Hunter x Hunter : Germain Joins The Hunt

Chapter 224: Chapter 213 : Bloodthirsty Apostle of Pain!!

The "Brion Parasites," now without their main target, wandered aimlessly for a few minutes before finally noticing Germain, Bisky, and Shizuku.

One by one, the creatures turned towards them, shoving aside the cube-shaped stone pillars. The pillars collapsed with a thunderous crash, and the parasites trampled over the corpses of their fallen kin as they charged forward.

Bisky immediately transformed into her large, muscular form, her clothes straining and almost tearing as they stretched over her bulging muscles.

Shizuku gripped her "Blinky" vacuum tightly, her eyes fixed on the approaching beasts.

The two of them activated the "Designated Card: Substitute Armor," which enveloped them in a layer of greenish-blue armor.

This "Substitute Armor" could resist physical attacks, but its durability was unpredictable due to the strict conditions tied to it. It might last through 100 strikes, or it could shatter after just one. This uncertainty made it unreliable for defense.

Despite this, the two donned the armor and prepared to face the oncoming beasts.

Germain, meanwhile, stayed close to his "Fragrant Maiden" conjuration, silently restoring his aura while keeping a close eye on Bisky and Shizuku.

If he noticed that they were struggling, he was ready to step in immediately.

Fortunately, the "Ominous Undead" had already cleared out a large number of the "Brion Parasites," leaving only a dozen or so to deal with.

Bisky and Shizuku fought back the remaining creatures. Their "Substitute Armor" shattered one after another during the battle, but they managed to avoid any serious injuries.

After a while, Ging finally appeared.

Covered in blood, he emerged from the fray, smashing one of the "Brion Parasites" with a powerful aura blast before rushing over to the group.

The "Fragrant Maiden" had already dissipated, unable to maintain its form any longer. With Ging's arrival, Germain also stopped restoring his aura.

"I've taken care of the 'Night Stalker Shark,'" Ging said succinctly. "For the next few days, until a new 'Night Stalker' creature arrives, we shouldn't have to deal with that kind of trouble again."

The four regrouped.

Germain turned to point at the "Peculiar Reed Forest" in the distance. "Let's head into the core area now."

"Alright," the others agreed in unison.

Under the intense gaze of the many "Brions Parasite Species," the four of them plunged into the dense "Strange Reed Forest." With their size, they quickly disappeared from sight.

Germain and the others stepped onto the muddy ground. The towering "Reeds" completely blocked the moonlight, plunging them into a dim environment.

Behind them, the roars of the "Brions Parasite Species" could be heard. Some of the giant beasts hesitated, but others followed Germain and the group into the forest, crushing large patches of "Reeds."

It was at this moment that a strange atmosphere began to spread.

The muddy ground trembled, and the tall "Reeds" violently swayed from side to side, as if a wild celebration was about to begin.

The "Brions Parasite Species" that had carelessly entered the area finally sensed something was wrong.

They turned to flee, but in the deafening, earth-shaking rumble, they saw mist rising!

From all directions around the "Core Area," "Fog Walls" quickly appeared!

The "Fog Walls" shot up from the ground, blocking the area like a sorrowful wall, separating the "Core Area" from the outside.

The "Brions Parasite Species" outside could no longer enter, and those inside couldn't escape.

The "Ancient Labyrinth City" was thus divided into two worlds.

Ssssss—

Germain held a flamethrower and, without hesitation, unleashed a burst of flames that illuminated their surroundings.

Looking down, they realized the ground wasn't "muddy" at all. It was constantly bubbling, covered by a fragrant plant smell, but underneath, it was decaying blood and flesh, now turning bright red in the blazing fire.

In the open area where the fire was spreading, they looked toward the epicenter of the rumbling earthquake.

There, rising from the blood and flesh, was a pulsating "Brions" that was even larger than any they had seen before.

It spiraled, shaking off the dirt and filth that had clung to it, before cracking open.

At that moment, the earthquake stopped, as if it had never happened.

The "Brions" cracked open in several places, like a flower bud slowly blooming. Then, numerous thick, sturdy vines shot up, lifting it high into the air.

From the perspective of Germain and the others, this blooming "Brion" nearly blocked the moon in the sky, or rather, it had replaced the moon's position.

Aside from a few of the thickest and largest vines that supported the "Brion," the rest were smaller vines, swaying in the air like jellyfish tentacles.

A rich and captivating fragrance spread from its petals and stamen, carried by the night wind to distant places, so powerful that it could travel out of the "Ancient Labyrinth City," attracting more nearby "beasts."

After a period of silence, Ging tilted his head, staring at the enormous creature, and spoke first.

"This is the strongest monster recorded in East Edition's 'Ancient Labyrinth City'..."

"The 'Ancient Labyrinth City' is like Pandora's box. Once the lid is opened, it releases 'disasters,' and what's hidden inside the box is 'hope.'"

"If we don't kill it, or if it kills us, the 'Fog Wall' will never disappear. The 'Fog Wall' will trap us in this prison forever."

"It was named by Don Freecss as the 'Bloodthirsty Apostle of Pain.'"

The "Bloodthirsty Apostle of Pain" began to float, just like a jellyfish.

It swung its vines through a sea of flames, with many tiny black spores falling off, plopping into the blood sea like raindrops.

Soon, with the sound of rushing water, these spores rapidly advanced through the blood, revealing tiny sharp teeth and tentacles, rushing toward Germain and the others like swarms of piranhas.

Their targets weren't just Germain and his group, but also the "Brion parasitic seeds" that had accidentally wandered into this place and hadn't managed to escape.

The black spores were clearly more powerful, and they showed no distinction between enemies and allies.

They leapt directly from the blood pool, swarming the "Brion parasitic seeds," using their sharp teeth and tentacles to directly consume their flesh.

Soon, the "Brion parasitic seeds" shriveled up, as if only skin remained, one after another collapsing into the blood sea.

The group felt a chill run down their spines.

"Its target is all life except itself," Ging said. "The only way to end this riot is to eliminate it."

"The good news is that the spores falling off from the 'Bloodthirsty Apostle of Pain' won't parasitize the body."

"The bad news is that they like to feed on flesh and blood, and eventually, they will return to the 'Bloodthirsty Apostle of Pain' to nourish the mother body."

Germain didn't say much more, calmly taking out the "Free Card · Sanbica's Ultimate Recovery Potion" from his card box and unsealing it.

With a swoosh, he injected the "Sanbica's Ultimate Recovery Potion" into his arm. A rush of blood and excitement surged through him.

For the next hour, his "Physical Recovery" and "Nen Recovery" would be maximized.

The cost was that after an hour, the effect would wear off, and he would experience about half a day of fatigue.

Seeing Germain act so decisively, Ging, Bisky, and Shizuku no longer hesitated. They followed suit, using the "Sanbica's Ultimate Recovery Potion" and injecting it into their bodies.

They then switched to their "Stand Armor," ready for the battle ahead.

The reason they hadn't used the "Stand Armor" earlier was to save it for this final confrontation.

After all, the number of "Stand Armor" they could create and use was limited.

With a puff puff puff sound, the "Bloodthirsty Spores" bypassed the fire blocking their path and finally reached the four Nen users, launching their attack.

Germain conjured the Tachi Thousand Shadows, a sword with a bloodlust no less than that of the spores.

He dipped the tip of the blade into the flesh and blood at his feet, letting it absorb power.
