Chapter 27: Fulfilling Vacation

Chapter 28: Fulfilling Vacation

Alex's Rolls-Royce Phantom VI glided smoothly to a stop outside the familiar house at Number Four, Privet Drive.

Alex stepped out of the car. He adjusted his black suit, and walked toward the Dursleys' front door.

As Alex reached the door, he knocked firmly. There was a brief pause before it opened. Petunia Dursley stood there, her eyes widening as soon as she saw Alex.

"You... you're the man from the news!" Petunia gasped, clutching the doorframe as if she might fall over. "You're the one who made that... that diamond encapsulation thing!"

Alex gave her a calm, polite smile. "Yes, that's me. And I've come for Harry."

Vernon Dursley, who had been standing behind Petunia, stepped forward with a nervous look. His face paled at the sight of Alex, his gaze flickering to the luxury car parked outside.

"Is everything alright?" Vernon asked, his voice stiff with concern, though he clearly didn't want to offend the man standing before him.

[Pfft. He's really bloated and crazier than described.] Lily's voice sounded in Alex's mind, full of laughter.

Alex ignored Lily, turning his attention to Vernon.

"I'm here to take Harry," Alex said, his tone cool and firm. "I invited him for a vacation. Besides, the kid has been locked in his room like you don't want him near you, so you wouldn't mind me taking him, would you?"

Vernon's face flushed with discomfort. He swallowed hard. "We—we've done nothing wrong. Harry's been treated like family."

Alex's eyes narrowed slightly, the smile fading. "I know the truth, Mr. Dursley. And I assure you, I will take necessary measures if I get annoyed. If you don't cooperate with me, I can easily have the authorities take you in for questioning. Do you really want that?"

Petunia's expression twisted with fear, and her voice trembled. "W-We've never hurt Harry—"

"You've kept him locked upstairs, isolated, and starved," Alex interrupted, his voice cold. "That's abuse, Mrs. Dursley. I myself am a wizard, so you know not all wizards are kind-hearted and… follow the law."

Vernon's jaw clenched, his face turning red. "You can't just waltz in here and take him!"

"I can, and I will," Alex said, his voice growing more forceful. "Now, you'll hand over Harry."

The Dursleys exchanged uneasy glances. Petunia looked as if she might protest, but Vernon, his voice low and tense, finally spoke.

"We... we don't want any trouble," Vernon muttered, clearly intimidated by Alex's calm, authoritative demeanor. "Fine. Take him. But if anything happens to that boy, we won't be held responsible."

Alex nodded. "Of course. I'll make sure nothing happens to him."

Turning to the stairs, Alex climbed up and opened the door of Harry's room. Harry was there, clearly listening to the conversation below. Alex beckoned him forward. "Come on, Harry. It's time to go."

Harry's eyes were wide with disbelief and relief as he followed Alex outside.

"Don't forget about Hedwig too, and also your luggage," Alex reminded him.

"Oh, sorry, I was just... excited," Harry stuttered, hurrying to pack his things.

His heart raced, but there was also a sense of freedom he hadn't felt in years.

The next morning, Alex took Harry on their first adventure, flying in a private plane to Paris.

They landed in the heart of the city, and after a brief walk through the crowded streets, Alex led Harry to a hidden magical alley that only wizards could see. This was the secret Paris, where wizards and witches lived side by side with Muggles.

They toured the Paris Hidden Place, which was more organized and orderly than Diagon Alley. They saw various alchemy products, more widely available than in Diagon Alley.

"It's beautiful and more populated," Harry commented.

"Yes, Harry. Not only England, other places have magical communities too. Magic schools, magic shops, and magical heritage. Though not as numerous as non-magical folks, wizards are in quite a considerable number as well."

Next, Alex and Harry ventured to Romania, where the dragon farms were. As they stood on a rocky cliff, Harry saw majestic dragons flying overhead, their scales shimmering in the sun.

"They look intimidating." Harry muttered absentmindedly.

"Dragons are powerful beings," Alex said. "But they're not inherently evil. They're part of the natural order of this world, just like any other creature."

"They're huge! I saw a skeleton at Hogwarts, but that one was smaller," said Harry.

"That's a different species, Harry. There are all kinds of dragon breeds, but some have gone extinct."

[I want dragons in Min Heimer too, but the pretty ones.] Lily said to Alex.

"Yeah, let's find some inspiration in some worlds another time," Alex responded.
