Chapter 33: God Speed x Janken
I wrote this at work, guys. Don't expect much from it; I have very little time to write, but I am trying. Thank you for still staying with me.
Killua was free from his brother's control; his mind was free from other thoughts, and he could now focus on what was happening before him. He could still feel the murderous intent coming from the man before him. However, he did not feel that overwhelming fear he had felt before; Killua didn't feel like he had to run.
The coordination between Killua and Gon became even more seamless. As Zark ordered one to stop, the other would attack, making it hard for Zark to focus on the fight. That only helped Gon and Killua for a moment as their battle continued. Zark was getting used to their way of fighting. However, Killua changed his way of fighting; his strikes were more lethal and precise and aimed to kill. While he had been aiming to kill before, he had always been hesitant, his fear making him worry about his opponent.
Gon also saw this change; his attacks became even more powerful. A smile was on his face as he fought alongside Killua. 'Damn it, how are they becoming stronger?' Zark thought he was already getting the hang of their way of fighting. However, they suddenly became more muscular, especially the Silverhead, Killua. "You both can't move!" Zark shouted, making Gon and Killua stop in their tracks right in the middle of an attack.
Zark attacked them both with unnatural speed; however, Killua and Gon could still guard themselves with Ken. Gon was punched in the face while Killua was punched in the stomach, making him cough out spit because of the attack, but his Ken had worked well and guarded against the attack. It didn't take them long for both Killua and Gon to be able to move. Killua also noticed the time limit; while the man could stop them, it didn't stop them for long.
Killua retreated and came to Gon's side, "Gon, the time he can keep us under his control is limited; we can use that," Killua whispered to Gon. "Umm," Gon said, nodding, still watching Zark.
They both started attacking again but were still struggling to fight back; while they occasionally landed a few punches, they weren't enough. They were getting hit more than the punches they could land. "Stop," Zark commanded Gon, thinking he had made him stop. Zark confidently turned to face Killua, who was closer to landing an attack; however, he was too overconfident, and Gon was too unpredictable or maybe stupid. Gon didn't wait for the time limit to finish. He broke free and landed a powerful punch into Zark's ribs. Zark was caught off guard and was sent flying off to the side, three of his ribs broken; he had guarded at the last minute, or the damage would have been worse.
"Gon, you idiot, what are you doing," Killua punched Gon in the head as he saw the number one on his forehead change to the number two. "What, Killua? I did what you said; you told me to use the time to attack," Gon said, misunderstanding what Killua had said. "I told you to wait until you could move again to attack," Killua explained what he had meant.
"Is fine; he said nothing would happen until the number reached Ten, right," Gon said sheepishly. Killua was grinding his teeth at Gon's actions, but he had to put that aside; Zark had stood up about why Killua hadn't attacked Zark while he was down. Killua was worried about Gon. He didn't know if there was something Zark was hiding; he could have been lying about his Hatsu.
"Never mind. We've been taking too long fighting this guy," Killua said. Although it seemed like the fight had only been a few minutes, it had been thirty minutes since they had started. "I have something that could beat him; I need you to buy me time, Gon," Killua looked into Gon's eyes, pleading. Without any hesitation, Gon agreed, "Don't worry, Killua, I trust you; I will hold him down until you're ready," Gon said, looking back at Killua. "Thank you, Gon." That meant more to Killua than Gon could know; he had also heard Hisoka's assessment of the different personalities of the different Nen types, and it had been in the back of his mind ever since.
"Ha-ha, are you running away now?" Zark said. He was about to stop Killua, but Gon flashed into his line of view with an attack. With Gon's help, Killua was able to retreat. He sped out of the ruined buildings in search of what he needed ever since he had been captured and landed on a wire that had electrocuted him. He had been thinking about his Hatsu. Killua also remembers what Jett had told him, "Your Hatsu has to come from you; a Hatsu has to play to your strengths," The idea had exploded ever since that time, the perfect Hatsu for him.
Killua had to run a while before finding a building with electricity running through it. When he did find it, he rushed inside, not waiting. He punched the wall and pulled electrical wires out. His body was instantly shocked, but he had been tortured with electricity before; it didn't bother him. He closed his eyes, letting the electricity run through his body. He focused on fusing all that with his Nen.
Gon, on the other hand, was having a hard time. Without Killuas's help, Zark could stop Gon at every turn. Zarks Hatsu worked better in one-on-one fights. However, Gon wasn't giving up; his attacks were getting stronger. While he didn't land and attack, the air would ripple the dust, making it visible every time Zark would feel air pressure touching his body where the attack would have landed. "What is that? I can feel it; I will be one step in the grave if his attacks land. The shock wave shakes my bones; I must be careful," Zark deduced.
Gon was using Fishman Karate, and as time passed, they continued to fight. Zark used his Hatsu to stop Gon, and Gon had now accumulated five numbers on his forehead. He had used those three times to attack Zark, but Zark had already seen Gon do that, so he was on guard for it. Gon stopped breaking free from the control while he wanted to land a punch; he now needed to buy time for Killua.
It didn't take Killua long to return. He had figured out how to perform his Hatsu, and his body was sparkling with electric currents. His Nen was conducting the electricity through his body. He wasn't immune to the electricity; he just had a high tolerance to electrical shock. With his Hatsu ready, he hurried to Gon's location.
In a flash of white light, Killua appears between Gon and Zark. "Killua!" Gon, who saw Killua sparkling with electricity, his hair raised in the air, shouted. "Is this your Hatsu?" Gon asked. Zark was surprised; he didn't move from the spot and stop attacking Gon. He hadn't seen the other boy arrive. There was only a blur of light, and he had appeared; he could also sense danger from the new appearance of the boy, "Yes, I call it God Speed," Zark heard the boy say.
"Don't move..." Zark is wary and wants to common Killua, but in a flash of lightning, Killua appears in front of Zark. Killuas's hand, like a claw, gathers electricity and attacks Zark in the chest, aiming for his heart.
"Ahh-Ahh!" Zark let out a loud shout. He didn't see Killua move, but the moment he had left his line of sigh, he had guarded himself with Ken and Ryo to focus on the last minute on the source of the attack, but the electricity had spread over his body, shocking him. To his shock, he also saw Gon take that opportunity to attack.
"You damn little bastards, I was going to enjoy killing you slowly, but you piss me off," Zark said with hatred in every word. Gon and Killua didn't falter, taking a stand to attack. However, before they could do anything, Zark took the lead. "Pain!" Zark said with an evil smile on his face.
"Ahh!" Killua screamed in pain, "Killua!" Gon panicked at Killua's scream rush to help him, but that gave Zark an opening. A powerful force struck him across the face; he had been struck in the face a few times, yet the hit felt different this time. It hurt more, and the pain had been triple. Killua also felt the pain; he was used to it. He could endure the electricity; however, as soon as the man said the word pain, it rushed to every part of his body.
"Ha-ha, stopping your movements isn't the only thing my Hatsu can do; it can do more, especially for those who have broken free from my commands," Zark said darkly, looking at God, who had broken free from his command.
"Like you, little boy, you should have thought twice before you broke free. I command that you can't breathe," Zark said. Gon suddenly found himself unable to breathe. Gon clutched at his throat, trying to intake air; he thought it would be like the rest of the times Gon was commanded to do something; he only had to wait a few seconds for the feeling of restraint to leave his body, but this time, it lasted longer. He panicked and tried to break free, but he felt it took more willpower than he thought.
As Gon's face started to turn red, Killua worried. Zark was also attacking him. The pain he felt before had passed, and Zark hadn't commanded anything. "Gon! What's wrong with you?" Killua shouted when he was free from Zark's attack. "he should have been more careful; the closer the number gets to Ten, the more I can control him, and the harder it will be to break free," Zark taunted mockingly.
'Damn, I knew it, stupid Gon,' Killua said inwardly; before he could say anything else, he heard Gon shout. "Ah!" with a Nen explosion, Gon broke free from the control he was under; his eyes were red, moist with tears of choking.
Killua quickly moved to Gon's side with a flash. "Are you okay, Gon?"
"Yes, Sorry, Killua, I let my guard down; Jett would punch me if he knew," Gon said with a sad look. He remembered what Jett had told him time and time again, "Don't underestimate a Hatsu you have no information about, or you will die," Killua looked at Gon with a thoughtful look, while he did think what Gon did was stupid, it did give them information on the enemy. The enemy is also arrogant and reveals the workings of his Hatsu, arrogantly thinking he has already won. Killua also had experience with this kind of people. They often let their guard down in those moments, yet Killua couldn't wait anymore. He was reaching his limit, and he could see Gon was too.
"Gon, my Hatsu is already running out; it won't hold on," Killua said; he didn't wait for a response from Gon.
"I can stop him for a few seconds. Can you take him down in that moment?" Killua looked at Gon in the eyes. Gon smiled. "Leave it to me," he said, his eyes unwavering. I also have a Hatsu I came up with," Gon said soon after.
"I'll leave it to you," Killua said, attacking. The conversation didn't take more than a few seconds. Zark had allowed it, thinking nothing would change.
Killua had figured something out about Zarks Hatsu. He had to have his target in his vision. If it had been related to sound, he, too, would have frozen or been unable to breathe when he gave the order. Killua was making sure Gon was never in Zark's line of sight.
"Jan-Ken," they both heard Gon, followed by an explosion of Nen. Killua, who could see Gon, saw as all the aura in Gon's body gathered on his fist as if it were draining like water. Killua knew what Gon was doing, and he couldn't help but feel that this attack suited Gon well.
"Time to do my part," Killua said.
Gathering his Nen, he exploded in a rush of speed, fusing his electrical speed with a flash step, allowing him to move even faster. Zark lost sight of Killua, whose speed was too fast to track with the naked eye. At that moment, Zark worried about Killua's speed and ignored Gon, thinking he could stop him by commanding him with his Hatsu. "Thunderbolt," Zark heard Killua's voice above him. He quickly used his own Nen to try and defend against the lighting. However, that gave Gon the opportunity he needed.
"First come rock, Jan-ken, Rock!" Zark, dealing with the lighting, had no time to deal with Gon. At the last minute, he tried to command Gon but noticed that Gon's fist was already in front of him—a loud rumbling followed by noises of demolition of buildings falling from the aftershock. Gon stood inside a large pit, Zark at his feet, his face with an imprint of Gon's fist. He was passed out cold, and his eyes rolled back. Only the white of his eyes could remain.
