Chapter 279: Tarot Club : Misunderstandings (2).
Once silence returned to the Sefirah Castle, Snape looked around for a few seconds, before turning towards Loki and asking him a simple question.
"Is it possible to trade for knowledge, Mr. Error?"
Loki gave Snape a penetrating stare while wondering what the man wanted to ask him about.
'Something that he wants to ask a God about…'
'Something that only a god would know…'
'Do I even know any such thing?'
But Loki simply nodded.
'If it is just something that I don't know about, I can just tell him that he isn't high enough in sequence to learn about it.'
Snape paused for a few seconds to word his question right, before asking the question without any frills-
"Could Mr. Error share with us the location of the Chaos Sea?"
Loki's brows raised in surprise.
'The chaos sea?'
'The God Almighty pathway?'
' 'Adam'? So Professor Snape is trying to help 'Him'?'
'Or is it just a test of my knowledge that 'Adam' wants to use to see how ancient I am?'
'...'
'Either way, I can't tell him anything about the location since I don't know anything about it myself.'
Loki then used his spirit vision to study the Body of Heart and Mind of Snape.
'Although most of his thoughts are hidden behind a runic barrier, the colour of his aura is clear enough…'
'A tinge of blue indicates that he is thinking deeply but there is also a bright tinge of red that indicates he is a little excited, and is waiting in anticipation of what I will say and how I'll respond.'
As the silence grew louder, everyone leaned in to show their interest regarding such information.
Although none of them even knew that Snape was talking about a Sefirot, they all felt that if the mostly silent Mr. Moon had something to say, it was probably very interesting.
Except Loki disappointed them all by saying-
"You are not strong enough to learn about it yet.-" Loki said with a pause as he gauged Snape's reaction.
'Ah…his colours dimmed a little…'
'Did he expect to learn something more?'
'Well I can't disappoint him that much too now can I…'
And so Loki continued.
"-Places like those will contaminate you the more you know about them. And if you already know about it, then it is more likely than not that you will run into them or be contaminated by them in some way."
Everyone had a slightly different reaction to those words.
Hermione was amazed that simply learning about something would 'contaminate' you in some way. At the same time, Fleur and Dominic were amazed more than not by Mr. Error's willingness to share such information with Snape to make sure that he wouldn't be contaminated.
'Would it be inconvenient for 'Him' if we were contaminated?' Snape thought when he was presented with the information while Mr. Devil looked at all with a sense of amusement.
'…Mr. Error is an entity that knows information that could be dangerous even to a Demigod! I should inform the Lord about it. I'm sure he will have a few questions he would like answers to too.'
But everyone in the castle also understood the meaning of Loki's words.
As long as you were anyone worth knowing about, you'd already know such a thing.
Loki's words had the intended effect on Snape since his aura was suddenly contaminated by a tinge of green, which indicated calm and thoughtfulness.
But before Loki could dismiss the question, Snape suddenly asked something else.
"Respected Mr. Error if I were to trade the information with you regardless, what would the price be?"
Loki frowned when he heard this but knowing that this was the principle he had set in the first gathering, he spoke again after thinking for a few seconds.
"You are too weak-" Loki said shaking his head softly.
Everyone that was feeling a little afraid that Snape was stepping outside his line by asking Mr. Error the question again when he had already tried to tell him that he was not strong enough politely, nodded their heads.
Especially Sirius, who looked at Snape with a sense of pure joy and satisfaction.
'Ha! What a fool!'
But then a gnawing worm pinched the back of Sirius's mind.
'Well it isn't like I wouldn't like to know more about it myself, but I understand that Mr. Error is being kind to us. But should we all try and pressure him into answering?...I mean can he withstand the amazingness of us, of me? His little Disciples? I mean if this is all just a dream that I'm having...can't I direct it in a way that would help me a little more?'
'Isn't bossing around a True God more Sirius like...it would be a great achievement for the Marauders!!!'
'Why am I so weak in this dream anyway?'
'Shouldn't I be the one sitting at the head of the table?'
'What a strange dream...'
Finally, Loki continued-
"-you can't satisfy the trade. You have nothing interesting enough for me to know about."
Snape frowned a little but understood that he was trying to bargain with a True god.
Either way, it showed to everyone in the Sefirah Castle that Mr. Error wasn't as ruthless a figure as they had made up in their minds.
This was especially helpful for Hermione who was still worried about how she was going to reject Mr. Error's proposal for her to become a Beyonder of an unknown pathway.
Just as Loki was about to end the topic and move on, Snape asked another question, this time to Mr. World.
"Mr. World if I might ask another question?" Snape said with a slightly more respectful tone than before causing Loki to feel a little insulted….
'The hell is he more respectful to an illusion!?'
Loki made Mr. World look at him and nodded after a few seconds.
'He won't ask me something strange again…will he?'
"Mr. World you appeared in a dream of mine."
Loki's eyes widened when he heard that as did the other members of the Tarot Club.
The words caused everyone to behave strangely.
While Hermione was just confused like always, Sirius and Mr. Devil both narrowed their eyes since this meant that Snape's spirituality was trying to warn him about something.
Especially because this was Mr. World's first gathering.
'Why am I in his dreams?'
'Did his spirituality warn him about something?'
'But how did he know about me before I even appeared here?'
"What do you want me to do about it?" Mr. World asked with clear displeasure.
Snape didn't retreat and instead spoke to him in more detail.
"In my dream, you said the following words- 'Time to cure the moon of its sickness.' I wanted to know if you know what this means."
Loki's brows shot up.
'I did that?'
'There are two interpretations to the dream…'
'One is that I cure Professor Snape himself of some corruption.'
'The other is much more scary…'
'I cure the real moon from the corruption of Mother Goddess of Depravity.'
Loki quickly scanned Mr. Moon using his spirit vision to check for any signs of corruption or even subconscious manipulation from 'Adam' like he had noticed in Harry Potter, but either he was too weak to see any such thing, or to his disappointment it meant that the second option was the right one.
So Mr. World spoke with carefully measured words.
"I can think of a few meanings to the strange dream…but I think our lord would know if I am right or wrong."
Snape frowned as did everyone else.
Each one of them thought similarly-
'Was the matter not as simple as we had thought?'
And when Mr. World looked at Mr. Error he just stayed silent and shook his head calmly.
Mr. World sighed before turning to Mr. Moon to speak again.
"I'm sorry I cannot share this information with you. But it isn't because the price hasn't been met, but because you aren't strong enough yet to know about such things."
Snape's frown only deepened but he didn't argue this.
