Chapter 279: Concealment cultivation arts
Eryndor counted his remaining resources, and determined that he had enough to shop around.
I'll go bankrupt after this, but that's alright. I'll at least have some unconventional things to protect or strengthen myself.
With that thought in mind, Eryndor began going through the various shops once again and the items situated in them.
He had thought that the maximum price of information was already ridiculous, but there were even items in a few shops which had prices matching exceeding that.
Would they even sell such precious items though? They are probably just there as a showpiece and a way to attract the customers I guess.
Finally, Eryndor decided to buy after scouring through the place for interesting items.
The thing he bought was a cultivation art to mask his presence. They were called concealment cultivation arts.
He also learned that these types of arts had even more classifications under them.
These type of cultivation arts which could mask presence could do a variety of things like -
Masking sounds, breath, body heat. Making one invisible. Masking killing intent.
Covering cultivation level, or even the aura which is radiated when using cultivation arts.
Covering the soul fluctuations, such that people wouldn't be able to use such arts to detect the state or location of the user.
There were even cultivation arts which were good at masking one's presence to such an extent that one couldn't detect the user even through their 'sixth sense' of danger.
Then there were cultivation arts to mask the emotional and hostile fluctuations of the user as well.
Lastly, there were even arts which could mask one's presence to such an extent that they wouldn't be found even through karmic links and other divination arts.
Eryndor believed in trying to be as safe as possible, but his current resources weren't enough to buy a cultivation art which would include all the above masking effects, not to mention such a cultivation art didn't exist in the shop of the black market either.
Since that wasn't possible, he glanced through the various available cultivation arts and chose one which would make the user invisible, mask the sound, breath, and body heat.
These things were what the majority of the surveillance cultivation arts used to detect the targets in their range.
Since his masking cultivation art could cover up these things, it meant he could now sneak up on the majority of the disciples without being caught.
Uh, I don't have much left now.
Eryndor glanced at the remaining resources.
After half an hour of walking around, Eryndor found nothing to his liking which could be bought with his low amount of resources.
As he thought of leaving, Eryndor walked towards one of the official stalls of the black market and asked the person in black robe.
"Uh, I wanted to ask how to exit? And if there are better routes to arrive at this place."
It was a female, Eryndor realised this when she looked up to reply to him.
"Fifty spirit coins."
Might as well pay for it, I don't want to keep going through that trap.
As soon as he paid, he got a small note which contained the location of other 'doors', and a way to exit.
Eryndor knew what those doors meant. They were very likely like the door which stood at the end of the trap route.
He then found one of the exit points, and waited for a minute.
This was so that people who ended up in these areas don't accidentally get thrown out of the black market. It was also so that one couldn't run away immediately after stealing from some shop.
One had to wait in these designated spots for a minute before you'll be teleported out of the black market. Your landing spot would be near the door you arrived from.
After going through the familiar teleportation experience, Eryndor glanced around, picking a direction before he began walking.
He checked the list he made of the dangers, and decided to complete them in line.
The first one on it was to consult a master regarding the case of sky reaching bamboo.
To ask them a question, I'll need some resources first to pay them.
With that, Eryndor released his Spatial Sight and tried to find beasts to hunt.
Approximately two to three hours later, he had hunted nine beasts in the Stable realm.
Majority of his time was wasted in travelling itself. It was because he simply couldn't find a group of beasts.
He only kept finding beasts which were moving alone. He also didn't catch sight of beasts like six legged scaled monkeys which would call out their own species for reinforcement.
He could've used that to lure a group of beasts.
Eryndor wasn't afraid of group battles currently. He was full of both Energy of Consciousness and Qi.
As for Spiritual energy? Well, he was full of that as well, but not having learned any corresponding mental spell, he couldn't really exhibit any significant combat prowess in that power system.
Did the black market deliberately put their door in such a place? Where there aren't any large numbers of strong beasts?
Could be.
Eryndor didn't stay too long on that train of thought, it wasn't of much use.
He carefully avoided disciples using his Spatial Sight, then began using his surveillance cultivation art when he arrived at the shallow layer of the forest, which was close to the Training Camp.
He calmly entered the building while carrying useful parts of beasts he had hunted.
Since he hadn't taken up any mission, he first looked at the mission board if there were any missions corresponding to the hunt of beasts he had already killed.
There were three.
He turned in the identification body parts of those three beasts and sold the remaining parts alongside the other six beasts.
A few moments later after getting the confirmation of mission completion, he got the rewards, then he sold those parts as well.
All in all, he earned around two hundred seventy spirit coins.
Do I have enough to request an audience with a master?
