I Am A Table [LitRPG Isekai Progression Fantasy]

Chapter 101: I didn’t travel to ANOTHER realm just to be disturbed by some fools!

Anders stopped for a second. From afar, Blorbo couldn't see him clearly, but it seemed as though his amusement had vanished and been replaced by a fierce concentration. His wand even vibrated in his grip. This time, instead of a direct beam, Anders began to conjure thread after thread of gossamer-thin, silvery magic.

"What's that?" Lena asked.

The threads interwove to form a glowing web in the air between Anders and the dark walls, almost like invisible violin strings vibrating, just without music.

"I haven't seen that before," Ducaz replied. "It felt less like an attack and more like a meticulous deconstruction."

Minutes crawled by. The constant barrage of chewing gum from the Gummy Bear archers continued, harmlessly bouncing off the Queen or adhering to her scales, but Anders seemed to ignore them completely. His eyes were fixed on the gingerbread wall, sweat beading on his forehead despite the cool air of the Candy Realm. His magic had even started making sizzling sounds.

"He's chipping at it, I think," Rob said.

"You know what he's doing?" Lena asked. But Rob didn't elaborate anymore.

Griesa just let out a 'hmph'. "Who cares what he's doing? This isn't even our battle."

Marin waved at everyone. "Let's get closer. I can sense a crucial moment coming."

Just as Marin spurred his horse forward, the high-pitched whine emanating from Anders's spell reached a deafening crescendo. A single, razor-thin beam of pure, focused magical energy, almost invisible in its intensity, shot from his wand.

Marin moved first. Griesa kicked on her donkey and shouted, "Didn't you hear him? The battle is reaching its climax! It's our personal responsibility to end it! Wait for me, Ser!" Her donkey started hopping and shaking its butt as it moved.

Anders' beam penetrated the walls. It bored a perfect, tiny hole into the dark gingerbread, like a spear of light piercing the fortress.

And then, with a sound like a million cookies crumbling at once, the walls collapsed. The towers tumbled; the battlement swayed. Gummy Bear archers shrieked as they fell with their collapsing stronghold.

"Charge forward!" A dragonkin man bellowed, and his comrades barreled forward at once.

[AGI check: Keep up the pace]

[Reach the fortress in 30 seconds]

Reward: 2 AGI

What? How? I'm not even the one running.

Wait. I can will Lena to run faster!

He immediately spammed his Verbal Nudge skill with a fervor that would put a caffeinated woodpecker to shame. RUN, LENA! RUN! FASTER! FORWARD! AGILITY CHECK! XP! XP! FASTER! I NEED THAT AGILITY CHECK! RUN! FAST FAST FAST!

Lena, still wincing slightly from the earlier hit, suddenly burst forward. She zipped past dragonkin soldiers and over gummy bear debris, and even almost kept up with the butt-shaking donkey.

Rob, who had been preparing to sprint himself, stared after her in utter flummox. His jaw dropped. "Lena? Why are you running so fast?!" he shouted.

"I have to!" Lena screamed back. "I need that agility check!"

"What do you mean?!"

But she just kept running. He dashed to catch up.

GOOD. GO GO GO.

From the swirling dust and crumbling remains of the gingerbread castle, cobalt blue energy erupted. A sweeping, razor-sharp force slashed through the air. The front detachment of Dragonkin flew off as the wave slammed at them, sending them backward through the marshmallow dust. Two unfortunate Dragonkin in the very front were cleanly sliced in half. Even the dragon queen seemed shocked at the retaliation as she retreated a couple steps backward.

[Skill Identified: ??? - Epic-level Spell - Level ???]

Lena stopped.

An Epic spell?! On second thought, we don't need the 2 AGI that much, Lena…

"Who dares penetrate my walls? I didn't travel to ANOTHER realm just to be disturbed by some fools!"

A gigantic figure emerged from the rubble. It was a giant gummy bear, impossibly large, seeming to rise even taller than the now-fallen walls themselves. The bear was monolithic block of dark, almost black gummy, with a crude but regal crown of crystallized sugar sitting precariously atop its massive head. This was clearly the Gummy Bear King.

[AGI Check Failed]

"Huh? So who is it? Is it the old man on that dragon?" But the voice that had bellowed was not the King's. Perched on the very center of the Gummy Bear King's head was a tiny human. From Blorbo's perspective, the man was almost indiscernible, a mere speck against the giant gummy head. But he was there.

Anders bellowed back, "I figured a hobbit of a man would be behind this confectionery abomination. Seemed I was right."

The man bellowed back again, but louder, "You call the pinnacle of rogue innovation an abomination? And you dare breach my sanctum while I am merely observing the local flora and fauna!"

Anders bellowed back, even louder than the man's louder, "I do not waste words with manchildren of substandard heights hiding behind a mountain of candy! Take this!"

Anders's wand blazed with an angry, emerald green light. It shot forth like a drill. The man atop the Gummy Bear King extended his thin staff. From its tip, a counter-spell erupted—a swirling vortex of opaque, swirling black licorice. The two spells collided mid-air with a bang.

Griesa put another monocle in front of her existing monocle, squinted, then squinted harder. "I knew I recognized that voice," she said. "That's Master Sensei!"
