HP: Bad Intentions

Chapter 321: You’ve seemed a bit tired lately

"Don't worry about it, Nagini. I've actually had a little guess."

Blake said as his wand swept through the air, and with a single motion, the summoning circle in front of him was cleanly erased.

He had started thinking more seriously about a blueprint he'd recently come across, a concept for a mystical artifact called the Eye of Agamotto, his and Nicolas Flamel's latest projects.

Nagini noticed him wrapping things up and couldn't hide her curiosity. "Are you stopping already?" she asked.

Blake looked at her, shrugging. "These tools are just average, not worth keeping around."

Noting her conflicted expression, he asked, "Do you want me to summon someone for you?" With a wave of his hand, he summoned a fresh candle, ready to start a new ritual.

Nagini blinked, surprised at his perceptiveness. She hadn't voiced it aloud, but he seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. After a pause, she shook her head.

"No… I don't need to see anyone from my past," she replied, her voice soft but certain. "What's gone is gone, and I have no regrets now."

Blake put the candle away, nodding in understanding. "Alright, but if you ever change your mind, let me know. It's something I'd gladly help with."

Nagini gave him a faint smile. "Thank you, but the person I was before—let her stay in the past. I'm finally free of that."

He gave her a cheerful nod, and after a moment's silence, Blake's expression brightened.

"Nagini, you've seemed a bit tired lately."

She raised an eyebrow, confused. "Tired? Me? I haven't exactly been in any battles lately."

With a playful grin, Blake replied, "I know, but I'd bet you're still exhausted. Being busy all the time has to be wearing you down, even if you don't realize it. Do you remember that massage technique I showed you before? It's actually great for restoring physical energy."

Nagini's face turned red, her composure breaking. "R-really?" she stammered, already recalling the soothing feeling the massage had given her before. She couldn't help feeling flustered; the technique had an oddly profound effect, one that lingered for a while after.

[Why did Blake suddenly want to give me a massage?]

[Could it be that I was too obvious to be seen by him?]

[What do I do? Does he know what kind of feeling this massage technique will make people feel?]

[Should I... No, he's still so young...]

[What should I do? Do I really have to refuse?]

[But...but I do like it a little... I can't go on thinking like this! I can't!]

Blake caught her inner thoughts, fighting back a smile he said, "Just lie down and relax."

Her cheeks warming, Nagini hesitated, instinct telling her it wasn't exactly a great idea. But her body seemed to betray her, already craving the comfort. Giving in, she settled on the sofa.

Blake grinned, rubbing his hands together in preparation, then gently placed them on her shoulders. "Ready?"

"Ready," she managed to reply, her voice just above a whisper.

"Alright, maximum power," he teased.

Nagini's eyes widened as she felt a warm, relaxing energy spread through her muscles, and despite herself, she couldn't help a soft gasp as the massage continued.

"Aah!"

-----

The next morning, Nagini awoke late, surprised to see the clock already nearing noon. Sitting up, she realized she felt completely refreshed, with no trace of fatigue.

Blake had been right, she thought to herself, the lingering embarrassment fading into satisfaction.

The rejuvenation she felt wasn't just physical; she hadn't felt this good in a long time. Smiling to herself, she headed toward the dining area. A faint shimmer on the dining table caught her eye—a shield spell that kept the food warm.

Inside it, she found a plate of steaming steak. She felt a pang of guilt, realizing that Blake, who she was supposed to look after, had turned the tables and was now caring for her.

"Vroom!"

Suddenly, the sound of an engine broke her reverie. Curious, she headed to the garden outside, where Blake was sitting in an old car's driver's seat, a look of pride on his face.

"Oh, morning—actually, good afternoon, Nagini!" he greeted her as she approached. "Did you eat the food on the table?"

Nagini shook her head. "I heard the noise out here."

Blake gestured to the car with a grin. "Ah, this? It's the old car my… relative left behind. He must've forgotten about it, so I decided to make a few modifications. I added an energy core based on the Gubraithian fire. No more fuel needed for this baby!"

Seeing the excitement in his eyes, Nagini had to smile. He'd modified this antique car into a modern marvel.

"Finish your food quick! Afterwards, we're taking her out for a spin," he said enthusiastically.

Nagini headed back inside, wondering what other plans Blake had up his sleeve. Finishing her lunch, she returned outside to find Blake examining a small red button on the car's dashboard, clearly still tinkering with his upgrades.

Just then, a soft flicker of blue flame caught his attention. A transparent, blue-flame circle appeared in the garden, and a small creature—an Ice Phoenix holding a satchel and letter—hovered out from within. Blake's eyes widened.

"Oh… Nicolas Flamel sent something?" Blake murmured as he took the bag and letter. He recognized the familiar handwriting of the legendary alchemist:

Dear Blake,

Thanks to the blueprint for the Eye of Agamotto you shared with us, Perenelle and I have made remarkable progress. It's quite possibly one of the greatest alchemical challenges we've ever taken on.

We also revisited the storage orb concept you mentioned, and I think you'll be thrilled—we've finally created a prototype! The bag contains our first attempt. It's not perfect, but it's usable!

Are you on summer break? Bring Nagini and come visit us. It would be a pleasure to host you both.

With warm regards, Nicolas and Perenelle.

Blake placed the letter down and reached into the bag to pull out a smooth, polished sphere. It was a beautiful piece, much more refined than he'd expected from Nicolas' letter. Excitedly, he tested it, pressing the button and tossing it forward.

A brilliant blue light flashed, and a large white goose appeared on the ground, looking rather dazed but unharmed.

"Very good, now the Poké Ball can be used in the open."

Blake grinned, realizing that while it lacked advanced features from the Poke ball like nurturing magical creatures, it was still an impressive achievement. Pocketing the device, he turned to Nagini, who was watching from the car's passenger seat, equally impressed.

"Pretty amazing, isn't it?" Blake said, practically glowing with excitement.

"Now that we've got these, our journey's all set!"

"Our journey?" Nagini asked, her curiosity piqued.

Blake nodded, his excitement uncontainable. "We're going to France! Nicolas Flamel lives there, in a secret safe house. It's under the Fidelius Charm, so it's well-protected. It'll be a great experience for us both."

"France?" Nagini said, grinning at the thought. "I hope you've planned our arrival."

Blake laughed. "Don't worry—I'll set up a portal once we're ready to go. But first, I figured we'd take a scenic route. Paris is full of places we can explore along the way. The beauty of having a dimensional portal is that it takes just seconds to travel, but where's the fun in that? Let's take the car for a bit and enjoy the drive."

Nagini settled back, feeling a sense of adventure bubbling up. She glanced at the car, still marveling at the intricate charm work Blake had woven into it.

"Are you sure it'll be inconspicuous?" she asked, still slightly skeptical.

Blake nodded, tapping the dashboard. "Trust me, I've charmed it with a Confundus Spell. Muggles will see it as just another car on the road. Nothing suspicious."

With that reassurance, Blake hit the ignition, and the car roared to life. He shifted gears, a confident smirk on his face. "Alright, let's roll. Next stop—Paris!"

In a flash, a swirling golden portal appeared ahead, revealing a glimpse of a quiet Parisian street on the other side. With a rev of the engine, they shot forward, racing into the portal, the classic car roaring into the unknown.
