Chapter 93: Oriventh Hundred Trial
The battlefield is sheer chaos as the magic knights aggressively push forward toward me.
My shadow knights do their best to fight against the onslaught of magic knights, but the difference in numbers is too much. It gets to the point my shadow knights have to form a circle around me as the pressure from the magic knights becomes too strong.
Spells of fire, water, ice, earth, and wind litter the battlefield. Flashes of red, green, and blue colors illuminate the arena. I use my wind magic to form tornadoes and create chaos among the magic knight formations.
More of my shadow knights fall until there are only fifteen left.
I grit my teeth as I know once the dust settles, we will be dead meat.
I point my Wand of Origin at the ground. The wand vibrates with power as it senses my intentions. The mana I have stored in my body is enough for this tenth-level affinity spell. One. Two. I take a deep breath.
"Tenth affinity level magic, Shadow Gigantica!"
The ground shakes heavily, causing a few magic knights to fall down. Ten shadow giants immediately rise out of the ground. This is a spell more advanced than the shadow summoning spell and uses giants instead of knights. The giants pick up leftover large boulders from the ground and chuck them at the magic knights, which temporarily makes them lose their train of thought.
"AHHH!"
Several magic knights fall under one boulder. Another unit of magic knights falls under another boulder. However, they quickly regroup again as they once did before, like with the shadow knights. These are some pretty resilient magic knights of the Oriventh Empire. I can admit that at least.
I raise my wand up into the air again, trying to keep up the pressure with my remaining shadow knights and shadow giants. I decide I will use a relatively easy spell, which I can use with the extra power given to me by the Wand of Origin.
"Tenth affinity level magic, Hellfire!"
Flames burst forth from the tip of my wand into the air to form several circles of flames above my head. They launch fireballs rapidly at the magic knights, which throws them into disarray as I command my shadow units to attack. They didn't have an attack from the air yet, so it puts more pressure on them.
I continue to unleash all the elements against the magic knights with my shadow army. My body becomes a whirlwind of elements as I dual-wield my way to the leaders of the magic knights.
If I can defeat their group leaders, I can defeat them all.
A couple of my shadow giants evaporate. They allow me enough time, though, to cut through the middle of their force and split the magic knights into two separate units. A smile forms across my face as an idea flashes into my mind. I quickly raise my origin wand and aim it down the middle between both of the surprised, split magic knight forces.
"Ninth affinity level magic, Separato Frosto!"
Two massive walls of hardened ice burst from the ground, officially splitting the magic knight army in half. There should be around thirty-five magic knights on each side, accounting for the additional losses I didn't count. It makes the fighting much easier when they can't overwhelm us with sheer numbers.
Things are looking up for us as the magic knights panic, and we manage to pick off more magic knights. However, all my shadow giants are gone since they were targeted. I only have around ten shadow knights in total left, which means I have five on each side. I didn't think about that.
I run over to the left side of the arena, where my shadow knights seem to be struggling. I transform both of my wands into scythes of darkness and light, which the magic knights don't know how to deal with. I parry swords, crack shields, and knock helmets off their heads.
The darkness and light keep the majority of the magic knights at bay.
I transform my scythes back into my two wands as I create a cyclone around me to give me enough time to pop two mana potions. There is one mana potion left. My teeth press against each other as I launch another onslaught of tornadoes. This time, though, they are infused with flames.
The dual usage of magic is enough to throw off some more magic knights.
I manage to get pretty far until I hear my ice walls breaking. I look over to the right side. All my magic knights on that side are gone because I neglected them. My head shakes in frustration. The only things I have left are five shadow knights and me.
I am lucky my shadow knights on the right side managed to take out a few more magic knights.
However, I am still outnumbered, as the magic knights still have about forty members. All the magic knights know this, and they attack us until all my magic knights have vanished. The magic knights have lost more members and now are at thirty.
Thirty veteran magic knights versus one very tired dual-wielding mage.
They wait for me to make a move. The magic knights are being cautious this time. I take the time to reach into my cloak and pull out my last mana restoration potion. My breathing is rapid, my heart is beating so fast, and my knees feel weak.
I don't have much more in me, I think to myself as I look at the thirty still very energized magic knights about to attack me.
I gulp down every last drop of the mana potion and grip both of my wands tightly. I have to make a last-ditch effort to get rid of them within a few spells. I conjure up as much mana as I can at once in the atmosphere around me. Elements start to form all around me. Fire, lightning, darkness, light, water, wind, rocks, dirt, etc., all of it forms around me in a vortex as my body becomes enveloped in a celestial glow.
My eyes become multi-colored as I do my best to control all this magic.
It is all or nothing.
