I AM EXTRA IN A SHONEN MANGA

Chapter 97 – Heliana Arc (8) Team 3 fight

The battlefield of mists writhed, bones clicking, worms threading through void-flesh. The Right Hand shambled forward, half-man, half-void, its ribs glowing with unholy eyes that blinked in places eyes should never exist.

Rael was already half-lit with Judicator radiance his armor cracked, light bleeding through as if his body itself were fracturing. His voice was ragged, yet unwavering.

"Seventy percent… Judicator Form… is enough."

The air trembled as his greatsword swung down, each strike splitting ground and purging patches of mist. Still, the abomination reformed, stitching itself together with writhing worms.

Beside him, Kaen's veins blazed like molten rivers. His aura flickered red-black, fire twisting with shadow.

He grit his teeth, blood dripping from his nose.

(I'll use what I learned… from Pervert sage monk…)

The memory of harsh, mocking laughter, endless drills, and brutal sparring flashed in his mind. Kaen's lips curled into a grin.

He stomped down, igniting his Vein Gates—

Gate of Transcendence!

Flames spiraled around him, mixing with his shadow Shinrei until his entire body burned like a collapsing sun.

Lira stood between them, her hands trembling but her Shinrei glowing a soft, radiant pink. She was the only one who hadn't burned herself half to death but her role was just as heavy.

She channeled Bloom: Echo Art: Petal Ward, blossoms of light weaving barriers to hold the Void tendrils at bay. Her voice wavered, but she forced herself to shout:

"Don't falter—if you break, I'll drag you back!"

The abomination's ribcage split open, dozens of teeth grinding as if it laughed without a mouth. Tendrils lashed forward, ripping through Rael's light and slamming against Kaen's fire-shadow cloak.

The impact shook the earth.

Rael staggered.

Kaen's knees buckled.

But still, they stood.

As the The ground was split, black veins spreading like rot across the broken plaza. Firelight from Kaen's Echo Arts danced against Rael's Judicator radiance, while Lira's blossoms flickered between them, holding the crumbling barriers together.

The skeletal-void abomination lurched forward, its frame creaking like broken wood, worms threading through its ribs, eyes blinking from its chest cavity in grotesque rhythms.

Kaen spat to the side, his fists blazing.

"Echo Art—Tornado Fire!"

Flames spiraled outward, igniting the mist into a whirling inferno. But the creature only staggered, its body knitting itself back together even as fire devoured its flesh.

Lira raised her voice over the roar, her tone sharp with warning.

"Don't use too much Shinrei! You'll collapse before it does!"

Kaen laughed, cocky despite the sweat streaming down his face.

"No problem—my Shinrei is bigger than all of you!"

Rael's emerald eyes narrowed, his grip tightening on Seireiken. He pressed his hand to his chest.

"Seraphis… grant me strength."

The spirit's voice resonated, calm and commanding, as its luminous wings spread around him. (I am with you, Rael. But remember: a Judicator without restraint is not justice…it's ruin.)

Rael ignored the caution.

"Judicator Form: Seventy percent!"

The light surged, burning cracks across his armor as Seraphis merged closer to his frame. Holy sigils etched themselves into his body like living scripture. His eyes split with mirrored fractals, emerald shards gleaming.

The ground quaked under his aura, forcing Kaen to shield his face.

"Tch. Always showing off, huh?"

Rael glanced at him, dismissive.

"Don't drag me down, loser."

Kaen's jaw clenched. His veins lit like molten rivers, and his aura flared with shadow-laced fire.

"It should be my line, you… bastard!"

Rael snorted.

"Hmmp."

Before the tension could snap into blows, a blossom of light exploded between them—Lira's barrier.

Her face was red with fury.

"Focus on the fight, guys!!! If you want to kill each other, wait until the monsters are gone!"

The abomination screeched, ribcage splitting wider as worms poured out. They lashed against the barriers, forcing Lira back a step.

Kaen surged forward, flames roaring.

"Echo Art—Blazing Fist!"

Rael followed, his blade cleaving radiant arcs. Together, they ripped chunks from the monster's body but every wound crawled with worms, knitting it back together.

It didn't just survive. It grew.

Mist thickened, compressing into flesh. Extra arms sprouted, covered in chitin and eyes. The skeletal face split into a grotesque grin as if mocking them.

Then a voice, layered and venomous, whispered through the air.

"Pathetic… copies of strength. Did you think you fought a pawn?"

Kaen froze mid-step.

"…That voice."

The abomination's form convulsed, emerald cracks glowing across its chest. Its eyes no longer blinked erratically, they focused. Intelligent. Malicious.

"I am her Right Hand. A shard of the Eclipse of Jealousy herself. My mistress… Lady Sythen."

Lira's throat tightened.

"Wait—Eclipse…? That means—"

Rael gritted his teeth.

"…This isn't just a puppet."

Kaen's mind raced. (Khael said there'd be another Eclipse Lord aside from Veymorr… but this… this is different. Damn it, he was right.)

The abomination raised its claw, black Shinrei gathering like a storm. With a single sweep, tendrils lashed out in every direction.

Kaen braced, fire cloaking him. He tanked the blow head-on, his body shuddering but unyielding. Blood sprayed from his mouth, but he grinned through the pain.

"Hah! That all you got?!"

Rael, even while shaken, caught Kaen's recklessness with a glare.

"Idiot—you can't just eat those hits!"

Kaen spat blood, wiped his lips, and smirked.

"What? You jealous my body's tougher than your shiny armor?"

Rael's eye twitched.

"…Pathetic."

But Seraphis's voice chimed within him. (He buys you time. Stop wasting it with pride. Strike while you can.)

Rael nodded slightly, adjusting his stance. Lira, panting, forced her Shinrei outward again. Blossoms spiraled across Rael's frame, knitting cracks in his armor, softening the toll of Judicator Form.

She smiled weakly.

"Don't say I never do anything for you, Rael."

Rael's aura flared brighter, stabilized.

"…Fine. You have my thanks."

The abomination roared, worms forming a massive spear in its hand. It lunged, aiming to skewer Kaen where he stood.

Kaen clenched his fist, Shinrei surging. (Time to try that old man's trick… rhythm, not power.)

His body moved in sync with his breathing, fire pulsing like a heartbeat. The spear slammed into him yet his flames wrapped around it, bending the void's trajectory just enough for Rael to slash clean through it.

Rael shouted.

"Judicator Echo Art: Radiant Sever!"

Kaen followed with a guttural roar.

"Echo Art: Flame Breaker!"

Their strikes crossed, light and fire converging. The abomination's chest cracked open, worms shrieking as they burned.

For a moment, it looked like they won.

Then its body swelled grotesquely. More eyes opened. More mouths screamed. The fragment of Lady Sythen's will pulsed stronger, feeding on their very Shinrei.

Rael staggered.

"…It's adapting."

Kaen's grin faltered.

"You gotta be kidding me."

Lira's voice trembled.

"If it keeps evolving, we… we can't win like this!"

The ground shook violently. From the distance, the clash of titans thundered—Captain Kaedros locked in his own battle against Lady Sythen herself. Sparks of divine steel and emerald jealousy clashed in the horizon.

Kaen's eyes narrowed, determination flaring.

"…Then we finish this here. Together."

Rael stared at him, hesitant. His pride resisted but Seraphis's firm voice echoed in his heart..

Rael exhaled sharply.

"…Fine. Just don't die before me, loser."

Kaen smirked, flames swelling.

"Tch. Don't blame me when I outshine you."

Lira's Shinrei bloomed around them both, weaving their powers together, amplifying their resonance. Her voice rang clear, stronger than before.

"If you're going to kill yourselves—do it right! I'll hold you both together until it's done!"

The abomination screeched, its body splitting wide, emerald light gushing like a beacon.

Kaen and Rael charged fire and light entwined, two rivals burning themselves alive for a suicidal strike.

Their powers spiraled upward, fusing into a cataclysm that even the Right Hand could not contain.

And as their combined attack tore through its core, their voices overlapped—

"Judicator—Echo Art: Final Severance!"

The battlefield exploded in radiance and fire.
