Chapter 116: Olivia's ridiculous circumstances
She was one of the best adventurers
And so, one day, when she was wandering around…
She accidentally found a dungeon
As an adventurer, she naturally entered the dungeon, and she also solved the puzzle that blocked access by herself effortlessly
However…
On the second floor, she encountered a weird demon
Still though, she was strong, so it took her only 2 seconds to kill it
But….
She also activated a trap
It seemed like killing that demon caused a certain mechanism of the trap to activate
…
..
.
'And so, for the past 200 years, I have been trapped in that dungeon'
Her story was brief, but it really conveyed her situation
"...."
Adam's eyebrows furrowed
"Haah, I see…"
The silver-haired boy's face relaxed as he let out a sigh
A 2nd-floor dungeon trap that could imprison a powerful adventurer for 200 years….
He honestly couldn't believe it. It sounded like a ridiculous setup by the author just so certain events take place
"I understand your situation" He stared back at her, looking deeply into her similar yet different colored eyes "And honestly, I don't know how you did it. I probably would have gone insane by now- just thinking of being imprisoned in a dungeon without any hope of escape gives me chills"
True, Adam can say for certain that he won't find himself in a similar situation to Olivia's.
However…
Just the thought alone was actually scary
"And so-"
Narrowing his eyes, he moved his other arm towards the chain binding Olivia-
'Stop! Stop!'
Adam's hand froze in the air just as it was about to make contact with the chains
"Hm?"
He looked at her with confusion on his face, wondering why she stopped him from breaking these chains
These chains seemed tough, and they indeed exuded a magical aura
It was the magic of Olivia's world
But…. this magic felt both foreign and familiar
'This chain has a lethal curse on it'
She replied curtly, staring at his palm that was hovering above the chains
'If you cut it….' She paused, turning her head and looking into his eye with seriousness 'I'll die'
"...."
Adam's eyebrows once again furrowed
Instinctively, violet five-pointed stars revolved around the emerald iris of his previous blue as the Alpha Stigma activated
"Then why did you call out to me?" He raised an eyebrow at her "Was it out of loneliness?"
…
He really doubted that one of the best adventurers who had been imprisoned for 200 years would suddenly call out a strange man she had never met, and bring him closer
…Especially after she was transported so suddenly, she should be very suspicious-
…
'That's right. I wanted to talk to someone'
Olivia nodded simply, as if it was common sense
'I kept calling even though I knew that there was no one there…'
She bit her lip, body trembling slightly
'But you- no- I really came to you!'
The bound woman, despite her state, smiled brightly
"Hm…"
Adam made a noncommittal response. He moved the hand that was still on Olivia's head, brushing her blue hair slightly in a comforting gesture
….
… Everyday, for 200 years, this woman has been calling out for…. anyone, or rather, maybe no one
This kind of willpower, this kind of determination….
-It was something that not many people could possess.
And the same goes for him- he can't say for sure that he can hold up to this woman's willpower
….
"So…."
As the blue-haired woman didn't comment on his gesture, Adam spoke up while still softly brushing her hair
"You said that you called out to anyone that could be there…" He trailed off "But how do you know if someone is actually there? I mean, in your current state, I assume you were in a small closed room… So, with your short range, how do you find anyone? Can you sense them?"
The silver-haired boy asked a barrage of questions, out of pure curiosity.
'Kinda' Olivia shook her head as she replied curtly 'I had just kept a hope in my heart that someone will eventually enter the dungeon and accidentally stumble close enough to that room'
"That…. sounds ridiculous. It would take a miracle for that to happen"
Adam chuckled, his head also shaking at this naive hope.
…
He didn't mock it, however. It seemed kind of stupid to just 'hope' and 'wait' for someone to enter the dungeon and get close enough to her
But… this actually happened.
He has never watched or read 'The Hidden Dungeon Only I can enter', but he at least knows that Noir, the main character, actually entered the dungeon and stumbled upon Olivia
So… This 'impossible' miracle did indeed occur
…
'Maybe… But….'
She raised her head, blue eyes misty, watering as if she was about to cry
'I suddenly felt a foreign force pulling me…' She pursed her lips 'And it transported me here. I don't know if this is another dungeon, but after 200 years of imprisonment, I have finally changed places'
Olivia, who was bound in chains and sealed, smiled at him once again, her blue eyes shining like sparkling gems
Tap
'-And I met you'
Two, clear orbs of water felt to the ground
…
Seeing her pure smile, Adam blinked slowly, a bit dazed
Tap…Tap
'Is she… crying….?'
And when another round of watery orbs dropped to the ground, he realized that….. Olivia Servant was indeed crying
"...."
He took a deep breath
The fact that this woman… Even after 200 years of being sealed… can still smile so cheerfully, with tears on her face, just because she met another person….
…It was… admirable, to say the least
….
"Ahah…" Adam chuckled, scratching the back of his head, a bit sheepishly "Honestly, this is the first time someone has been so happy just by meeting me"
This was the first time that, after meeting someone, the other person cheerfully smiled while crying tears of joy
Stepping back, he stopped stroking Olivia's head
"Though, I am quite flattered!"
The silver-haired boy spread his hands in the air dramatically
…
Why is he acting like this?
Because Adam just figured out his own weakness
-Sincerity
He didn't notice it before with Kiana and Mei because he already knew their character before actually meeting them… and he also liked them
But… getting such sincerity from an (almost) unknown woman, who he could actually confirm that those feelings and emotions are, indeed, true and sincere… This is a different matter altogether
The fact that it was a beautiful woman's smile and tears was…certainly a bonus
…
'Adam…'
"Hm?"
Hearing the seriousness in Olivia's voice, the silver-haired boy tilted his head questioningly
'Can you tell me about yourself….? Please….?'
With such a pretty woman begging with sparkling eyes to know more about him, Adam only had one thing to say
"-Sure"
Just as she shared her story, so will he. That would make it quite easy for them to… bond

A/N:
Was it a bit cringe?
I mean, this is Olivia's personality, but of course, I don't think I wrote her that well....
But what do you think of this chapter?
I welcome any suggestions that would have made this scene.... better
By the way, I know it was a short chapter, but the next one will be a lot longer
