Chapter 81: Truly Can’t Put My Mind at Ease
Shu couldn't sit still anymore. He stood up anxiously and began to pace restlessly.
Knowing that Fu Hua and the others were possibly in the same area as a Honkai beast, Shu couldn't help but feel uneasy.
After all, that Honkai beast had appeared in front of him time and time again, causing him a great deal of psychological trauma. Shu had a shattered feeling, as if his worldview had been destroyed and rebuilt.
But soon, Shu reacted and started to comfort himself.
Otto and Kallen had followed an armored-class Honkai beast before. With Otto's intelligence, Kallen's action, and their cooperation, that Honkai beast shouldn't pose any threat to them.
Although Fu Hua still had injuries on her feet, they wouldn't affect her too much, and Fu Hua herself wouldn't be a burden.
With Kallen by Otto's side, Shu didn't have to worry about Otto saying something like "Red-haired immortal, I didn't lie." Otto's conscience hadn't left with Kallen.
"Huu…" Shu let out a long sigh, forcibly calming himself down.
It was a lie to say that he wasn't worried, but worrying wouldn't do any good. It was better to believe that Otto and the others would be able to turn the situation around again.
If something really went wrong…
Shu's hand clenched, and he felt a pain in his chest again.
"Are you alright?" Looking at Shu, who had suddenly stood up with an anxious face, Liu Zhuohua and Yun Mengxi exchanged glances. Liu Zhuohua couldn't help but ask.
"It's nothing." Shu waved his hand, his hand went to his waist. After thinking for a moment, Shu looked at the two of them.
"You… do you know how to get to the city center?"
He still couldn't put his mind at ease. No matter what, he had to go to the city center, to a place closer to Otto and the others, so that he could do something if there was a crisis.
"I know…" Liu Zhuohua replied subconsciously. For a moment, Liu Zhuohua saw a strange emotion in Shu.
That emotion… was like the emotion that she had seen on a veteran actor on the set of a big-budget war movie.
Liu Zhuohua remembered that they had been filming a tragic charge battle…
And the emotion on this boy was more real and fervent.
"You were separated from… your brother near the city center, right?" Shu sat back down in front of the two, leaning forward with a serious expression.
Yun Mengxi closed her mouth and nodded hastily.
"Then there's a high probability that you'll find your brother there. Coincidentally, I also need to go there…"
"You're crazy! There are monsters there! Didn't you hear me?!" Liu Zhuohua suddenly stood up and slammed her hand on the table, glaring at Shu angrily. "No! I will absolutely not go to that place!"
Shu frowned and opened his mouth to say something, but he couldn't say it.
He knew why Liu Zhuohua didn't want to go back. If it wasn't for chance and necessity, he himself wouldn't want to see that train station ever again.
Looking at Liu Zhuohua, who looked like she was about to explode, Shu could only turn his gaze to Yun Mengxi at the side.
But Yun Mengxi had her head buried down, without saying a word. Shu couldn't even see her expression. Combined with Liu Zhuohua next to her, Yun Mengxi looked like a small blade of grass swaying in the wind, lost and helpless.
Looks like it's not going to work.
Shu sighed. At this moment, Kiana came rushing out with two bags of flour. "What's wrong? What happened?"
Shu was about to get up, but his body felt weak. He could only sit and wave to Kiana.
Kiana immediately saw Liu Zhuohua, who was standing in front of Shu with a fierce aura, and Shu, who was leaning against the chair, pale as if he hadn't slept for three days, and her brain exploded.
Did Shu get bullied?!
Kiana quickly walked to Shu's side, straightened her back and glared straight at Liu Zhuohua, trying to look very fierce.
Liu Zhuohua didn't back down and glared back.
There was no way she would return to that hellish place!
Shu: "...What are you doing?"
Looking at the two people, who were about to fight each other like two roosters, Shu shook his head. He pulled at Kiana, motioning for her to sit down.
Kiana reluctantly retracted her gaze, baring her teeth at Liu Zhuohua, then bent over.
Shu leaned closer and whispered, "I just received news that there's probably at least one Honkai beast in the city center."
Kiana's eyes widened instantly.
"A Honkai beast? Are you sure?" Kiana also whispered back. She wouldn't forget the armored-class Honkai beast that had chased them twice.
Honkai beasts had followed them here?!
"I'm not sure, but it's probably close to that…" Shu felt a headache. He had said that it was an armored-class beast, but that was the best case scenario.
The houses in the city center were mostly skyscrapers that were dozens of stories high. Under those circumstances, could a ten-meter armored-class beast really be considered to be "as tall as a building"?
Could a Judgement-class or Emperor-class beast really have appeared?
"…" Kiana bit her lip. Her first reaction was to quickly call Mei and Bronya and have them carry the supplies back to the train and leave, taking the two with them.
But Kiana also realized the problem.
Otto, Fu Hua, and Kallen were currently heading to the city center. The few of them were likely facing danger… and it was impossible for her to abandon the class monitor and others and flee alone.
"I'm going to chase after them! It's too dangerous there!" Kiana gritted her teeth and made a decision. She then turned to leave with a dark face.
Shu quickly grabbed Kiana.
Last time, he hadn't kept an eye on Kiana, and she had just ran off on her own, leading to so many things later. There was no way he would let Kiana act alone again this time.
"Can you catch up with them? Even if you can, do you know where they are right now?" Shu persuaded her. At this moment, Mei and Bronya also came out of the warehouse.
Liu Zhuohua's shout had been quite loud. They had heard it clearly inside, and they were worried that some kind of conflict had occurred.
Of course, Kiana had run out the fastest, so the two of them had put down what they were doing and followed.
But looking at the situation… it seemed that there was something else going on?
Kiana closed her mouth and silently walked back. Seeing that he had persuaded Kiana, Shu couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
With a bit of effort, Shu stood up and, along with Kiana, walked to Mei and Bronya's side. He whispered to them about what had happened.
Mei's expression also darkened.
"I don't know what to do now." Shu spread out his hands. He did want to go to the city center, but the only ones who knew the way were Otto and Fu Hua. They didn't even have a good map here, so how could they find Otto and the others in such a big city?
"Actually…" Just as Shu was thinking about whether to look around for a paper map, a small voice rang out.
"Actually… I can… lead the way…" Yun Mengxi, who had been keeping her head down, spoke. The chocolate on her hands had long since melted, staining her fingers.
