigue.

"A Thunder Drake," she murmured, nodding slowly.

"That's… not something you see every day. Bonding with a drake is no easy feat."

Her gaze shifted to Kai, analyzing but not judgmental. "You're not from any noble house, are you?"

Kai tilted his head slightly then shook his head.

She chuckled softly.

"I'm Viviane Althrael. Student Council President."
