Chapter 101: Nox [2]
'Then ain't it dangerous?'
[<No. Abyssal Wyrms are actually among the most loyal beasts you can find. And it's not like this is the first time something like this has happened. Plenty of Abyssal creatures have slipped into our realm—some live peacefully, blending into the world... others go on a rampage and end up hunted down.>]
[<In the end, it all comes down to how their master raises them. If treated with care and respect, even an Abyss-born creature can become a steadfast companion. But if abused or neglected... well, let's just say they don't stay tame for long.>]
Then he glanced at Elina.
Whose eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Can I hold it, big brother? Please?"
Lina shot her a teasing grin.
"Hey, you're not the only one. I want a turn too!"
Kai sighed.
He gently passed the little Wyrm to Elina, whose hands were a little too small to hold it properly, but the creature didn't seem to mind.
It blinked its wide, violet eyes and curled up in her arms, nuzzling into her chest.
"Careful," Kai warned, though his voice lacked its usual sharp edge.
Elina giggled, feeling the warmth of the creature against her.
"It even more cuter upclose," she whispered, her smile wide.
Then she turned it towards Vex, who purred and nuzzled against the little creature.
Vael rose from Kai's head, flapping his wings, he perched on Elina's head, cawing at the little one, as if introducing himself.
Kai smiled and summoned Drakelet too, who also quickly bolted to Elina's side.
Lina sat cross-legged beside them, watching with an amused expression as Elina carefully passed the Wyrm to her.
"You're lucky, Elina. I don't get to hold it first."
She gave a soft chuckle, hands gently cradling the small beast as it shifted in her arms.
Her green colored Hare hopped besides her, while the little Mossfur cub let out cute yelps.
The three of them spent a few more minutes passing the Wyrm around, laughing quietly, while introducing their beasts to it too.
Finally, Kai stood up, stretching. "Alright, that's enough. We need to sleep. Tomorrow's going to be a long day."
Elina pouted, but she didn't argue. She handed the Wyrm back to Kai, who carefully cradled it in his hands.
As the firelight flickered, Elina tilted her head. "Wait, I want to name it."
Kai raised an eyebrow, glancing at her. "Name it?"
Elina looked down at the Wyrm, her face serious now. "I'll call it... Nox."
Lina nodded thoughtfully. "Nox. Sounds fitting."
Kai exhaled, a faint smile tugging at his lips. "Alright, Nox it is. Now, get some sleep. Tomorrow, we will move out early."
The fire crackled softly, and they settled into the tent.
Vael, to his usual duty spot.
Kai leaned against a tree trunk, keeping his eyes on the creature in his hands, watching it blink up at him with its big violet eyes.
The night wore on quietly.
Elina and Lina had already fallen asleep, the soft sound of their breathing filling the air around the campfire.
Kai sat still, the Wyrm now curled up in his lap.
He stroked its scales gently, noting how soft yet strong they felt beneath his fingers.
Slowly, his mind drifted, but his fingers never stopped moving.
Coming out of his thoughts, he glanced down at the little creature, who was already half asleep.
Kai smiled.
"Feeling sleepy," he asked, gently stroking its head.
As if sensing exactly what he was talking about, Nox let out a small chirp before closing its eyes.
Then he out his head on its forehead and guiding his Essence through his palm to Nox.
He didn't felt any resistance and then after few moments, Nox's body gave a little glow, and he felt a connection building inside him.
[<Congratulations for taming the Abyssal Wyrm!>]

[<The creatures from Abyss are different and much stronger than those who you can find in this realm. This is their lowest rank.>]
'Then it means that they had even higher rank—'
[<Yes, a lot higher than you could imagine.>]
A chill ran down his spine, not from fear, but from the sheer excitement, of how strong his Abyssal Wyrm would become, if they are not bound with the ranking system of their realm.
'Anyways, tell me more about its skills.'
[<Blink Spark: Instantly teleports a few feet by merging into its own shadow.>]

'It has the skill to heal using just mana. Man, that's totally awesome.'
[<Well, that's Abyssal creature for ya'>]
Kai then closed the panel.
He set Nox down gently next to him, the small creature curled up into a ball.
Kai rose and walked a few steps away from the camp.
