Honkai Star Rail: Godly Script System

Chapter 63: Five Years Later

Castorice, being embraced by someone for the first time in so long, could not bear to part with Lucian's warmth.

Polyxia, seeing her elder sister refuse to let go, also did not feel right leaving first, not wanting to interrupt her sister's happiness.

Just like that, the three of them stayed embraced for a long while until Lucian spoke up.

"So... are we going to stay here hugging like this for the rest of our lives?"

Upon hearing this, Castorice snapped back to her senses and quickly pulled herself out of Lucian's arms. Her cheeks turned red, and her heart raced as she realized that she had gotten so lost in it that she had forgotten herself.

Honestly, she couldn't help it.

Why did Lucian's embrace make her so hopelessly addicted?

Castorice could not understand, so she was simply left blushing.

"Well, I must tend to the River of Souls now..." Polyxia said with a smile, preparing to say goodbye to the two and return to her work. "Because of my mistake, the nether realm is now in chaos. I need to get back to my duties as soon as possible."

"I won't let you bear this alone. Now I'm a Death Titan too, so I'll go with you." Castorice immediately grabbed Polyxia's hand, then turned to Lucian with an apologetic look. "Um... Lucian, can you wait for me in the mortal realm? Once I've finished settling the nether realm, I'll definitely come find you! I'll repay your kindness!"

Lucian immediately frowned, feeling troubled.

He had no objection to the script's protagonist going to work, but making him wait in the mortal realm while Castorice stayed in the nether realm was another matter.

He did not want to leave Castorice, not even for a moment.

Besides, what if going to the nether realm together was part of the script's completion conditions?

Bearing this in mind, Lucian spoke up.

"I'll just go with you." Lucian said decisively. "I can live in the nether realm with no problem, right? Besides, if either of you gets lonely, you can always come and hug me."

Hearing this, both sisters were speechless.

"But there's nothing in the nether realm."

"Yeah, it's boring."

Castorice and Polyxia both protested one after another.

"Heh, boring?" Lucian grinned fearlessly. "Who decided that? I mean, it won't be boring having you two on my side."

At these straightforward words, Castorice and Polyxia couldn't help but blink in surprise, and soon, feeling moved, they smiled in unison, almost bursting into tears.

'He's so kind...'

Castorice thought silently in her heart, then finally managed to squeeze out one sentence that came from the bottom of her heart.

"Thank you."

With that, the three of them set off for the nether realm, beginning the work of guiding souls to reincarnation.

As the Death Titans, the two sisters worked together, attracting souls, waving their hands to determine each soul's fate.

A wave of the left hand, and the soul would reincarnate.

A wave of the right hand, and the soul would resurrect.

A long line of souls formed before them—an endless queue stretching as far as the eye could see.

During this, Lucian wandered around, keeping watch for any souls that tried to cut the line or cause trouble, and when he grew tired of it, he would go lie in the sea of flowers beside Castorice and hum a tune that echoed through the nether realm, drifting far and wide.

"Lucian, whenever I hear you sing this song, I can't help but picture someone in my head—holding a steel fork, with something strange in their mouth. Why is that?" Castorice asked Lucian in wonder.

"Hmm, that's a matter of great karma." Lucian answered casually while biting a nether realm flower in his mouth. "Well, it's not something you can bear, so don't think too much about it."

Polyxia, on the other hand, just listened to his singing quietly, thoroughly enjoying it.

Even though the lyrics were always odd, his singing was strangely pleasant to hear, so she did not really care what song he sang, as long as he was the one singing.

Sometimes, she would even hum along with him.

Just like that, in the days that followed, Lucian turned the nether realm into his own KTV, passing the time with song.

During this time, the three of them always depended on each other, and without realizing it, five years went by in a flash.

As five years passed, the nether realm finally saw a period of peace.

All the souls that had clogged the way were reincarnated, and it seemed the wars in the mortal realm had also paused for a time.

"We finally finished everything..." Polyxia said in relief, looking deeply moved. "If it hadn't been for you helping me, Elder Sister, I would have been stuck here for ages."

One had to admit, being the Death Titan was truly a thankless job.

"Let's take turns from now on." Castorice smiled and patted Polyxia on the head. "Now, there's no need for you to carry all the burden alone. We can share Thanatos's duty together. One year of work, one year of rest—we'll alternate."

Upon hearing this suggestion, Polyxia felt even more moved.

"But, Elder Sister, you don't have to waste your own time..." Polyxia said with a conflicted expression. "You could have a better life with Lucian in the mortal realm..."

"Polyxia, you're my sister, my only family. We should support each other." Castorice gently shook her head and spoke earnestly. "Yes, the mortal realm is wonderful, but it's precisely because it's wonderful that I also want you to experience it, not be trapped here in the nether realm all alone."

In the next moment, she took Polyxia's hand and walked over to Lucian.

"Lucian, while I'm in the nether realm, could you look after Polyxia in the mortal realm?" Castorice asked with a small smile. "You shouldn't have to stay here with us... You shouldn't be trapped in the nether realm because of us."

Hearing her sincere words, Lucian was almost moved to tears.

Castorice was truly a gentle, kind-hearted woman, always thinking of others first before herself.

"Seeing you being so considerate of me, how could I say no?" Lucian nodded with a helpless smile.

Of course, the main reason he agreed was that he realized there was no script condition to fulfill here. Five years in the nether realm without anything changing—obviously, he had to leave this place for progress.

"However, since the nether realm is empty now, let's all take a vacation." Lucian said with a smile. "Work can wait a few more days, right? Let's go."

Giving the sisters no chance to refuse, he took Polyxia's left hand and Castorice's right, then led them out of the nether realm together.

Now, both sisters held the full divine authority of the Death Titan and could move freely in the mortal realm. Having spent five years without sunlight, they were incredibly excited, looking around everywhere like villagers visiting a big city for the first time.

Polyxia was even more energetic than Castorice—it was as if she wanted to burn through all the energy she hadn't been able to use before.

"Lucian, come look!" Polyxia called out mysteriously.

Lucian, raising his eyebrows in wonder, walked over.

As soon as he reached her, however, Polyxia suddenly jumped into a puddle, splashing water everywhere, then flashed a mischievous 'I know I was wrong' smile.

Lucian grinned, then grabbed Polyxia and quickly smeared mud on her face, making Castorice nearby cover her mouth to stifle a laugh.

"Hey, look..." Polyxia tugged on Lucian's sleeve. "There are a lot of people up ahead."

Lucian and Castorice followed the direction of her finger and saw a group of people gathered together, chattering away.

Curious, Castorice and Polyxia dragged Lucian along, not even asking if he wanted to go.

As the three of them got closer, they learned that five young men had died.

"NOOO!!! Seridoros, why did those soldiers have to be so heartless?!"

"What did they do to deserve such a cruel death?!"

"Damn those soldiers! They took our food and killed our villagers! Talanton above, please bring down your righteous judgment!"

Beside the five lifeless bodies, several villagers were talking—some grieving, some angry, some cursing.

"They're innocent victims of war... They shouldn't have died..." Castorice said softly, then stepped forward.

Under the villagers' surprised gazes, she raised her right hand and summoned the souls of the five young men.

"I refuse your deaths. Return and walk the earth once more."

As these words fell, Castorice waved her right hand, sending the five souls back into their bodies.

Soon, the wounds on the five bodies began to heal, and right after that, all five of them opened their eyes at once.

Seeing this miraculous scene, the villagers were stunned, jaws dropping and eyes wide.

"Th-They're alive? No, they've been resurrected?"

Having never witnessed such a miracle, every villager immediately looked at Castorice with shining eyes.

Lucian, however, sensed that in those shining eyes, it was not worship they felt, but a desire to claim Castorice for themselves.
