As they followed Alisaria out to the Deepwater Soul Mirror, Theo and Julia were relatively silent in reflection. This would be the first time they got a complete picture of what they were capable of. Julia asked a question as they walked. "Alisaria, is there anything that we should know about this process?"
Alisaria nodded, "That is an excellent question, Julia, and yes, there are bits of data that are displayed for skills that no one knows what they are. Some people have hypothesized that they are fragments of data left over from older versions of the System, or possibly stepping stones in a new version of the System. Either way, don't get too torn up about any strange numbers that are presented on your Skills."
"So is there anything else we should know?" Theo asked, "Is there any reason that we shouldn't do this?"
Alisaria shrugged as she walked, "There are many who come here, who refuse to use the Deepwater Soul Mirror for a variety of reasons, some because they can not face their inadequacies laid out so plainly, and others because they simply do not wish to know."
They walked in silence for a moment, then they arrived at the massive crystal tub. Alisaria turned to face them, "Only one person may enter at a time to get an accurate reading. Do you require help undressing?"
Julia shook her head, "I think that we are fine, thank you, Alisaria."
"Of course, Julia. If I am needed, please do not hesitate to call out." Alisaria said as she walked away.
Theo and Julia looked at each other. Theo held up a fist and raised an eyebrow. Julia smiled and then held up her fist. After several rounds of rock-paper-scissors, it was decided that Theo would go first. He quickly climbed into the tub after stripping his clothes off.
Theo felt a thrum of power, and then he saw something coming into focus on the tall slab that stuck up out of the ground. First came the typical status screen.
